I was incredibly dissapointed. The Good: Artz speech abut "40 other people on the island" was funny. The flashbacks were good, I felt like Claire got left out. The Bad: The monster is the love child of Doc Ock and PigPen (it's something with long arms that could pull Locke towards it and is surrounded by a cloud of smoke/dust). Did anyone else think that cranking noise when it was pulling Locke sounded like a roller coaster before it takes the big plunge? The others turn out to be the hillbillies from Delverence. Sawer and the rest should have jumped on the other's boat and started the fight as soon as the guy said he wanted the kid and where were Walt's shining powers when he needed them. You think the kid could have at least kicked or bit or fought back a little. They open the hatch and we don't get to see any of what's inside ---- Lame. They were several cool moments but, they could not overcome my dissapointment. I am now convinced more than ever that the creative team doesn't know where their going with this and they're just fucking around with us. ******************************************* This was is from AICN ******************************************* I know that despite what the producers were saying, Daniel Roebuck was telling people he was only a guest star. There's going to be a deleted scene on Good Morning America. Maybe that'll be Claire's flashback.

I glad they're doing a "Best of Alec Baldwin" show next week. I've been waiting for that every since they started giving best of's to host like Walken and Tom Hanks. I hope they include Baldwin's diner skit with Jan Hooks. I thought the show was okay this week, Hardball and Star Wars were the best skits. This is the first time in months I've posted in one of Bob's SNL threads, the second half of the season hasn't really inspired me to comment.

Oldest post I could find. Some people got excited because they thought a change of ownwership at Comedy Central ment the MST3K reruns would return. Aug 10 2003, 03:27 PM I was right too.

It looks like FOX is going to schedule AD for Mondays at 8/7 central. I hope Henry Winkler's new sitcom on CBS gets canceled quickly so he can come back to AD.

Does anyone know if there's a list that says which theaters are showing Episode III digitally?

I found reading that funny because Michael Medved, who reviews movies when he's not being a conservative pundit and trying to politicise Million Dollar Baby, actually praised it because he said it dosen't have a "corporations are evil" mentality. That movie was dissapointing, I expecting better than okay.

I'd wait to see the teams announced. Phil was on the Early Show when they gave away the money last time. The host mentioned that The Amazing Race was looking for famlies of four, but Phil added that "family" could have a broad definition.

I think they left because Vince was going to do legit drug testing and they knew what the results would be. It's also why Randy Savage started wrestling in a shirt, he didn't want the fans to notice his shrunken physique.

I think the eilgablty period is for anything that came out from April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005. How can they be giving out awards for only 2005, the nominees would be even worse. This is how it's always worked. Hell, I'm convinced it's all fixed anyway.

I heard that they considered making Goblet of Fire Kill Bill style. Meaning they would make a five hour movie, split it in half, and have part 2 come out a couple of months after part 1. What would you guys have thought of that? There was an article in USA Today this week that I think teased the ending. Harry and pals undergo trial by "Fire" I've haven't read any of the books either, but this is the part of the article I'm talking about: "For the climactic scene in which he hands over the body of a fellow contestant to the boy's father, Radcliffe says, "I had to tap into emotions that I personally never felt, that most people have never felt. Because they were challenging, it does make them fun." I'm just guessing but is it one of Ron's brothers or Draco Malfoy? It seems like they would be the only ones they could kill off and it would mean anything.

Will Day 5 of 24 (next season) be on FOX or NBC?
MDH257 replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
I would be shocked if this happened. Fox Televison (which also produced Buffy, Angel, NYPD Blue, etc.) produces the show and it airs on the FOX Network. I can not believe that they'll switch since the network can top any financial offer NBC would make. It would just be a matter of News Corp.'s right hand giving money to its left, it's all going in the same wallet anyway. -
Yes, they should have picked a different title since there was already a movie by that name, but this movie is great so get over it. Daniel Dae Kim is only in it for about two seconds. The L.A. district attorney and his wife are carjacked. A wealthy black couple are humiliated and violated by a racist cop during a traffic stop. Don Cheadle plays an Internal Affairs detective who realizes that his first assumptions about the case he's working on may not be right. There are more plotlines and characters than that, but basically it's about how everyone reacts to their situation, how our prejudices and fears inevitably lead to and explosion when we colide with each other, and how everyone believes and reacts to stereotypes in at least minor ways. Most of the character are neither completely good or evil and it helps to make the movie seem more realistic and compelling. This movie is well worth seeing.

Yeah, but the transformation happened in a back alley somewhere (well, it was actually a set) and there were some African tribal dancers in full Saba Simba gear. I remember the bonfire there were dancing around, and from which Akeem emierged from behind of, was set in a trash can. Wrestlecrap ought to repost that, it's awful.

I thought it sounded like one of those stories from the beginging of Magnolia.

People seem to hate it since the quality dropoff from book to movie was steeper than usual. There's a book about the making of the movie called The Devil's Candy by Julie Salamon. It's basically about how the studio thought that the movie of a blockbuster book was a sure thing since they had a big director and big stars, but they ended up watering down everthing that made the book great and miscast the leads.

Chyna. She really does think she can bet up guys, buy she couldn't beat an out of shape Joey Buttafuco on celebrity boxing. She never thought any of the other women were good enough to even be in the ring with her and she wouldn't drop the title to Lita who was becoming more popular. I think she got full of herself because HHH's influence protected her in the booking. It's why she was put on equal footing with guys like Jericho and no one was ever allowed to make fun of her looks on tv.

I heard that they were childhood friends and Abrams tries to put him in everything he does. On the recap show, I noticed that on the flight Locke was sitting behind the black women and in Jack's line of sight. It just gets me thinking about how he likely had to be assited into his seat and you'd think one of the other survivors would have seen or remembered that.

Managing to seem interested in the film and dismissive of it in the same breath is quite a trick. Makes me glad I stay away from the CE forum. The film is playing here in Houston, the home of Enron. I'm sure it'll make it to the larger cites. If anyone has HD, it aired on HDNet for some reason.

I think there's still plenty of milage to get out of the flashbacks. I wonder if they'll trim Sawer's hair and give him a shave for continuity in the flashback to the flight in finale? I noticed Sayid's facial hair wasn't as thick at the start of the series either. Did anyone else think the narrator of the recap show sounded like Brian Cox?
-
Yes the flashback is going to be to the flight, just like the first two episodes.

3.) Garvin was a midcarder, though a popular one, in the NWA. He got the title because he was the only one they were willing to job to Flair at Starrcade '87. The fans rejected Garvin as champion. When he lost the title he got booed on his way to the ring and they cheered when Flair won. In '89 Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine started wearing a shin guard, he gave it a name but I don't remember what it was. He said it was to rehab an injury, but the jobbers he faced all sold the figure four as if the shin guard made it even more painful. Valentine was fueding with Garvin. Garvin started to wear his own shin guard and called it 'The Hammer Jammer'. When they wrestled each other at RR '90, Valentine put Garvin in the figure four but it had no effect because Garvin was wearing 'The Hammer Jammer'. Later in the match Valentine had another chance to apply the figure four and that time he made sure to take the shin guard off of Garvin. 4.) I think RR'90 was there last WWF match. Not sure if they quit or were fired, but Raymond decided to retire eiter way. 5.) I think it was leading to the angle before SS'89 where Heenen distracted Warrior in the aisle so Andre could attack him.

I think WCW, on televison, wasn't sure how they wanted to deal with Spicoli's death and told Zbysko not to break character. Aside from the graphic at the begining and Zbysko's comment, Spicoli's death wasn't disscussed at any other time on the show. He was a member of the nWo at the time and none of them mentioned it.
