Kash Injured and of the Anniversary Show

a great match gone out the window and a HUGE chance for TNA to fuck this up royally. i could honestly see them placing a crap worker in Kash's spot, or put a heavyweight in there, which would be a terrible idea. Styles didn't go to the X Division so he could wrestle Dallas every week. hopefully though, this'll hold off on Styles vs Kash and we can really see some well-built heat going into that match. Kash should still fued with AJ, and AJ should just defend his ass off until Kash is ready to get back in the ring for his title shot. if TNA took the time to build this fued over the course of a few months, and then cap it off with a 30 Minute Iron Man Match or something... well, you be the judge. but for now, i just want to see a good X Title Match, and i hope TNA still intends to deliver that. debut Spanky, throw Hector Garza in it, B-E-G for Low Ki to do it, cancel Jerry Lynn's match with D'Amore and put him in a REAL match. anything along those lines would be good for me. TNA has promised a kickass X Division title match. Kash may be out, but they should still deliver on that promise.

    Second Anniversary Show

doesn't matter how good the wee people are in the ring. the fact is that the U.S. viewers aren't going to take them seriously. how about an X Division #1 Contender's match instead? see, its not that hard to book a good show.

    The RUSH is up.

i blame some things on the Jeff/Dutch Booking Combo From Hell. they ARE the ones in charge, and they ARE responsible for keeping Glen Gilberti and Vince Russo on air. plus, Dutch won't let the New Church back, and Jarrett has always been wary of letting anyone truly get over on him. a lot of the sucky things we have to put up with on the show are solely b/c of them. but, i don't hate the Jeff/Dutch team, because at least their booking is better than Vince Russo's. that's how i see it, at least.

    Second Anniversary Show

guess i'll give my thoughts, it being the Anniversary Show and all... -Jarrett vs. Killings. these two are capable of putting on a great title match, but that doesn't mean that they'll deliver here. this'll probably be booked to the gills with run-ins from the Elite Gaurd, 3LK, D'Lo, Dusty, and even Russo (will he just disappear already?). this will suck hard if there isn't a clean win. Killings has to be kept strong, but Jarrett needs the decisive win. i can't reiterate how bad it would be to book a screwjob here. -Styles vs. Kash. both are great IMO, and it should be a MOTYC if given enough time. but like before, there's the threat of a screwy finish. Styles will retain more than likely, but continue to fued with Kash for a few more weeks. i'm cool with that. -AMW vs. Nosawa/Miyomoto. should be a decent tag match and a victory for AMW. with them as champs, the tag team division seems to be getting better. the AMW/Naturals fued is starting up, which is the best thing for it. i'm just hoping that they'll allow teams other than AMW to shine. -i'm not sure what Raven has planned for his tribute, but it should at least be creative. i'm liking this fued, but i also liked Raven vs. Mitchell, and see how that turned out. fueding with Sabu will be nice for a while, but not for too long. the fact is that Raven belongs in the main event, and he should be champ. quit stalling. -Trinity vs. Desire, and unless these two have been flowing for the last 3 months, they have no real reason to hate each other. this is one of the MANY weak angles TNA is working. -Flying Midgets.... yeah, now people are gonna take you seriously. i thought that TNA was focused more on wrestling while WWE covered Sportz Entertainment crap like this? -D'Amore vs. Lynn is ready to be finished. its time everyone from the X Cup went their separate ways. Lynn is beyond wasted in this role. as for anyone surprising us, i'm not sure. this show looks mediocre. sure, there are a few good matches and even one or two good fueds going right now. but the fact is that TNA is still pushing shit angles, shit characters, and Triple J is reigning supreme.

