Fuck that, get rid of JEFF.
-
The clock is indeed ticking for TNA. And I'd rather watch AJ lose to Jamie Noble every week instead of seeing him stay on the Jeff Jarrett Show.
-
The show had a lot of positives IMO, but also some glaring negatives which point out just how out-of-touch TNA's direction truly is.
-
...and after Hardy jobs to Jarrett again, Monty will challenge at the next two PPVs, so TNA definitely has their heads up their asses if they're trying to go national with THIS. And you must hate the X Division to want Jeff Hardy to be in it. But knowing TNA, they'll put the X Division title on him for about 7 months, and it'll be the only travesty bigger than Jeff Jarrett as Champ For Life.
-
True. A good fued could come out of it. But just how good are the chances that TNA will actually book the fued well? None.
-
I'd rather Killings were in WWE, actually. Put him on Smackdown, and I'd pay way more to watch Cena vs. Killings instead of the current Cena vs. Booker. Abyss would also do well in WWE, but I think Monty would be just another Matt Morgan, John Heidenreich, or Nathan Jones when put next to other big guys who are actually GOOD.
-
Ah, what the hell... 1) If they put Steiner in a good fued withRon Killings leading up to a half-decent match where Steiner loses and then leaves, then yeah. But that wouldn't happen, so I guess the real answer is no. 2) I wish he could return. But realistically, TNA's better off without him.

This could work out well if they don't do the "it was all an act!" swerve, and if they don't just throw him over to Smackdown and forget about him. Just have Eugene return with a different personality. Instead of saying he was a retard, they can say he was just schitzo and that was his "innocent" persona. The new one could be Nick Dinsmore, and he could be evil or something. Foley did a good job of his character actually being many characters when he was in WWE. Just like he used Mankind, Dude Love, and Cactus, Dinsmore could probably work the Eugene and Nick dynamic of good and evil brothers in the same body. I'd like to see him return as a heel and start a fued with Benoit, personally.

Its actually not a bad idea. The Naturals can win a solid title defense against AMW, and lose the titles to XXX without losing any heat since they had already wrestled earlier in the night. [if this is how they play it] it could work out nicely.

1) Hardy is the has-been and Jarrett is the never-was. 2) Jarrett can't go through one fucking interview without mentioning Vince Russo. Its just his style. 3) Here's my prediction for Jarrett/Hardy: Jarrett wins. Realistically, that's whats going to happen, and we'll probably see some stupid interference from Russo, Dusty, Monty, or someone else no one gives a shit about. Just for kicks, here's what I'd like to see happen: Before the match, Jarrett announces Raven as the special enforcer. This is his big return since he's been gone a while and TNA has basically been shitting on him. Raven interferes for Jarrett early in the match, but Hardy makes a comeback. Since TNA actually built this up, JJ gets Hardy into the Figure Four but the ref is out. Hardy reverses it into a Sharpshooter variation and JJ taps, but the ref it still out. Raven jumps in with a chair and stares Hardy down before smashing JJ in the face with it. Jarrett's out cold and Raven pulls the ref over to lift his arm three times. Hardy wins the title, and Raven pulls off his shirt to reveal "Destiny" painted on his chest. Jarrett takes some much-needed time off and they set up Raven vs. Hardy at Victory Road where Raven can win the title and we can all live happily ever after.

