I agree. Brown in the Hattori seat is perfect, but I think he needs someone to play off of. I don't care even if it's W, just get someone else in there. Kevin Brauch just doesn't seem very comfortable on the floor, and besides, noone can to Ohta-san on the floor... That was one of the only things I didn't like about the specials. There needs to be a second man in the booth. The show seems too quite compared to the original. Does anyone think the lack of a studio audience helped or hur the specials?

Here are the Writers Guild Nominations. Best Original Screenplay The Aviator - John Logan Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Charlie Kauffman Garden State - Zach Braff Hotel Rwanda - Keir Pearson and Terry George Kinsey - Bill Condon Best Adapted Screenplay Before Sunset - Richard Linklater, Julie Delpy, and Ethan Hawke; based on characters Linklater and Kim Krizan created for their film "Before Sunrise" Mean Girls - Tina Fey; based on Rosalind Wiseman's book "Queen Bees and Wannabes" Million Dollar Baby - Paul Haggis; based on stories from F.X. Toole's collection "Rope Burns" The Motorcycle Diaries - Jose Rivera; based on memoirs by Guevara and traveling companion Alberto Granado Sideways - Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor; based on the novel by Rex Pickett Finding Neverland was ruled ineligible because "the film was not produced under conditions of the guild's current labor contract." It could still get a Oscar nod for Adapted Screenplay because it was based on a play. Two years ago Michael Moore won the Orignal Screenplay award for Bowling for Columbine. I betting the guild members threw a fit because this year they created a catagory for documentary scripts to make sure Fahrenheit 9/11 or Spuer Size Me didn't get nominated. There's politics involved in what get credited as an original or adapted screenplay. Scripts will try to submit in the catagory with easier competition for the nomination or win. A couple of years ago Antwone Fisher (the real guy) successful lobbyed for his script to be considered an Original Screenplay because he said he wrote it before he wrote his memoir which was puplished at least a couple of years before the movie was made. Nia Vardalos also got My Big Fat Greek Wedding considered an Original Screenplay using the same reason, even though she had been performing Greek Wedding as a one women show for years. I'm happy to see Before Sunset nominated, but it's not an adapted screenplay. Mean Girls is based on Queen Bees and Wannabes the same way Adaptation was based on The Orchid Thief.

It's powerful. I'm rooting for Jim Carrey to win Best Actor at the award shows, but if Don Cheadle wins, I won't be complaining. Happy to see the women that played his wife got a Supporting Actress SAG Nomination.

At the risk of falling on my face again. I don't know if there was a longterm plan on who he was supposed to drop the title to. Vince made the call for the switch that night in Saskatoon since he thought Bret should be the guy and they happened to be in Stu Hart's home town. Since it was so spur of the moment, no one was there to talk Vince out of it and talk him into putting it on someone else instead. It's true that Vince thought it should be Bret because he wanted a smaller guy and not someone who looked like they were on the juice.

Yeah , you're right. I was wrong.

Revelation came during Jake's original run. Jake debuted him after Earthquake squashed Damien. After Jake turned heel and did the Cobra bite angle with Savage, Jack Tunney said Jake was banned from bringing Snakes to ringside. I don't remember Jake having a regular Snake during his '96 run, he always seemed to have a different one every week.

Did anyone else think we were going to find out what Locke and Boone found? I mean they cliffhangered us with it in the last episode.

Somewhere around the time they went public, it could have been up to a year earlier, they changed their corporate name from Titan Sports to WWF Entertainment, INC.

Sable left Marc Mero to be with Brock Lesnar. She didn't leave Mero for Lesnar. Sable just started dating Lesnar during her last WWE stint. Sable and Marc Mero have been divorced for many years. Only one I can think of would be DDP and Kimberly. When Dave Meltzer reported that Steve Austin stayed at DDP's place in LA while he was filming "The Longest Yard", he noted that DDP and Kimberly had recently broken up.

I hope Clerks 2 is released before the end of the year. Word is that it dosen't star filming until April. Cameron Crowe's new film "Elizabethtown" should be out in July.