    TNA Preview 6-16-04

    1) Jarrett having an army and valet is a good way to make his gimmick... well, existent. so i'm in favor of bringing in 3 pretty good wrestlers and making a stable with them. basically, it'd be TNA's version of Evolution. what sucks, though, is that they have to work with 3LK, two thirds of which suck royally in the ring. we may be getting a good main event fued here, but i don't see too many great matches coming out of it. 2) AJ vs. Dallas shouldn't be too terrible, as AJ is in there. this'll further the fued with K-I-D. i'm really happy that they're doing this fued, and i hope they keep it up for longer than a month. 3) Sabu vs. Raven is another fued i'm happy about. i know that's not the consensus on this board, but personally, i like it. i hope they drag this one out for a while too. i think there's a better chance of seeing good matches before the final showdown between Raven and Sabu. 4) throwing Abyss and Monte at AMW isn't a bad idea to cement them as badass tag team champions. i just wish TNA actually knew what they were doing with Abyss. he's completely wasted in the Watts/Goldy fued. Monte i'm becoming a fan of, as he's a hoss that can play his character well and his ring work is half-decent. AMW, on the other hand, needs a REAL tag team to fued with. that's where it begins and ends, people. the Naturals are obviously the best choice for this, and the tag division has needed rebuilding for a long time now. 5) Team Canada is a great heel faction, and i want them to stay together. Hector Garza is a star in the making, despite not speaking a word of English. so why is the X Cup shit still going? end it, TNA. you got plenty out of it, so just end it now. 6) not too interested in the Ult. Humiliation match. the NYC sucks right now as a heel faction, and the whole fued w/ Siaki/Kenney is just forced. at least its ending now, and everyone can get onto better things.

    Four questions

from reading your Lazarush reports (yes, i read them. sucks you aren't on it anymore, dude), i knew you had a soft spot for Big Kev 2.0. to me, he's not terrible, but i myself wouldn't rank him much higher than Dallas or Apollo. there's not too many hosses out there (besides Abyss) that can go properly in TNA. if Northcutt can improve over time, that'd be great, but i don't see that right now. plus, his credibility was practically murdered with the Redshirt gimmick. that's one of TNA's worst ideas ever.

    Four questions

    1. IF Awesome was to get back into shape and pull out his old high-flying ways, then he could be a great addition. much like D'Lo or Sabu, Awesome could be a main event contender whose job is to get others over without really ever winning the title. 2. i wasn't that big a fan of Northcutt. we have Dallas now, which is practically the same wrestler, so i see no reason to bring back Northcutt (Joe Legend could've been something, though). Sean O'Haire i definitely want to see in TNA. everyone wants to see him as a title contender for the New Church, and i have no problem with that. its probably the absolute best way to use him. O'Haire could be HUGE in TNA if they'd just bring him in. 3. Konnan's there because... hell, i don't know. it could be the love affair the Jarrett's have with crappy Sportz Entertainers. i don't really have a problem with either him or BG James, but they should NEVER be portrayed as the stars of 3LK. they are there to be Ron Killings' entourage and nothing more. as long as its Killings vs. Jarrett and not 3LK vs. Jarrett, i'm happy. 4. i'd love to see DDP in TNA, as his fued with Raven was a big reason i put up with WCW for a while. a return to that fued (but over the NWA Title) would be awesome. it'd also be a great way to introduce Kanyon. i think Page would be a good hand to have on board, just because he'll never demand to be the center of the show. Page is willing to be one of the guys, which is rare in a star as big as he is.

TNA News And Notes From Pwinsider

Hernandez and Collier could do really well as The Triple J Army. not too familiar with them, but the references to Angle and Dean can only mean good things. i hate Jarrett as much as the average smart, but i really like that he's doing things to change his gimmick.

    OAO 6/11 Impact Thread

here's my take on Dallas vs. Styles for this Wednesday: it'll be decent at least, very good at most. why? because AJ STYLES is in it, people! AJ can carry him, and its not like Dallas is going to wrestle on every single show (at least, i hope not). right now, he's playing the bodygaurd role for Kid Kash, and its doing great for Kash. Dallas may look like Test, but this pairing is more like HBK/Diesel from back in the day. Kash has the total package, and Dallas is just there to help him out by cheating, interfering, and generally being his muscle. booking Styles vs. Dallas for the PPV only furthers the AJ/Kash fued. speaking of which, this is a fued that should go for a few months. hold off on the one-on-one title match for as long as you can, TNA. both men are terrific at what they do, and put together they have the potential to carry TNA with this angle. as Kash's bodygaurd, its expected that Dallas wrestle once or twice. but, since the X Division champion will be wrestling a heavyweight, there should definitely be a Contender's match (Kazarian, Red, Dutt, Shark-Boy, whoever) to see who gets to challenge AJ next. that's one thing i hate about a lot of today's booking. just because the champ is in a fued with someone, doesn't mean that everyone else in the division can't still challenge him. AJ should defend the X Title while mainly dealing with Kash. well, that was longer than i expected...

