Was there a reason why Rick Rude did not get more of a run on top? He seemed to have it all but I do not remember him interacting with Hogan much and aside from working with Warrior at Summerslam 90 I do not remember much in the way of WWF main event programs. Also, what lead to him jumping to WCW in the early 90s? (I seem to remember the storyline reason was that he was suspended for making fun of the Bossman's mother.)

Just finished watching this and it was not the burial I expected it to be. Steve Lombardi, Ted Dibiase and Hogan seemed to be the ones who said the most good things about Warrior, Lombardi especially. At one point you would have thought that Warrior's last name was Patterson with the kind of verbal fellatio Lombardi gave him saying that after Warrior won the title he matured as a man, improved on the microphone, turned into a good performer and was a good draw. Heenan and Bruce Pritchard were in total burial mode. Ric Flair did not say much but it was obvious he dislikes the Warrior highly. Slaughter was halfway between the two, and I am not counting Vince because Vince is Vince. Jim Ross talked a lot about what "we" tried to do for him, but Ross was not even in the company for Warrior first two runs so I do not know why they had him talking like he was there. Several people talked about how they had to book short matches for Warrior because he could not go in the ring. They made it sound like it was a miracle that the Warrior was able to survive in the workrate intensive environment of late 80s - early 90s WWF. If half of the guys on the DVD say that Warrior had great charisma, was crazy over with fans, and could work good matches with the right people then wouldn't that just be booking to his strengths. Another thing that stuck out was Vince and co. made it sound like it was ridiculous for Warrior to sue about his character and he was an idiot for trying. But then at the end of the feature disclaimer popped up at the end saying "Ultimate Warrior is a trademark of Ultimate Creations Inc." Does anyone know what the result of that case was? It will be interesting to see the two sides reactions to this. On the one hand I cannot imagine that the Warrior will be too happy and will probably right a long web commentary about how Vince is afraid of him and that he will not kiss up to Vince, etc. On the WWE side what do they do if this DVD sells like crazy? I went to Best Buy today and got it at around 6 pm and there were only a couple left. Maybe Warrior can come back for another run like Animal.

IIRC there was all kinds of talk of the WWF brand on all of the Viacom networks and media outlets. Not just wrestling, but WWF developed sitcom type shows, wrestlers on current shows, as well as reality shows (I think when Cena first started with the comapny it was on some reality show called "Manhunter"). WWF was also trying to push WWF New York and Smackdown! records was on the horizon. USA ended up pulling out of the negotiations because they could not match the kind of deal that Viacom was offering and TNN ended up winning by default. My memory can be spotty and this may be wrong, feel free to correct.

They might as well team up Doug Basham and Sylvain Grenier. I do not think Sylvain has been on tv since the trade and I only remember seeing Danny Basham on Raw during the lumberjack match. If they would have kept Dupree (and teamed him w/Sylvain) and Danny Basham on SD the tag scene would be 5 times better. Too bad about Matt Cappotelli. I bet the Thrillseekers would have been called up soon and been thrown into a feud with MNM. Now we will probably have to endure Road Warriors 2005 for another 2 months.

What is the point of having Animal and Heidenreich win the titles and then have them only beat jobbers? If they wanted to sell DVDs they could have done this and not devalued the tag titles even worse than already. MNM has a good match with Benoit and Booker while the Champs are wrestling guys like this it is 1991 and on Wrestling Challenge.

If we could only get Voltron on DVD... With Thundercats coming soon it seems there are only a few classic 80's cartoons without DVDs.

What kind of a deal does Meanie have? I figured that they just brought him in as a one time shot.

Reclaiming the Redskins

Right now the bulk of the people interested are fans. But, if they are releasing this on July 4th and Spielberg has said that they want this to be a franchise then they will have to change some things to get mainstream America interested or it will bomb. Which translates to no tape decks in '07. Edit: Also, you know there will be a huge push with toys and videogames aimed at kids that will require them to update things from the 80's. I am looking forward to this movie, but am not fooling myself into thinking that it will be better than the original movie.

Megatron will not be a gun. I do not know if it has been announced as to what he will be, but it has been announced that he will not be a gun. Soundwave will be a helicopter.

How feasible is it that Cleveland could get one of those three? Any of those three would be an upgrade over Z. LeBron and Eddy Curry (if he is healthy and keeps improving) would be a nasty combo. If I am the Bulls I do everything I can to lock up Curry and Chandler long term.

Well, logically, tonight would be the best night for Edge to use his title shot after HITC (unless they have Kane destroy him), and because it was said if Edge was drafted he lost his title shot. (I could be wrong about that but seem to recall it). I would not be surprised to see Edge go to SD with the title, or Cena traded back to SD. I just do not see Cena taking over on Raw for Batista. Cena has barely cracked the second hour and has had no interaction with the top guys (unless you count Bischoff). I can understand wanting to keep a matchup fresh, but they have booked Cena to be midcard and nowhere near the ME. A confrontation, staredown or even just a talk with Batista, HHH, HBK or even Ric Flair would have done a lot for him. In just two weeks Angle has slingshotted past Cena on the card.

Hopefully this is setting up Shelton moving to Smackdown and into the ME scene. Somehow I doubt it. What a waste...

I am convinced that Matt Hardy's gimmick when he starts wrestling again will be like the old Adam Sandler sketch on SNL. "This is the part of the show when I pull my cell phone out in the ring and call Lita to hang up on her when she answers".

At Survivor Series before Big Show came out and won the title I thought they were going to go all the way with Test. 6 months later he was in a lower card tag team that never even won the titles in an age of once a month title changes.