Excuse Me. The segment started after Piper returned at Wretlemania X and it was used to lead up to and promote the Lawler match. I thought that it aired on Action Zone or All-American Wrestling(whichever was the Sunday Morning show at the time) and leading up to King of the Ring they would air it on all the shows except that they cut out about a third of his comments (when he would talk about other things) and only showed him talking about Lawler. I don't remember the segment being rerun on the other shows after KOTR. I don't recall Piper being involved in any other angles during that stint and I was saying that the segment didn't seem to serve any purpose than to promote the match and give Piper something to do. When LooneyTune mentioned that Piper said Bottom Line about 500 times a week I was just trying to point out that that was the segment's title. The segment may have stuck around KOTR (I didn't recall that), but Piper obviously didn't get involved in angles.
-
The Segment was called Roddy Piper's Bottom Line. It was just there to hype his match with Lawler at King of the Ring.

I don't remeber how old I was. I think maybe 10 . I was getting suspicious and then one year my mom didn't bother to put the presents out before she went to bed the night before. I woke up, went downstairs, and there was nothing there.

I once got my e-mail to Dave Meltzer about this topic posted in his feedback column. The first concusssion happened from the kick, but the real damage was done by Bret continuing to wrestle on it instead of seeing a doctor (He never did until after the Funk match). When he was finally diagnosed with post concussion syndrome the doctors told him that he had numerous concussions on top of the original one, to the point that they couldn't know exactly how many he had. Have you ever had a bruise on your arm or leg? You know how if you keep hitting the area that's bruised then the bruise only gets bigger and takes that much longer to heal? Well a concussion is like a bruise on your brain. When someome like a wrestler or football player gets a concussion and dosn't take the time to fully heal, the odds of getting another one and making it worse only get better and better. By continuing to wrestle after the Goldberg match, Bret got concussion on top of concussion to the point that he had to retire because he still hasn't fully healed (an he probably never will) and it may have contributed to his having a stroke. I'm not even a big Goldberg fan, but when people say that Bret carrer ended because of "Clumsy Bill Goldberg's careless kick", it's just not accurate. It also reminds me of how guys like HHH, Nash, and Wade Keller will call Goldberg, Jericho, and RVD careless and sloppy in the ring as an excuse to ignore the fans wishes and throw money away.

There was no feud for Undertaker-Snuka. They just wanted Undertaker to squash someone and they fed Snuka to him. After he beat Backlund for the title, Diesel said Bret could have a title shot as soon as he (Bret) was healthy. Bret wanted his title shot right away (Bret had been injured by being in Backlund's chicken wing for half an hour at Survivor Series '94). Duggan was feuding with Bravo for reasons I don't remember, I guess he didn't like Frenchy Martin's "USA is not OK" sign. The Harts were feuding with the Rougues. The Harts fired Jimmy Hart and turned face. Jimmy went on tv and said that he still had Bret and Neidhart under contract and got a cut of their paycheck no matter what. Jimmy then introduced the Fabulous Rougues as his new team and announced that he was giving his cut of Bret and Neidhart's money to the Rougues. They just made the match at Royal Rumble by booking the faces vs. the heels.

Showtime's executives thought Huff was so good, they ordered a 2nd Season before the 1st season started airing.

It airs down here on BBC America.

I like the show, I didn't start watching until syndication. There are episodes though where Marie is so evil that it's not belivable that Raymond's loyalty would be to her over his wife (which it clearly is).

I hate the arbitrary way Comedy is handled, Desperate Housewives is not a comedy, neiter was Ally McBeal all those years it was getting nominated and winning in those catagories. The writers and performers aren't under the same pressure to be funny as the people who make Scrubs, Arrested Development, or even Will & Grace. I also hate how Musical is thrown in with Comedy. The movies that in recent years got nominated are clearly drama (Chicago, Evita, Mulan Rouge) and they alway win because there going up against comedies that no one takes seriously no matter their merits. It's also qustionable to seen movies like Eternal Sunshine and As Good as it Gets labled as comedy. Look at what competing it the comedy film and acting catagories: Ray, Beyond the Sea, De-lovely, Phantom of the Opera. They're all dramas.