    OAO 6/11 Impact Thread

just saw Impact, so i'll give some thoughts: -AJ vs. Kazarian was best match, simply by virtue of AJ being in it. Kash put on a good performance against Red, too. i'm looking forward to their fued, as it could be one of TNA's best ever. -the matches were short but decent. nothing went longer than it had to, and i guess that its done that way to entice people to get the PPVs so they can see the longer matches. -Mexico and Canada was a style clash. wasn't too great IMO, but it did its job to build towards Team NWA vs. Team Canada. is it me, or could Team Canada really become a dominant heel faction? i could see them going after the tag and/or XD titles. -performances i was most impressed by: Styles, Kash, Monte, 3LK (mostly Truth), and Shane Douglas. he shed his old character did surprisingly well as the backstage interviewer. now there's absolutely NO excuse to keep Goldilocks around! hooray!
  11. Magus

    Impact

agreed. i'm glad there's more focus on the X Division, but in my opinion, Raven vs. Sabu could be a H-U-G-E angle for TNA (if it culminates in one of them winning the World Title from Leonard). i look forward to seeing more of it, as its just now building up.
  12. Magus

    Impact

i'm still wondering why they're flying Raven and Sabu down there and paying them to work when they don't even put them on the show. wtf?
  13. Magus

    Impact! Spoilers?

are they intending on squeezing SIX matches into Impact? if so, that's pretty dumb, as there'll be hardly any time given to them. at least they gave Frankie his rematch, since their first match was so botched. three or four of the matches look really good, and would be great if they got enough time to them. the other matches look boring, though. we'll see how it turns out on TV, i guess.
  14. I'm fairly sure The Shiek died a year or two ago. the Iron Sheik is dead?? i was always under the assumption that the Iron Sheik was Sabu's uncle and that he was still alive. or is it another Sheik? damn, i'm getting confused enough as it is, someone just explain it to me.
  15. some thoughts... -i'm glad that Jarrett's trying to change himself a little. coming out in a tux is at least a little different. and he should play up the fact that he owns the company, and it seems more likely that George is going to be his valet. might help him get a little heat. and it seems he'll be fueding with Killings, which is good to see. i've given him all the credit that's due, so now that that's out of the way... -why the hell did he have to go through THREE guys (without any notice) and still not put over Killings clean???? that's just more of the Superman booking. and there's no reason for Russo to be there, either. other than the three Russoites that exist on the 'net, no one cares about yet another Russo/Jarrett program. we don't really need a DOA to boss Jeff around, because everyone knows that Jeff IS the boss! their promo in the ring was pointless and boring. that time could've gone to the matches on the rest of the card. -i'd rather see a straight tag match than a "Ultimate Humiliation" match, but that's just me. -Raven vs. Sabu should be an awesome fued, since its based on an actual match and it will build up to that match. what a concept, huh? its more interesting and makes way more sense (even if Raven wasn't trained by Sheik) than the unending Russo/Jarrett segment. and its cool that Sabu has Dutt in his corner, since he needs a voice. we could see Raven vs. Dutt, and maybe Raven will bring back Sheik just to goad Sabu into a match. as long as the two of them are kept close to the ME, i'm happy. -y'know, Dutt, Daniels, and Sabin all seem to be doing their own things, so perhaps Lynn should just team up with Garza and fued with Team Canada. makes more sense, to me. the X Cup is pretty much dead IMO, but i think its introduced a lot of good talents, so just end it now. -i'm tired of roll-ups and i'm absolutely SICK... OF... GUITARS!!! -Goldilocks and Erik Watts are arguing over money and ex-wives. this just has no place on the show, people. get rid of this before Abyss turns out to be Erik and Goldy's secret love child and they fight for custody of him. -Styles is X Division Champion again, which is good. he can have more great matches there, and maybe elevate the title back to where it once was. (i would way World Champ vs. X Champ, but wrestling Jarrett is no way to give a rub) i'm cool with AJ going back and forth between divisions, i just don't want him to ignore one in favor of the other. having him return to the World Title scene could be a big deal if hyped the right way. anyways, i'm looking forward to Kash vs. Styles, as Kash is long overdue for this kind of push.
  16. Daniels isn't gonna be able to compete, so that rules out xXx. which is pretty stupid, since EVERYONE is going to vote for them, and TNA can't deliver. it was a dumb decision to do the poll when one of the teams may or may not be able to compete. now we're going to have to see either Swinger/Gilberti or a rematch against Kash/Dallas. both are decent teams, but they just don't hold a candle to Daniels/Skipper. for God's sake, can we PLEASE get some decent tag teams?????

