    This week in the NBA

The Blazers just beat Golden State and are now on a 5 game winning streak. The last two at Utah and home against Golden State they completely controlled the game, even without Lamarcus Aldridge. They're still really young and don't win on the road much, but they're gaining a lot of confidence and everyone on the team is playing well. James Jones coming back from injury has been a huge boost.

    TSM NBA H2H: Year 5

I almost picked up Travis Outlaw a week or so ago when he dropped 20 but I thought he would go back to a slump. He's got 20 for the 4th time in 5 games, on 8-10 shooting through 3 quarters.

    Your most hated/liked for 2007

I'll give you Missouri and Hawaii, but Kansas is a shitastic team who lost to the only good team they played.

NFL Week 14 - Dolphins? More like LOLphins! Amirite?

I didn't think it would be possible but the coaching life-cycle is being shortened even more apparently. Billick may not be long for this league either. Does anyone have a short list of top available candidates? Norm Chow, Kirk Ferentz?

    BCS selection announcement

Oregon State beat Oregon and finished with a better conference record, alone at 3rd place... and the 4th place Ducks got picked by the Sun Bowl sending OSU to the Emerald. Apparently the Sun Bowl invoked their no repeats clause since OSU played there last year. Oregon State people are spinning the snub in a positive way. They get to go to San Francisco instead of shitty El Paso and play shitty Maryland instead of pretty good South Florida. I think they might be right.

    BCS selection announcement

I have no problem with Illinois being in the Rose Bowl. It was forseeable that they would want to preserve the Big 10/Pac 10 matchup. If there is any team I don't like, its Kansas.

NFL week twelve: Turkey Day Cliches

That game was so awful and boring that the only highlights on ESPN are mud, Ricky Williams getting stepped on, and the field goal.

In the defense of every Pac 10 team they have all been depleted by injuries. UCLA has a new random assclown playing every week at qb it seems. USC lost Booty for a while and half their O-line. Cal was without Longshore and Desean Jackson hasn't been healthy in weeks. For Oregon, Dennis Dixon was only the tip of the iceberg. Oregon State has played pretty much the whole season without Pre-season All American WR/PR Sammie Stroughter. There's a reason ASU is 1st in the conference and it's because they've been hit the least. Although they did lose 1000 yard rusher Ryan Torain. It also doesn't hurt to have a better coach than all of the above teams with the exception of probably USC.

Hmm. Oregon vs Oklahoma? At first glance that is a dream matchup for the Sooners. However Brady Leaf did come close to beating Oklahoma in the Holiday Bowl 2 years ago. He also threw a last minute interception in the red zone to seal the game. He isn't a great fit for the offense but he has thrown nearly 300 passes in his career for 1600 yards 9 td 9 ints and started a few games. So its not like he's some schmuck from the end of the bench. But he does have the footspeed of a cow.

    NFL WEEK ELEVEN- Proving grounds.

Bill Belicheck is Emperor Palpatine and Tom Brady is his Darth Vader. Belicheck is a hooded mastermind who seems to have complete control and Brady is his tall, helmeted enforcer. I don't know what Randy Moss is. Grand Moff Tarkin?

    NFL WEEK ELEVEN- Proving grounds.

I've become a Pats fan this year. I'm not jumping on their bandwagon cause they're good. I'm jumping on because I love arrogance. And Randy Moss.

The one thing in Tebow's favor is how much hype this guy has. Everyone knew who he was coming into the season and expected him to be great. And he delivered. In my opinion him and McFadden are the two biggest names left.

How about Jonathan Stewart if he can come up big these next 2 weeks. It looks like hes healthy and should be getting 30+ carries. UCLA and OSU have good defenses, but he rushes for 100 pretty much every game. He should finish with 1500 yards. With Dixon back there people kinda took him for granted, now he gets a chance to prove himself. Not saying he should win it, but if he can carry Oregon to two more wins he certainly has a case to be there. Season stats: 1273 yards 6.2 ypc 10 TD's

Now with your hypothetical playoff system how would pay outs work? Would schools be paid to play in each round of the playoffs or make ticket money or what? In the current system there is the bowl payout, which is divided amongst the other schools in the conference. Curious as to how would a playoff deal with that.

Levels you hate in game you love

Halo. The Library. So repetitive. Shoot, hide and recharge, shoot, hide and recharge... Totally agree with NCAA Football 08 recruiting. I used to enjoy it but it became so much work that it took away from playing the game.

    Mass Effect

Maybe I'm too used to KOTOR but I'm just not feeling Mass Effect. I've only played 20 minutes so far but I don't really like the weapons or the combat system that much. This could be due to the fact that I've played many, many hours of Halo 3 and COD 4 this month and I'm too used to aiming in a general direction and stuff dying. Update: I ended up playing for another 4 hours. The story is pretty cool so far but there hasn't been a whole lot of action. Mostly I'm just tracking down side quests. I've gotten used to the combat system a little. Monstly I just send my team mates up ahead to do my dirty work. Then when they die I come in and mop up. I'm lazy even in video games.

    This week in the NBA

The Blazers were up 25 in the second quarter and held the Sixers completely scoreless for 9:09. So I went to sleep on the couch for a bit. I woke up to find them up only 3. And they fucking lost. Godamnit.

Who knows about his knee, but apparently Greg Oden has put on 30 lbs of muscle while maintaining his 7.8% body fat. He's weighing in at about 280 now according to Jason Quick, Blazers beat writer. Edit: yeah I gotta look for some good news tonight.

In Brady Leaf's defense (can't believe I'm saying that) he is the WORST fit for that offense ever and he was hurt. Ducks fans have hated on him for years, no reason to expect greatness now. They probably would've benched him but the 3rd stringer tore his ACL a few weeks ago.
