I was hanging around the lower echelon of playoff teams until Jermaine O'neal got hurt. With him I probably wouldn't be at the very top but I'd be a helluva lot better with 16, 8 and 2 blocks. No one on my team is untouchable if anyone has offers.

Ohhhh. Sacramento is a shitty city though. The Maloofs want out. For some reason I thought that meant the Kings of the NHL.

Who, me? What for? The knock on OKC? Indians? Fair weather Sonics fans? Anyways. The key to Portland's early success was among other things James Jones and what he brought. In his first game back they take down LA. Hopefully this is the start of another run at the playoffs. They are still a terrible rebounding team though. Travis Outlaw's one dribble and pull up jumper is just about unstoppable. He's a solid shooter but it's his freakish length and athleticism which make it impossible to defend. *the officials certainly tried to hand this one to the Lakers.

As a Blazers fan I always considered the Sonics an afterthought or for a time that team Shawn Kemp plays for. I never felt sorry for them because I live in Portland and have met about 4 Sonics fans in my life. After reading Simmons it is apparent that there are actually Sonics fans out there and they actually care. I still don't give a shit about them but I've been to Seattle numerous times and will visit many more in the future. Great city. I will however likely NEVER step foot in Oklahoma City. There is nothing about OKC that is even remotely interesting to me. Granted I've never been there, and as I previously stated hopefully never will go there, but how in the hell can David Stern rationalize having a team in a state so shitty the Indians were forced to live there. Oklahoma doesn't need a team. And if they did have to have one at least take one from somewhere else shitty like Sacramento.

Boozer is from fucking ALASKA. I'm sure Salt Like is actually very nice for him. And by all accounts Cleveland is a shit hole.

If Sheed had Michael Jordan's drive and determination he would be the greatest power forward ever maybe. If MJ had Sheed's drive he would be J.R. Rider.

I don't want to see Outlaw go for merely an upgrade at PG. If Fernandez is as good as advertised, Roy will be playing much more point guard in the future, so I see no reason to trade Outlaw, who is is a great sixth man, for Devin Harris. The Blazers will have to make a move at some point, but hopefully it involves Miles and/or LaFrentz. I like idea of trading multiple solid guys for 1 good one, but Harris is not good enough to warrant depletin your much valued depth.

I'm with you Ripper. Did Woodson call the play in where Joe Johnson launches a deep prayer with 2 seconds left and down by only 1? Did he tell JJ to dribble out the shot clock and try and beat Brandon Roy, resulting in an airball and a 24 second violation? Because those are two of the shittiest plays you could finish a close game with. Joe did put up buckets of points but that is some lousy coaching. When he is fired, who do you see as a viable replacement? Also of the West playoff picture looks awesome right now. If it started today (I might be wrong on the matchups a little): New Orleans vs Portland Phoenix vs Golden State Dallas vs LA Lakers Denver vs San Antonio Utah is just inches out of it and Houston isn't too far back either. If Kidd ends up out West its gonna be nuts.

Hooray for no TMac.

Having watched the entire Portland/Boston game, its frustrating to have a team get superstar treatment for 3 players. Calls that went for Allen, KG, and Pierce didn't go for Roy and Aldridge. Poorly officiated game in my opinion. On the other hand, Ray Allen is a stone cold killer and could not be stopped. I've rarely seen him play on live tv, but he is amazing when he's hitting it.

Not sure on the exact words but: Homer: "But every time I learn something new, it pushes out something old. Remember that time I took a home wine-making course and forgot how to drive?" Marge: You were drunk! Homer: And how!

Oregon RB Jonathan Stewart has declared for the NFL Draft. Projected anywhere from 2nd to 5th running back taken. 1771 yards this year, 11 tds. He will be a combine monster: 5-11, 235 lbs. 40 time 4.34 Bench 410 Squat 555 Clean 402

Portland's biggest asset right now is quality depth. Bringing Jarret Jack, Travis Outlaw, James Jones and Channing Frye off the bench is difficult for other second units to contend with. If Boston isn't at full strength they'll have their hands full. The Blazers are going 10 deep right now.

Blazers smash the Warriors. Thats 17 of 18. Sunday begins a 7 game Eastern Conference road trip in Toronto. @ Toronto @ New Jersey @ Boston @ Miami @ Orlando @ Atlanta @ New Orleans I would call winning 4 out of 7 a success. Probably can beat NJ, Miami and maybe Atlanta. They have had the Hornets number though.

So why does West Virginia need to sign some high profile coach? This dude just smacked mighty Oklahoma around for 4 quarters. And I bet he'll work for cheap. Perhaps might not be able to recruit, but he did just win the Fiesta Bowl.
-
I was the most surprised to see George Selvie being a complete non factor for the whole game. I don't even know if he has a tackle.
-
Damn, if Oregon had figured out how to play like this a month ago they would be in a BCS game. Justin Roper was expected to be the 2nd or 3rd string QB next year, but he's playing well in his first start. This game is over.

Make it 12.
-
The 11th penalty of the game just got called in the Oregon/USF game. It's still the first quarter.

The Blazers may come back down to earth tommorrow. On the road at Utah, and Nate Mcmillan is going to be attending a funeral.
-
Rick Neuheisel named UCLA head coach. I like the hire, he's proven he can coach in the Pac 10 with much success.
-
Blazers 10 in a row. 6 straight against playoff teams from last year. Watch out western conference. The NBA's youngest team learned how to win.
-
Its being reported that UCLA officials have flown to Eugene to meet with coach Mike Bellotti. I'm not sure why he would go now since he's turned down better jobs in the past and he makes a lot more than Dorrell. It would be easier to recruit at UCLA however. Also Norm Chow has officially withdrawn his name from consideration.

Blazers get 9th straight win and Brandon Roy goes for 25, 9, and 8 ast. He's working on a 3rd straight Western Conference POW.

Damn I tried to snag TJ Ford off waivers but Team Random Hero got him. Why was he dropped? It looks like he'll be back soon.