TNA officially adopts 6-sided ring full time

seems like a good idea to make this permanent, since its unique and its never been seen in the US before. it'll definitely get people's attention, and the X Division matches will benefit from it. any wrestler worth a damn will be able to adapt to a six-sided ring. if they can't, they really shouldn't be in the ring anyway. TNA should keep the 4-sided rings handy, though. a traditional match with four corners would still be nice to see every once in awhile. people will get easily burnt out on the hexagoned circle if its used nonstop. i can see it now. a match with a 4-sided ring will be as novel as a cage match or strap match.

    Official TNA Preview 6-9-04

    1. Styles vs. Kazarian. this should be the main event, and it could go either way. Kazarian could beat Styles, and get a HUGE rub to build up himself and the title. or Styles could win, which would be fine (despite burying Frankie). either way, as long as no one gets buried and we get a Styles vs. Daniels fued, i'll be happy. 2. Lynn/Garza/Metal vs. Team Canada. good stuff. Team Canada is really growing on me as an X Division heel faction. 3. Sabin vs. Shane, which makes absolutely no sense! they fueded, like, months ago! plus, Shane just isn't X Division style. so like Lazarus said, why bill him in an X Division match?? Shane was doing great as a midcarder with the Franchise angle, but TNA royally screwed that pooch. Shane should've defeated Douglas and continued his act. no way should he be back in the X Division. 4. AMW vs. ???. if it doesn't turn out to be XXX, then we got screwed. AMW and Skipper/Daniels are really the only viable tag teams TNA has. but AMW vs. XXX was a helluva fued, so why not relive it for the new viewers. it may draw them in. otherwise, bring back the Naturals and create some decent teams. 5. Gut Check. X Division action, although its good to see Sharky back. hopefully, this'll mean something like getting a shot at the X Title. actually, i'd like to have seen a good midcard match here. every division in TNA is represented on this show except for that one. maybe they'll tack that on come Wednesday. 6. Jeff Jarrett will appear, and i'll not bother making a snide remark. the fact is, Jeff as champion only works if it leads up to a title loss. and since Jeff is so damned gunshy when it comes to jobbing, we could be in for a Reign of Terror. even though Jeff's the champ, the real angle is the guys gunning for him. Killings, Raven, Sabu, and even Dusty Freakin' Rhodes have viable fueds with him for the title (not that Dusty should win it). build up to Raven vs. Jarrett 2, as that'll make the most money. the crowd reactions to Raven now prove that he's as big a star as Jeff has ever been.

TNA News from the 6/7 Observer

i don't think Joe will show up in TNA, either. not in the forseeable future, at least. i think Fairplay could still be a good manager, though. he's decent enough when he's JUST A MANAGER. i'd rather have Fairplay managing Abyss instead of seeing the whole Goldy/Watts shit. Fairplay/Abyss could be the next Heenan/Andre pair. i'm kind of torn about the ring, though. on one hand, the hexagon would definitely make the shows look different and new. plus, it helps to keep shittier workers out of the ring. on the other hand, the 4 sided ring is more traditional. maybe TNA should keep them both, as i'd like to see certain guys work in both. oh yeah, and here's hoping Konnan gets released.
  21. normally i'd be against taking AJ out of the World Title picture. but if he's going to have a best of seven series with Christopher Fxcking Daniels, then i'm for it. i just hope that while AJ is out of the title scene, JJJ will let someone else fued with him for the title and not make them look like a bitch. i've read the Impact spoilers, and i'm no totally convinced that that's the case. personally, i think we may be in for another Reign of Terror from good old Leonard.

