If Cor Von is gone I think that could mean two things. 1 - The roster has to get fatter. It lost a top face in Benoit and now a top heel in Cor Von. 2 - A longer reign for Nitro. If Punk wins the title now or at Summerslam who is he going to defend it against? Mabel?

The funny thing is, I think they could have made money off of Khali as champ earlier this year. When they had that string of PPVs one right after the other he could have beat Cena and then jobbed it right back to him 3 weeks later. Road Warrior Batista Luger needs to win the title. I think even holding off until Summerslam is a risk. Say what you want about Batista but he is still mightily over. Edit - On WWE.com they have a picture of Khali holding the belt and he is holding it upside down. Ha! What a dick.

WWE stock is actually up a bit today. I am surprised by that. Interesting to see what happens if Congress should get involved at some point. So, what is the general consensus? Did WWE come out of the report today unscathed, minor hit, or major hit?

If Khali does win the belt and then defends against Batista they will be taking Batista into Luger territory if he does not win. Why not give Kane the title? He is over and would do a lot for him.

Hold on a second. Yes, you can tear a muscle if you use roids or not. But, using roids increases the likelihood and severity of the injury. Guys are tearing muscles right now at a rate most people stub their toes. Where there is smoke there is fire. They have to have some faces besides CM Punk, Balls, Boogey and Dreamer. The Miz will be pushed as the # 2 face of the brand within 2 months or even worse be the next challenger for Johnny Nitro.

I think the District Attorney probably has very little to do with the case at this point and that is the reason for his ignorance. Why waste tax payer dollars with a big investigation on an open and shut case? The only people with any doubts are overzealous marks.

Vince needs to stay in seclusion for the next year. Average Joe is holding Vince responsible for this. I am not saying that is right or wrong, just the truth. Listen to the Jim Rome show, even local sports talk and they were all talking about how Vince is scum. Vince rides these guys until they are done takes them out back and shoots them. Vince fills them up with drugs. Vince is the most evil man in the world. It has all been said in the past two weeks. Also, if you have WWE stock I would unload it asap. I do not see things getting any easier for them in the next few months. If these toxicology reports come back and Benoit was juiced to the gills then you know Congress is going to be involved sooner rather than later.

After Cena beats Lashley at GAB (you know it is going to happen) they should book a Cena v. Hardy program at Summerslam with a ladder match. In terms of merchandise and crowd reaction Hardy is the clear # 2 face of Raw right now. Might as well strike while the iron is hot and before HHH comes back.

You can really tell why Cena is the Golden Boy after seeing that. Great in public and tows the company line extremely well. Jericho has earned himself a nice raise and a big push with these appearances. Vince should be kissing the ground Jericho walks on right now.

Except the 'old geezers' based their belief on the fact the Eddie and company were 'too small', which had nothing to do with why those three, at least, didn't 'make it'. With Eddie, WWE were happy with his performance but he couldn't take handle the pressure at that time in his life. Jericho was never given a chance to 'make it'; he was only ever given the Unified title so he could lose it to HHH. Rey was mishandled from day one of his 'run at the top', and was always going to be, because of the size bias in WWE, regardless of how well he kept getting over with the fans. Yes, those three didn't 'make it', but in the case of Jericho and Rey, WWE were never going to allow them to because it either didn't fit their plans or because of size bias. Had Jericho and Rey actually been given the ball and not been handled the way they were, we might have found out for sure if they had had what it takes to be accepted on top by the fans. One thing that I can't help but note is that it was only severe amounts of steroids that allowed Eddy, Benoit and Mysterio to grow to the size needed to be credible main event wrestlers. I think Jericho's an exception but his extended layoff is going to be taken as a sign that he doesn't exhibit the necessary passion for the wrestling industry. Rey Mysterio honestly I feel IS to small naturally to main-event. I'm going to get flamed for that I'm sure. Watching Eddy/Rey from Halloween Havoc '97 though, it looks like Mysterio isn't heavy enough to realistically keep Eddy's shoulders to the mat without a KO. In the same way no one would buy Oscar De La Hoya beating Mike Tyson (not the greatest, but I needed a name heavyweight), size does matter to a limited extent in a wrestling ring. That's not to say you can't sell Mysterio. You can put him in big programs and make a ton of money. I just don't think you can credibly continuously book him against your 6'4" heavyweights on an extended basis. I think the problem they run into with Mysterio is that if the book him on size alone then he is stuck in the cruiser division and that is never going to be a focal point of WWE programming. Based on his overness and the demographic he draws they have to book him at the top. They need to get an new belt for ECW. Maybe if the title looked like a world title and not like something made in a basement it would be taken a bit more seriously. The title belt looked best when Terry Funk won it at Barely Legal.

I think Johnny Nitro is mic skills away from being a mega star. Too bad Paul Heyman is not around any more to work with him. There are dollars to be made with Nitro. Nitro also needs a better gimmick. This "Hollywood A-lister" crap just smacks of midcardiness. Amen to that. He's a decent worker and many have said he deserves a push but man his gimmick simply sucks and is about as boring as it can get. The gimmick was fine, especially in light of how much attention/play in the mainstream media "stars" like Paris Hilton/Lohan/Spears get. Ahving a "cocky" wrestler has always been gold for a heel. The gimmick fizzled when A) he was depushed (sec. to Melina's backstage issues?) B) His was separated from his posse (Mercury b/c drugs and Melina). Obviously he needs improvment on the mike, but I enjoy his offense which is often unique, at least in the WWE. Heavyweight champ may be a little too much too fast, but he was really good as IC champ until he was made a whipping boy for a returning bloated Jeff Hardy. I think we have already seen the gimmick evolve a bit. When he talks about CM Punk he does not talk about how CM Punk is a loser because he does not party with Paris Hilton. He talks about how he is a loser because his body is not as ripped as Nitro's. I do not anticipate a long reign for Nitro, but I think having him lose the title at GAB would be a mistake.

Wrestlers on steroids is old news. But, wrestlers who murder their family and were found to be obtaining steroids by the truckload while the company says they tested clean is not. With steroids being such a hot issue I have thought that pro wrestling was a powder keg for the past few years. This will be the spark.

First thing I thought as well, Benoit had to be selling the roids to others. If he was juicing that much his heart would have been the size of a beach ball. WWE is screwed, their reports of a clean drug test, and their whole system, is a joke now.

Can you give the Cliff notes version?

I cannot help but wonder if Benoit told his son they were going to "play wrestle" and then he just put him in the crossface and choked the life out of him. Count me in as someone else who has wondered if Benoit killed himself in his wrestling gear. The reports we got were that the scene was "bizarre" but Bibles by the bodies do not count as bizarre to me. Something is not being reported.

The steroid talk just will not go away. How long until someone from Congress wants to make a name for himself and goes after wrestling?
