I was marking out for the Eddy-Rey match at Halloween Havoc '97.

Sad, just sad. R.I.P. Eddy

I thought at the begining that maybe she walked off the radio show because she thought the psychic was Clay Aikin. But yeah, she's crazy.

Here in Texas (maybe different in other regions), I saw a TV ad last night and all it said was that the McRib was back. Nothing about a farewell tour. Edit: Okay, today I heard the end of the radio ad.

Hey, it was his "duty to protect their booty".

Steamboat has a book? Edit: Stupid Me. I replied before I read the entire post.

It was also Microsoft's second choice. They wanted "The End Of The World As We Know It," but R.E.M. turned them down. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you kidding or being serious? I could see arguments for both <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Serious. It was on their Behind The Music episode. The narrator talked about how much money they turned down and Michael Stipe said something about how Microsoft was sombody they just didn't want to sell out to.

"I Will Always Love You" being used as a wedding song when it's about a breakup. It was also Microsoft's second choice. They wanted "The End Of The World As We Know It," but R.E.M. turned them down.

I remember the week Nitro had nothing but backstge vignettes and pretaped bits for the first hour. We never heard any announcers and they didn't go live to the arena until the second hour. Always thought that was wierd.

Is it the bootcamp match from MSG? If it is, I think it's on the 2004 HOF DVD.

People were expecting that the blowoff to a 17 month angle would play out in the right way. Instead, typical political bullshit won out.

Yeah, I heard it was "bad intigestion". Nash was able to get sympathy backstage because Meltzer said he has a legit history of heart disease in his family, but his "heart scare" put the "boy who cried wolf" tag on him (at least in my mind since Starrcade was what came to mind when I heard about what happened to him over the weekend).
-
I agree with Starrcade '97. Second would be Starrcade '98 (the last WCW ppv I ever got) for what was going on politically that led to Nash beating Goldberg. I don't miss WCW. Mostly because for every good thing, there were 5 things that made me want to pull my hair out or kick my television.

Didn't Matt and Trey want Team America to originally be a direct parody of The Day After Tomorrow? I think this was probably them getting that out of their system.

A movie has little chance when half the audience has made up their mind that it's "liberal prop" before ever seeing it. I thought it was very good, but I guess that's not worth very much. BTW, the movie is not the ensemble piece that the ads seem to be making it out as. Strathairn and Clooney are clearly the two lead and people in the ads like Robert Downey, Jr. and Patrica Clarkson aren't really that prominent in the movie. I'd probably say Frank Langella has the third most important role. I mention this because in the credits, Straitharn is given top billing and eveyone else is alphabetical (including Clooney). I just was supprised that they seem to be downplaying how much Clooney is in the movie. This is from the movie. Murrow & Co. have just read a postitve review of their show from someone in the N.Y. Times Guy #1: Send him a bottle of scotch. Guy #2: I already did. How do you think we got the review? Just thought that was funny. Edit: There's also a part of the movie where Murrow is arguing with the head of CBS (Langella) who points out some of Murrow's hypocracy by mentioning that when Murrow was picking apart all of McCarthy's misstatements, he didn't bring up all the times McCarthy said Alger Hiss was convcted of treason (he was only convicted of perjury). And that the reason Murrow didn't report it was because he didn't want to defend someone who actually was a communist.

I've tried the Peach. They can flavor it any way they want, Fresca taste like Fresca.

Because Danielle took Claire's baby, not the others.

I watched it again and I don't think it's Walt's leg.

Susan St. James announced at a Wrestlemania? I had no idea "Kate and Allie" was that popular a show amongst wrestling fans. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Susan St. James was (is?) married to then-NBC president Dick Ebersol, if that provides a theoretical explanation as to why she was even there in the first place. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aw, it makes sense now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There still married, they were in the news a while back when Ebersol as hurt was in a plane crash that killed their youngest son. Vince overloaded WM2 with celebrities and Meltzer said he and Linda were social friends with the Ebersols (Dick was credited as Executive Producer on Saturday Night's Main Event with Vince until '89). When the plane crash happened, Meltzer wrote a story about Ebersol's role in the business during the '80's. He mentioned that Ebersol subscribed to the Observer back then, but got it under his secretary's name in order to try and hide it from Vince. I thought Susan Saint James did a good job of prentending that she was having a good time and was happy to be there, which is all I ask of celebrities in wrestling. I also thought Bob Uecker and Regis Philbin (well, he's actually a fan) were good at that. I've always felt the announcing at WM usualy depended on the show. If the show was great, bad announcing can't ruin it. If the show sucks, great announicg can't save it. I always thought Gorilla and Jesse were the best team, but that's probably childhood nostalga bias. "Gorilla, you know what I love about Wrestlmania? I'm here with you, so I don't have to talk to McMahon."

Didn't Paul Anka just release an album similar to the Boone album? I think he covers Van Halen and Nirvana.

This was brought up in the observer a week or two ago. Kerry didn't lose the foot in the accident as widely believed. He lost it because he came back and wrestled way too soon, this only made the problems with his foot worse and led to the amputation.