One And Only 6/2 PPV Thread

hello, kiddies. new to this board, but i was known at TNS. i tell ya, my computer gets a virus for a few weeks and when i get back online, TNS disappears (what happened?). so here i am. a lot of the old TNS posters are over at Revolution, but i really don't feel like dealing with the Jarrett/Russo homoerotic atmosphere that board has. and right now, i feel like giving my thoughts on tonight's show. i'll go thought it match by match. haven't posted in a while, mind you, so indulge me... -the X Cup (which is its own division, really) match was good, but i can't help but feel that Jerry Lynn is wasted in a fued with the Canadians. hopefully one day he'll get his due, even though Jeff, aka GOD, has something against him (and whats there to hate about Jerry Lynn???). still, i wanted for the X Cup to involve storylines and characters, and i'm getting that, so its not a bad thing. -Monte Brown is pretty good at what he does, but he doesn't seem to be doing anything angle-wise. my main beef here is the NYC vs. Kenney/Siaki. the NYC could be a good heel group, but they haven't given a good heel promo or even done anything remotely heelish. hitting people with coconuts and pouring Lucky Fxcking Charms on them does not a good heel make. -Frankie and Red should've got more time. ten minutes wasn't enough for them to put out a good match, and this is the X Division for Christ's sake. its supposed to be a prestigious title, so give them more time! it could and should have been better. keeping the title on Frankie is good though. long title reigns are your friend, TNA. -and then we have Abyss, utterly fxcking wasted in a fued with the most worthless man in pro wrestling today, Erik Watts, accompanied by the most worthless WOMAN in wrestling today, Goldilocks. oh yeah, and then there's D-Ray, who's pretty cool, i guess. he's no Shark Boy, though. booking Abyss as a monster doesn't involve making him a pawn in the Watts/Goldy fued, which shouldn't even be happening. Abyss should be destroying people in the title picture, or having a good brawl with guys like Monte Brown or Sandman. -Kid Kash is freakin' sweet. its like you can forget that he has a sucky partner holding the tag titles with him. he's that damn good. Dusty was good as well for the nostalgia, and the fans eat him up. when he's used as a special attraction, Big Dust is awesome. he's for TNA what Flair is on RAW. good to see the tag titles not SWITCH AT THE DROP OF A HAT. hotshotting titles for no reason pisses me off, which leads us to..... -the main event. first off, it was a lot like Raven/Jarrett. the match was incredible, but the ending blew HARD. i'm just as pissed at JJJ as any other mark, but i see some good to this, despite all the obvious bad. let's see, Harris should just go back to AMW, because i'm tired of seeing him pretend to be a world title contender. Styles and Killings should basically chase the title now, as JJJ has no use as the champ other than to PUT THEM OVER. its proven that having the babyfaces chase the heel is a bit more compelling, so maybe we can see the team of Killings/Styles challenge JJJ. of course, there's no gaurantee that's gonna happen. for all we know, JJJ may want to jerk himself off and fued with Roddy Piper for the next 4 months. as for Raven... i'll be honest with ya, he needs that fxcking belt. he's been raving for WELL OVER A YEAR now about destiny and the NWA Title, and Jarrett's been screwing him over the whole time. we NEED to see Raven vs. Jarrett start back up again, and for Raven to finally win the title from JJJ. Raven had mountains of heat coming into TNA. now he's just another of Jeff's bitches. personally, i want to see Raven vs. Jarrett again. it was TNA's strongest fued ever, and that's the best foot to put forward for the new viewers. in truth, Raven's the best guy to hold that title. he can do everything Jarrett can do and much much more. here's my feelings on Triple J as champion now. it was gonna happen, so i was never deluding myself with thinking Styles (or Truth) would get to keep it. i expected it, so i'm not that angry about it. however, i WILL be angry if Jeff decides to turn the company back into his own personal playground. i understand he wants to prove himself to be a big player, but how many companies and fellow wrestlers does he have to bury to do that? i once said that Jarrett would be more tolerable if he'd just change up his act. well, it seems he may be taking on a valet. if so, i'm happy about that. if not, and we're going to get the same old Jeff, then this marks the third reign of terror for TNA, which isn't a good thing. i'm holding out that in this reign we may see a different kind of JJJ (maybe one that actually has... y'know, CHARACTER), he won't bury his opponents, and he'll put someone over clean to lose the title (coughravencough). that is all.
