When was this?

King of the ring 98 when Foley fell off the cell(simultaneously the biggest mark out and most trrifying moment I've ever experienced) Unforgiven 2001 when Angle won the title

the dudleys need to do one of two things: a) Retire or b) Liven up their gimmick that has been stale for quite a while now. At least when the original draft split them up, the singles runs may have fauiled, but at least they were FRESH characters. I have no feelings towards the dudleys anymore, fac or heel. I mean, jeez, give them SOMETHING.

From the man himself: "Back in my Mid South days in Houston, I was working with One Man Gang and he ran my head into the ring post. There was a bolt sticking out of the post and I hit it, almost fracturing my skull and was out for over a month. Many joint injures that kept me out longer but that was the most dangerous."

maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't the reason that WWE sells out live events, is really big live there, etc. is becasue of the rarity of the presence of it? I mean, say it was reversed, and they came to the US only once a year for a week long tour, I'd assume every show would sell out. I see UK fans tiring of it after a couple of years, just like US fans have, and business there eventually leveling off, like it has here.
-
If you're going to cap the matches, wouldn't it make sense to cap and upload the show to a torrent as well? Then again, maybe you assumed that we knew you were gonna cap the show also.

Well, I can't speak for the rest of my city, but....*closet X-Pac fan* Motivated, drug-free, I can regularly put on ***+ matches, X-Pac, that is.

http://www.wwe.com/ppv/ Steve Austin vs. Ricky Steamboat, Bash at the Beach, 1994 Diesel vs. Sid, In Your House, 1995 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Marc Mero, In Your House, 1996 Rey Mysterio vs. Psychosis, Bash at the Beach 1996 Triple H vs. Mankind, Canadian Stampede, 1997 Undertaker vs. Vader, Canadian Stampede, 1997 Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho, Bash at the Beach, 1998 Miss Hancock vs. Daffney, Bash at the Beach, 2000 The Rock vs. Kurt Angle vs. Undertaker, WWE Championship, Vengeance 2002 The Dudleys vs. Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero, Vengeance 2002 Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit, Vengeance, 2003 Undertaker vs. John Cena, Vengeance, 2003 The PPV itself actually looked quite tempting, now throw in two matches from the greatest non-Wrestlemania PPV of all time, Benoit/Guerrero, and Austin/Mero, which I remember being quite decent(although I haven't seen it in a long time) and I tihnk I'm almost sold. Anyone have star ratings and opinions on any of the WCW matches? I either haven't seen them or can't remember them.
-
Yeah, they're still streamed in that, and thanks for the info, I appreciate it. Yes Hog Wild became Road Wild, and the month was kept the same.
-
I'll agree with the above, however, I watched angle/austin again after what Ray said here: I read that, and kept that in mind while re-watching the match. Now, I'm still slightly sour on the DQ finish, because it's still a non-finish. WWE seems to have this certain paranoia about making one guy look decisively beaten sometimes. However, it makes a lot more sense and I can understand why the ending was what it was now, so I like the match a lot more than i had on previous viewings. Ray's explanation made sense to me. I've said this before in another thread, but the problem with threads like this is that people always end up arguing over star ratings, psycohlogy, etc. and they can never agree, and it jsut turns into two smarks arguing over the true meaning of selling, storytelling, and stuf like that. So to that. However, one of the reasons why I do enjoy these types of threads is because people can explain and point out to me things that I myself didn't catch in a match, such as the above mentioned Angle/Austin encounter. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm definitely all for other people being able to make me enjoy a match more. So to that.
-
The show, plus those matches, I'd pay $5 for that. 500K has to be somewhat close to DVD quality.
-
I'm too lazy to dig up the thread on the free GAB Bash content, but it's in there. Off the top of my head I believe you can stream the matches for either 7 or 10 days. You can't download or keep them though. I'm not aware of any programs that allow you to cap streaming video. Is anyone else? Also, if this is a monthly thing from now on, which it appears to be, they might want to cut back on match quanity per PPV. If they're restricting themselves to the month of the show, if they put out a dozen matches every time, they'll run out of actual GOOD matches quite quickly.
-
Ah, I understand now. Didn't think of it like that.
-
However, if you're WWE, how can you put those two matches from Canadaian Stampede up there over the 10-man? HOW?
-
That's utter nonsense. The ending was actually great, and was the logical conclusion of the story being told. It fit perfectly with Austin's character and got a ton of heat on him. Angle snapping after getting screwed was also great. I hate knee-jerk "bad finish!!" reactions. Would you care to go a little more in-depth on that? I'm actually interested as to why you think the finished worked so well.
-
The ending killed Angle/Austin. It was one of the worst endings to a world title match that I'd seen in a long time. I don't think Jericho/Rock from RR has been mentioned yet. I greatly enjoyed that match.
-
I'm sure there are plenty of people that tape Velocity. You could probably pick it up from somewhere.
-
I haven't read the spoilers yet, and if Kidman/London win the tag titles I'm going to mark out.
-
Austin/Michaels at Wrestlemania XIV is also the biggest injustice of all time. Had Bret not jumped to WCW, he'd have gone in with the title, and Austin would have went over, and judging by their previous encounters it could have been the greatest North American match ever.
-
The Hart Foundation=Greatest angle/stable ever. I haven't watched the formation in a couple of years, but from what I remember of it it was Owen/Bulldog in the Euro title Finals, and Bret comes out and stops the match and gives this big speech about why are they fighting they're family etc., andt te stable was formed. the Anvil, also being related, was a natural fit. Pillman was more of a tag along/enforcer for the group more than anything else. they ended up holding all the WWF belts at one point, I think. If you haven't seen it, pick up some Raws from after Survivor Series 96-right before the montreal screwjob. That entire period is just amazing to me. It produced the two best matches in WWF history, The best non-Wrestlemania PPV ever, and the heat for the 10 man rivals Rock/Hogan. It's the best angle/feud(hart foundation/Austin) ever.
-
But they ended up with better results. Goldberg also never hurt himself, if I remember correctly.

INTERIM GM EUGENE July 5, 2004 Throughout its incredible 10-plus-year history, Monday Night RAW has featured some of the most unpredictable moments in sports-entertainment history. But this Monday night's show -- live from Winnipeg, Manitoba -- may just be the most unpredictable, the most outlandish, that we've ever seen. General Manager Eric Bischoff is taking a vacation this Monday night, and he announced that he's handing over control on a one-week interim basis to his nephew, Eugene! That means Eugene will be calling the shots on RAW! With just six days to go before Vengeance, absolutely anything -- and we really mean that -- could happen this Monday night on RAW. And don't forget that Winnipeg is the place where Chris Jericho grew up. What will Y2J -- who will face Batista at Vengeance -- have in store for his hometown fans (and for Batista) this Monday night? Watch Monday Night RAW at 9/8 CT on Spike TV to find out.
