    Wheels on Degrassi: TNG

He wasn't in the pilot. He was in the episode where Spike and Snake got married, but he only had 2 lines, if any.

    Mystic River: The Review

Okay, here's a list of the best movies I've seen this year (so far). 1.) City of God This is a film from Brazil. It's technically a 2002 film, but Miramax released it in Feb. I saw it in April and I was blown away. You can click on it's title to see it's IMDB listing. 2.) American Splendor Anyone who's seen it knows. 3.) Kill Bill Vol.1 I talked about this in the Kill Bill thread. 4.) School of Rock This movie is a hell of a lot of fun. 5.) Fnding Nemo Mystic River, Seabiscuit also come to mind as being great movies, but those five stood out for me.

    Mystic River: The Review

A really good movie. A movie for grown ups. It makes you think about how childhood trauma stays with people. I saw it on Friday night and I'm still thinking about how I feel about he characters. Mostly, I feel sad. I don't agree that it's the best movie of the year, but I can see why someone would. 3 1/2 out 4 stars.

    Kill Bill: volume 1

Kaboom is a real life cereal, not something they made up for the movie. So maybe you've seen it at the store and just never noticed. I assumed you were talking about "Where have I seen Kaboom cereal in my life?" and not "What movie have I seen it in before." That I can't help you with. BTW, I was also under the impression that Bill was The Bride's fiance. Although, it would make sense if Spoiler (Highlight to Read): at the start of the movie when she says "but it's your baby" it's supposed to be a revelation to Bill and he thought the guy she was marrying wasthe father. I figured the line was meant in a "how can you kill your own baby" kind of way.

    SNL Review

Yeah I remembered hearing the joke somewhere. I didn't remember if it was The Daily Show or Conan. When it started and I saw Arnold, Jesse, and Preditor I thought "Carl Weathers for Gov." But in that second I thought it would just be a video. I didn't think he would be there. BTW Bob, they did make a Rocky reference. "I've got the Apollo Creed-entials and I'm a man of Action...Jackson."

    Kill Bill: volume 1

I can only add to what everyone has already said. The movie Kicked Ass. I was expecting to like it and at best think it was a great "popcorn" movie (which it is and then some). But I was blown away, the movie never lets up. Whenever it gives you a chance to start thinking it's dragging, it just comes back at you. I wasn't sure if I would be into a tribute to Hong Kong action films, not having seen many of those type of films, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Jeffery Welles on movepoopshoot.com put it this way: "Watching this I realized, Quentin made this because the movies he's paying tribute to made him feel the way this movie makes me feel." Kill Bill Vol. 1 is one of the best movies of the year. I can't wait for part 2.

    SNL Review

Amazingly good show. Because of Timberlake I was expecting to hate it, but the guy was funny. Hardball, Newlyweds, Punked, and Kermit were funny. Punked and Update weren't long enough. The Franken impression was good. I thought Fred's Quentin impression was great. Boston Teens wasn't as funny as I was hoping it would be. With the Sox in he playoffs I figured they would do a Boston teens or Seth on Update bit about it. I was actually expecting them to do something last week. Good show and a big improvement over last week.

    SNL Review

I thought it was a very lackluster show. The Arnold opening was way too long and I just didn't find the Wade Robson skit very funny. How can Bob be a SNL apologist when he hates half the cast? Bob says a lot of things that make me roll my eyes, but he's not an SNL shill. If anything I usually think he's too negative.

Short lived TV shows no one seems to remember

A screwjob ending that rivals Survivor 97 Ummmmm.... What was it?

    dirty pretty things

When I heard about this movie I knew they would push Audrey as the star in the ad campaign, even though the guy that plays Okwe carries the movie. I thought the thriller aspects were handled much better than they would have been in a Hollywood film. I thought Sergi Lopez was great as the Sleazy Hotel Manager. I didn't realize until later that he played Harry in "With a Friend Like Harry..."

    Christopher Guest Collection

I'm 99.999% certain that it's just A Mighty Wind packaged with the previous Guffman and Best in Show releases. A Mighty Wind is going to have the same bonuses as the other two, deleted scenes and a commentary by Guest and Eugene Levy.

