SEATTLE -- A group from Oklahoma City has agreed to buy the Seattle SuperSonics and the Seattle Storm, a source with the Sonics said Tuesday. The team scheduled a 3 p.m. press conference to announce the sale officially, and the source indicated the new ownership group plans to keep the Sonics and Storm in the Seattle region. The Basketball Club of Seattle -- owners of the NBA Sonics and WNBA Storm -- would not officially comment until the press conference. According to a report in The Seattle Times, the group is led by businessman Clay Bennett, who was previously on the San Antonio Spurs' board of directors and also helped attract the New Orleans Hornets to Oklahoma City after Hurricane Katrina. In February, majority owner Howard Schultz threatened to move or sell the city's oldest major league professional sports franchise, saying the team has lost about $60 million in the past five years and blaming a revenue-sharing lease at KeyArena with the city of Seattle that lasts until 2010. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

In as Oregon.

I don't think Lebron would want to be #23 in Chicago. New York pretty much fucked themselves out of being an attractive free agent destination. I think he's staying in Cleveland.
-
Stupid would've been taking a small forward. More from Sonics: Apparently Memphis wants Marcus Williams. Jordan wanted Gay but was outvoted.
-
"Memphis is making a deal to get to the 8th pick of the draft. This may be to get Rudy Gay. This would eliminate Gay getting to the 10th pick. The Grizzlies will give up Mike Miller to Houston for the 8th pick and Houston is sending Juwan Howard to the Grizzlies. Put the Grizzlies in the 8th spot on the draft board " Seattle Sonics website

Chicago may have taken Aldridge at #2 in order to get Thomas from Portland and something extra. Thats what I was hearing earlier anyways.
-
Apparently they moved up to get Aldridge. ESPN was reporting earlier that they would draft Thomas and then trade him to Chicago anyways so this speeds up the process. Im guessing they gave up #4 and #30 or maybe some of their newly aquired players.
-
The Seattle Sonics website is reporting Portland traded up to #2 which means most likely Morrison.
-
Dickie V still gets to bash foreign players though.
-
Why doesn't ESPN have the clock counting down like they do in the NFL Draft?
-
Roy does a lot of what Scottie did in Chicago. He shoots well from everywhere, plays defense, and loves to take charges. I don't think Charlotte could do wrong by picking him at #3.
-
Nate McMillan preferes Jarret Jack over Telfair anyways so this probably works out well. I think the Blazers really want to suck as bad as possible next year anyways in order to get Oden or Noah.

Oregon basketall was supposed to be good last year and top 3 in conference this year. Malik Hairston was one of the top 3 players in the class of 2004 that didn't go pro and Aaron Brooks was a pretty big time recruit. The team hasn't had a season above .500 since Luke Jackson graduated in 03'. If next season isn't 20+ wins and a tourney appearance then coach Ernie Kent will most likely be fired.
-
Its pretty much assumed that the lowest Morrison goes is whenever Portland picks. Whats with all the hate for him? Brandon Roy's stock has benefitted more than anyone in the tournament. He's one helluva player and I like how hes always looking to take the charge. He should make an immediate impact for whoever drafts him.

I'll keep Jermaine Oneal and Jason Kidd. 20 teams feels like too many.
-
I'll take Cleveland i spose.
-
As the reigning champion I will be back to defend my title.
-
If Mike Montgomery wants to stay on the West coast theres a very good chance that Ernie Kent at Oregon will be fired pretty soon.
-
If you're not watching Duke/UNC get to a tv now.
-
Derek Anderson is a faggot and no team should touch him.
-
Same shit different day. Sebastion Telfair attempted to board team plane with gun in his FUCKING PILLOWCASE! YOU FUCKING IDIOT!

Storied Franchises in Total Disarray
nogoodnick replied to JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan's topic in Sports
Portland Trailblazers. After 20 straight playoff seasons they now look like a lottery team for some time to come. Im sure everyone knows the problems theyve had. The franchise has no marquee player and no depth. DRAFT: The last few drafts have been questionable: drafting Telfair, trading down for Martell Webster and NOT taking Chris Paul, drafting Jarret Jack when you just got Telfair. They also drafted Kryhapa and Monia who both play the same position and are behind D Miles and Rueben Patterson. FREE AGENCY/TRADES: Giving Zach Randolph near max money looks like a mistake. He isn't going to be much better than he is now. Darius Miles also got a fat contract while having achieved nothing but suspended a few times. Im sorry if I'm not wowed by Steve Blake, Juan Dixon, and Charles Smith. They traded Rasheed who was a fan favorite and ended up with broken Theo Ratliff. They got nothing for Shareef when they let him go for free. Same with Damon. Going back a little farther they traded Jermaine O'neal and swapped Brian Grant for Shawn Kemp. There were also numerous trades they were afraid to pull the trigger on: VC, Kidd, Pierce. The Positives: Nate McMillan is a good coach. Thank god they fired Mo Cheeks who was in over his head from the beginning. They are young and have tons of potential. Miles has looked pretty solid this year when he's healthy. The key to the future is developing the last few draft classes. -
Maybe the nation should pay attention to the NFC champs and NFL's MVP. Anyone who doesn't know who Shaun Alexander is by now is a god damn idiot. I think it will be a great game and Im picking Seattle to win a close one. Of course I wouldn't be too upset if Bettis and Cowher got a ring.

Ever since Kobe hit a game winner in week one Ive said he is the best in the league.
-
I would definitely like Seattle to win, but theres no way I can be angry if Jerome Bettis gets a Superbowl win.
