I think it incredibly naive to think middle class kids don't deal with these issues. While it's streching things for all of it to be happening at this one school, the entire point of the show is to try and tackle every "issue" that teenages could face. Sort of like afterschool specials with a regular cast. BTW Placebo, they're coming out with Season 3 on DVD in March. It's going to have the abortion episode that The N banned.

They always flip flop on what actually constitutes getting eliminated. Sometimes they get to go back in, sometimes they don't. I assume it all depends on if the guy has an important spot to do later in the match.

What I was talking about was that the plan since at least August '97 was for Austin to win the title at WM XIV. Originally he was supposed to win it from Bret, but after Bret went to WCW the main event slot went to Shawn. Owen's fued with Shawn didn't pan out because Shawn wouldn't do a job to build heat for the fued. The WWF likely didn't use the "Owen broke Austin's neck" deal to it's full potential since Austin didn't want to feud with Owen. You can say Austin being a backstage politician was the reason Owen didn't get a run with him in '98, but Austin had nothing to do with the Shawn-Owen feud. Where does come into this?

It's a really good movie. Feels like a '70's espionage thriller (and I mean that as a compliment). I've heard some people say that they think the reason it's so good is because Spielberg had to rush the finish it in time for the release date and thus didn't have the chance to overthink it or add in some of the usual "Spielberg touches".

2 things: 1 - at work, I have to listen to regular radio (not allowed to hook up my XM receiver and probably couldnt get a signal anyway)..I found it laughable that the station we were listening too drop the audio of the word "Phunk" everytime in "Don't Phunk With My Heart"...If you are going to have to do that so many times, I dont know why they'd even bother playing the song anyway..makes no sense...all in the name of "100% family friendly radio".. Hell, the local radio here just played "Don't Mess With My Heart", the cleaner version they willingly recorded.

Ebert gave Thumbs Down to The Usual Suspects because.... (dramatic pause) he hated the ending.

Austin never really forgave Owen for the piledriver at SS '97 and he was very cold (no pun intended) to the idea of using the neck injury as the imputus for a feud in '98. But again, that has nothing to do with why Owen feud with Shawn never panned out. Owen's problems with Shawn were different. After Montreal, Shawn held both the WWF World Title and the European Title. Owen was supposed to beat Shawn for the Euro title to set him up as #1 Contender. But Shawn didn't want to do the job (I don't think it was personal, Shawn was just an ass and wouldn't do a job to anyone.) and instead had the "fake" match with HHH to transfer the fued over to him. So basically, the feud didn't happen because Shawn wouldn't do the initiall job in order to build heat for a ppv rematch (which he would have won).

My Humps is horrible. I've was a not big No Doubt fan. I could stand to listen to most of their songs on the radio without turning the station (which for me is saying a lot), but I always assumed that Gwen was carring the guys. Well, since Love, Angel, Music, Baby came out my respect for the other guys has gone up a thousand percent. Cool is the first single I've heard from that album that I can stand to listen to. What You Waiting For, If I Was a Rich Girl, and Hollaback Girl are some of the worst crap I've ever heard.

That's not just Jamie Foxx, everybody gets that "Oscar Winnner" tagged attached to their name. This may turn out decent. But when I heard that Michael Mann was actually directing, it just seems like a waste of his time.

Maybe not for technical quality, but for crowd heat yes. Look at 'em when Roddy gets the sleeper on Adrien. They're jumping out of their seats and throwing crap into the air.

I can't believe were getting into this... but, I've seen plenty of Bee's of ESPN and it was my understanding that the kids can start over but they can't change any letters they've already said. For instance if a kid has to spell mnemonic and says : "mnemonic, m-n-u-m-o" and then stops to ask questions again (definition, origin, etc.), when they start over they have to use the letters they previously said (m-n-u-m-o). I don't know how that makes sense since the kid is already wrong and will get the bell anyway, but that's how it works. It the kids were allowed to start over and correct themselves, it'd be happening all the time and I don't think I've ever seen it happen once.

In the Spelling Bee on ESPN, they wait until the kid finishes the word before ringing the bell.

Actually, that helps the argument that it was for Nash, HHH, Hall, & Waltman.