Short lived TV shows no one seems to remember

Yes...it was a three-story brownstone somewhere in New York. There was a older black couple on one floor, and a pair of young newlyweds on another floor. I remember it from the review in TV Guide in that year's Fall Preview issue. What the hell was the name of it, though? CanadianChris - I E-Mailed TV Geek. His reply: Damn. I E-Mailed Stump The Shark and they still haven't put my question up, so I'm hoping they get to it soon. The show was called "Married People" and aired on ABC. Click here for it's IMDB listing.

I never thought I'd say this

Okay, here is Kevin's response to the whole "Kevin is a f%$#ing sellout/ Kevin stabbed Lee in the back/ Fletch will suck ass now that Lee's not the star" thing. Posted by Kevin at 205.147.8.135 on August 14, 2003 at 12:19:14: Using Chasing Mallclerks thoughts from a post below as my jumping off point... : Adam Sandler's comic timing is all wrong for a young Chevy (because let's face it, Chevy is the mark with which you must start from) No - Chevy is not the mark from which we must start. Go read the books: Fletch is not Chevy Chase. : Brad Pitt actually has the most hope on this list after seeing his role in "Oceans Eleven", but I just can't see him pulling off the slap stick side of Fletch. Again - go read the books: there IS no slap stick. : Jimmy Fallon has zero Box office clout, and would be seen as even a greater gamble...So if you were to consider him, why not just go with the better Jason Lee. See, the thing is, thanks to "SNL", Fallon's got a rabid fan-following. His college gigs are big draws just like Sandler's were, prior to his breaking out in movies. In Harvey's perspective, Lee has been the star of movies that didn't open, nor go on to earn very much. So, actually, to Harvey, the unproven Jimmy Fallon is potentially worth taking a risk on, as he hasn't struck out yet. : Ben Afleck would just be a slap in the face for Jason Lee. He could pull it off, but not like Jason Lee. If you read the book, Ben's actually the closest to the character. Lee's definitely closer if you were doing the Chevy version of Fletch, but Ben - the REAL Ben, not a Ben you've seen onscreen or on talk shows before - is closest to the book version of Fletch. And the book version is the Fletch we're making. I love Lee. I can't imagine anyone would doubt that, even now. I fought for Lee, for almost three years now (Harvey bough the Fletch library for us the night of the first "Bounce" test screening, which was long before I even had a first draft of "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back"). And recently, I had Harvey in the best bargaining position of my entire nearly-ten year career, at which time, I forced the Lee-as-Fletch issue once again. And even then, he was still resolute. And I'd said before "If it's not Lee, I'm not doing it." Said that for at least a year, hoping to send Miramax a clear message. They got the message, alright - but rather than relenting and giving Lee the greenlight, they were just going to let the option on the books lapse. And I'm sorry - I don't want to see someone else making a Fletch flick that yet again doesn't resemble the character in the books that have been so influential on my writing. So I opted to stay with the flick, minus Lee. What can I say? I took a swing. Shit, I took a lot of swings. Had Miramax agreed to Lee, this flick would've been made BEFORE "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." But it just wasn't to be. So you've got two choices: either grumble about the Lee-less Fletch movie we're going to make from now until the end of time, or open yourself up to the idea that maybe - just maybe - our Fletch flick is gonna be good, regardless of who gets cast. I can't wait untill Pixar leaves Disney...

The two movies left on Pixar's Disney contract are The Incredibles in Nov. 2004 and Cars in Nov. 2005. Toy Story 3 isn't being considered atthis point. As part of their deal, Disney owns the characters. So if they want to make Toy Story 3, they have to resign with Disney.

(Late) News On The Future of MST3K Episodes

It's not happening. It would cost millions which no one (with the money) is willing to spend. And Comedy Central got the reruns of Mad TV away from TNN/Spike to replace the SNL reruns in January. I hate to rain on the parade, but the fact is that when Sci-Fi stops showing the episodes they have, MST3K is leaving television forever.
