After hearing where Louisville was seeded, I was anticipating a 3 seed for Kentucky. I'm content with the 2 seed since they screwed the pooch today. Nobody to blame but UK. The Cards flat out got shit on. The two other CUSA teams are a 7 and a third is an 11. So what the selection committe is saying that if the number 6 team in the country didn't win their conference tournament then they would have been at best a 7? Fuck that.

What a nail-biter day in Kentucky. First the Louisville-Memphis game comes down to missed free throws and then LSU plays the game of their lives and pushs UK to overtime. One of two things will happen in the SEC chapionship tomorrow. Either UK will blow out Florida or Florida narrowly beats UK. I just can't see Kentucky winning a close one.

Welcome to the club. I know it is early in the 2nd half, but West Virginia is already up by 22 on BC. In no way, shape or form does BC deserve a number 1 seed.

The local minor leage baseball team plays at Louisville Slugger Field, which I don't mind at all. Papa John's seemed to have enough sense to call the new Louisville football stadium Papa John's Cardinal Stadium instead of just Papa John's Stadium. And I'm obviously biased, but Rupp Arena is one of the best arena names I've ever heard. My college's football field has one of the worst names I've ever heard: Applebee's Field at Rawling's Stadium. Georgetown didn't even have an Applebee's until late 2001/early 2002.

That was an ugly, ugly, ugly game. That's all I can say. Sparks is great when he's open. You put a defender on him and he can fall apart. Back in high school, around 2001 I believe, Chris Gaither shut down Sparks in the region tournament, which helped my high school win the tournment. Now Gaither left Temple after one year to play NAIA ball at Georgetown while Sparks is starting for one of the most respected teams in the NCAA. Go figure.

At my university (Georgetown College), athletics are a pretty big deal. Football players are gods due to their 2 or 3 NAIA National Titles in the span of 5 or so years. Men's and women's basketball are kind of even, due to both being Final Four teams. Volleyball is just behind that. All the other sports are just kind of there. Even when the men's tennis team was a top 25 program and hosted the national tournament, nobody gave a shit. Students do get free admission with the student IDs, though. I can't say that I complained about that.

That was how I decided to pick him to win on the Yahoo thing. I picked my favorite last season like that, too. Andy looked like my old roommate, so I was pulling for him.

I live in Louisville and I have no idea where the Davis Arena is. All I can tell you is don't go to the West End and avoid Dixie Highway if you have the opportunity.

That was an incredible half. Watching Sparks go on fire was great. CBS showed a stat that said he shot something like 11% in all three UK losses. I forgot what they said he shot in their wins, but needless to say it was significantly better. UK has won the SEC regular season title (not that it was terribly difficult this year) and yes, Bama is tied with LSU in the West. Today was the first time I paid real close attention to the Tide and while they're not a bad team they are definately not as good as their fans believe.

The Cats win ugly again after coming back from 14 down. Thankfully Sparks decided to go off and score 26 and go 7 for 10 from three point range. I'm still not confident about March, but watching their play in the last few games, despite being down 14 points today, makes me feel a little better.

Krzyzewski did the same thing in Duke's game against Wake Forest Sunday. Granted nobody got hurt in that case, but it doesn't change the fact that Coach K sent in a goon to make physical fouls. The difference I see is this: Chaney admitted he was wrong and while his self-imposed punishment was only one game, at least he admitted his fault. Coach K said he was glad to be able to share that moment with Patrick Davidson, where Davidson was out of the game two minutes after it started. That just gives me another reason to hate Dook.

Was #2 the one the original cartoon went by? If it was, then that is the one I follow.

I realize what the problem is. The hype of Kentucky basketball (7 titles, 25 SEC titles, all-time winningest team..blah blah) seems to have an adverse effect on the players. Then there was the hype of the freshman class. The teams seems to think that everybody should roll over for them but the reality is that because of all the hype it makes the scrubs want to win more, and thus UK is put to the test by teams who can't win more than 5 conference games. Hype isn't always a bad thing. Hell, my sig is a piece of UK hype. I've bought into it. It makesme love the team more. But there comes a point when you can't rest on past achievments and go out on the court and actually play and then all the titles and past wins don't mean shit. Somebody needs to tell UK that.

Kentucky manages to pull out an 8 point win over Auburn, a team that only has 3 SEC wins. This habit of overlooking weaker teams needs to stop or there is going to be a repeat of last year when the UAB midgets knocked us out in the second round. Tubby says Rondo is day-to-day with bruised ribs. Hopefully that will heal up quick and he won't miss any games.

Kentucky is only up by 7 against freakin' Auburn. What happened to that team that played Miss. State on Saturday?

Kyle Petty should have retired years ago so the soiling of the Petty name could have stopped.

I don't know who that team was that played in Rupp Arena last night, but I wish they would put on a Kentucky uniform more often. Last night was about as good as I've seen Kentucky play all season. Maybe 6:00 am practices aren't a bad thing.

No shit. I don't think anybody but the blindly loyal UK fans thought that they were a Top 3 team. I'll feel a little better when they drop a few spots. They should be a two seed come March, at best.

My blind loyalty to UK and reality are conflicting here. The blind loyalty says Elite Eight minimum. Reality says second round, if they are a 1 seed. I'll give them third round at best. I'll agree with you on Kansas.

Here are the WWF shows I went to: I met Kerry Von Erich at that show and got him to autograph a poster. I've still got it somewhere. That was the first WWE show I had been to in 10 years and I had a blast. I forgot how fun live shows could be. These are the USWA shows I attended (Graham, I've emailed you the results with WWF wrestlers involved): I don't have results for this one. I met Jeff Jarrett at this show. I got my picture taken with him and he let me hold the Southern Title. That was a pretty big deal for a 12-year old. I got Richard lee and Moondog Spike's autograph on my program. I should probably keep that one in a safe place.