People knowing that Jarrett sucks goes way back
Magus replied to AmazingRen's topic in TNA Wrestling
The only glory JJ got was through politics. The only great matches he had were through superior workers. And he's always had to latch onto others for heat. All that and he's a shitty writer and promoter. Look at it this way: if Bob Holly left WWE and started his own little fed, then booked himself as the star attraction and made superior talents look like shit by losing to him in really lame angles and horrible matches, you'd have... TNA. -
Another one that looks good on paper but will probably suck. It just keeps getting funnier and funnier that Jarrett vs. Hardy is the BIGGEST MATCH IN TNA HISTORY. Did Tony Shiavone write that? A Never-Was vs. a Has-Been. Its pretty sad that TNA is hitching their trailor to that. Unless they make a change of direction, the company will be irrevocably screwed.
-
Those were all good matches/fueds. But notice that none of them involves TNA's so-called franchise player. While they were putting on good matches and attempting to work decent fueds, Jarrett was running the World Title into the ground in sorry-ass storylines and matches. Its just more evidence that JJ shouldn't be on the shows if he can't pull his fucking weight. If TNA wants to be taken seriously, then isn't it stupid for their World Champion--the guy who's carrying the company--to be the weakest link?
-
So Jeff Jarrett turns out to be a crackhead? That's the coolest thing to happen in pro wrestling EVER.
-
And that was the only real time TNA's main event was actually GOOD. There was a great champion, great challengers, great matches, and the title actually seemed important. And all that happened while Jarrett was away. Not a coincidence.
-
Devil's Advocate here. This week's show actually looks only mildly crap. Hell, Meltzer gave it some praise in his review, and that says something. I still expect them to pull of a crapfest next week (with Jeff/Jeff, and Russo probably turning heel), but TNA seemed to put forth some effort on this one.
-
You'd think they'd stack next week's card to build up to it... but this is TNA we're talking about here. Its sad that they expect Dusty vs. D'Amore to spark interest. But I'm going to say something positive, and about Jeff Jarrett no less. At least he didn't wear that dumbass tuxedo and it seems like his finisher is no longer The Stroke. Those are two sucky things about Jarrett that've changed, thank God. Hopefully TNA will stay consistent and keep JJ this way.
-
Even though he is getting the biggest pops of the night despite being a heel? I said he had a lot going for him. A great deal of charisma, intensity, and showmanship are some of those things. But he's just very generic in the ring. Its normal for a wrestler to have a few flaws. Few guys are the 100% total package, but TNA does nothing to hide Monty's weaknesses. Having JJ call him out on these weaknesses is even worse. I don't think it'll take long for his fan interest to die down. Anyone in TNA who becomes popular will lose that b/c of the shitty booking methods.
-
Brown's got some good things going for him, but no way is he going to approach greatness. He's only being set up to do the job to Jarrett when the time comes anyways, so it doesn't matter. Brown could be much more effective if he weren't booked as a generic Hoss wrestler. Being big and strong doesn't magically make your match fun to watch, and with TNA's boring booking style, Monty's not much to mark out for.

Why Hardy v. Jarrett is the worst title feud ever
Magus replied to AmazingRen's topic in TNA Wrestling
Hardy vs. Jarrett ranks among some of the worst stuff WWE or WCW ever did, honestly. There are worse fueds, of course, but this one's pretty bad as well. I think it'd be safe to say this is the worst fued ever in TNA though. It has no heat, no logic, no character, and the match is going to suck donkey balls. -
Won't make the match any better or the fued more entertaining. Building a company around the likes of Jarrett, Hardy, and Monty Brown is nothing short than a recipe for disaster.
-
Jarrett and Dutch... whatta team.
-
Ha! Hogan never owned a company to put himself over everyone...he just took advantage of whoever was in charge. At least Hogan jobbed by CO/DQ occasionally. Jarrett's Singles record is like 98-1. Other than that, Hogan smokes Jarrett in every category. Being able to draw, cut a promo, have a better style than old school memphis brawling. Jarrett can't even sell out an arena that seats 1,500 people. Thats really horrible. Well, we are talking about a guy who wishes he was Jerry Freakin' Lawler circa 1970's. THAT is pathetic.
-
I agree that Monty will do one of two things: 1) He'll win the NWA title by the end of the year, as TNA seems serious about pushing him as a main eventer. 2) He's just the latest guy to be built up just to put over Jeff Jarrett. As for the disagreement, I think TNA could do it if they had all the things you just mentioned. Its not that TNA isn't capable of doing it, they just won't allow themselves to, be it politics, egos, or sheer incompetency.
-
Rebuttal: None. This is the absolute truth. The product would improve by leaps and bounds if Jeff were just taken off TV so that everyone else on the card can thrive. The product would improve even MORE if he stopped booking the shows and writing the storylines and left that to someone a bit more competent. The way Jeff dominates TNA has just gotten disgusting. Its WCW all over again (yeah, I said it), and Jeff Jarrett = Hogan. Statement: TNA can become a legit competitor to WWE with guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Ron Killings carrying the company.
