It'll most be frees. Just got another one with Rab Douglas today. We might pay out something like 200k for somebody if the right player is avaliable for that kind of price. Most teams in the division won't spend close to half what Sheff Utd have spent so far = 1.3 million I believe.

Checking if there's any talent at the women's Euro Championships? Leicester have signed Sylla from Celtic and Kisnorbo from Hearts is joining this summer as well. Wilcox ended up staying with us.

I remember watching a documentary about hooliganism the other year which focused on Lazio and Boca Juniors. The scene that sticks in my mind is the Lazio Ultra's visit to the training ground. The training came to an abrupt halt as soon as the players, coaches and officials became aware of their presence. Lazio had been on a crap run and it was obvious, crazy as it sounds, that they were at the mercy of this mob and had to appease them somehow 'or else'. Nesta, the club captain, finally emerges to play peacekeeper and avoid any serious trouble. Poor Nesta didn't have a choice on how long he was stood there because the Ultra's call the shots.

No need to aplogise. It was probably just the way you worded that first post that made me reply really. I don't disagree with too much else you said to be honest. At least we've learned from those events. We're one of the safest countries in Europe to watch football these days and hooliganism has been marginalised to a fair extent.

Decemberists: You called it a 'fact' that they killed people. You're claiming that Liverpool fans alone were directly responsible for the deaths in that sentence yet you claim you've never even 'suggested' it. Did you forget you typed those words or something? You only bothered to offer a more rounded explanation and mention the police incompetance when somebody quite understandably took offence to the post. You stated yourself a couple of times that being drunk and late is common in behaviour of all football fans. If that's true then surely it's obvious that the same proven factors of gross police incompetance and shocking stadium conditions (in Heysel's case) in the two games would have led to similar tragedy with any other English side with such large numbers following them. Of course drunkeness and late arrival (Hillsborough mostly) was a large contributory factor (I know i never said it wasn't btw) but they were just being normal football fans weren't they?

Pitchfork has more in common with the NME than it realises. Oh, and their best albums of the 90's list sucked.

is fucking disgracefull and there's no evidence of that. There is evidence though of Liverpool fans running up and taunting the Forest fans, as I've talked to plenty of people I know who were there and they'll all said that happened. AND clearly the police fucked up completely and should 99% of the blame. But - if the Liverpool fans had turned up to the game on time then there wouldn't have been the problem of thousands wanting to get it just before 3pm. And this still happens today, as anyone who go to games will know - people still turn up at 3:10 or so and have to get past people to get to their seat. And again, of course people were drunk - it was a bloody football match. And as I've said, the poor bastards that got killed and their famillies were not in any way imaginable at fault. Forest, and others, were punished after Heysel as all English cliubs were banned from European competiton. So when were finishing 3rd and winning League Cups etc we weren't allowed in the UEFA Cup because of what Liverpool fans did. The police should take 99% of the blame for what happened? I thought you said earlier that Liverpool fans were murderers? Make your fucking mind up. You've gone from sounding like a complete and utter cunt to sounding just plain clueless. Must have been a nice watch for all the Man Yoo fans last night. Won fuck all and having to watch that would have rubbed it in nicely.

Indeed. Its why I live in Leicester. What I love about The Sun is that its trying to make its readers hate this family. The family is clearly a mess. But the The Sun wont be happy until the family have shit thrown at them on the streets by its mindless sheep readers. Seriously, is Derby that bad or what? Do we really live in the most respectable East Midlands city? You're right about The Sun. I could live with just the one article but they turn it into a daily campaign focusing on further and totally unnecesary 'details'. They seem to enjoy revelling in what they're supposed to be condeming

I've never argued that Savage wasn't/still is an annoying idiot but for a few years he was OUR annoying idiot who always gave 100% every game and we loved him for winding the opposition up. Same with characters like Dickov, you love them if they're on your side. Taylor has often thrown a strop against us over the years, remember him losing it towards the end of a league cup semi once when we were beating Villa. He hasn't been on the winning side against us very often, that's for sure. I remember Eric Cantona scoring against Leeds at Elland Road a while after he'd gone to Man Utd and going straight up to the home kop to gloat (in the absolute worst 'standing like a horribly smug French statue' pose). Within spitting distance was a hard looking Leeds nutter being restrained from getting to him by the people sitting round him. He may have caught that scrawny Palace fan napping that time but this guy would have slaughtered him had he got his hands on him.

I joined during the god awful 01/02 relegation season. God, we were shite that season. Junior Lewis, Lee Marshall, Ade Akinbiyi, 25 yard Sinclair own goals etc. Only good memory that season was Savage's penalty celebration causing a mini-riot at Derby. So, that's 2 relegations and 1 promotion since i've been at TSM.

I'm tempted to buy their Anthology comp reading that. I've got all their original albums but it has about 5 different songs not on any of them like that cover and some live cuts, plus it's dead cheap on Amazon.co.uk.

I suppose it's better than the Daily Mail.

The s/t debut House Tornado The Real Ramona University The first two are the louder, more abrasive sounding Muses at their early peak. They became a bit more melodic by the time they released the other two albums but they incorporated that smartly into their original sound. Ramona was my first album and it was a real grower, from liking a few songs to liking the whole album. I think the debut is only avaliable on the In A Doghouse comp, at least in America unless i've missed a re-issue US release or something. Not heard the other albums in full.

That's true of 95% of double albums. I've not heard the new Eels album but it sounds like a similar case from what i've read.

Yep, it was brilliant. Man Utd missing all those chances made it all the sweeter. Seeing Ronaldo blubbing was the icing on the cake. Well done you gooners!

82nd out of 86! Anybody do worse than me? I think that's the first time i've had a look since the start of september or something so that's my excuse. I had Kezman and Cisse up front as well. Got my team name about right though.

Sheff Utd have snapped Nalis up on a free. I was almost certain he'd go back to France.

Anybody remember this video being on Beavis and Butthead years ago? ''It's Krokus coming to kick their ass. It's the night of the living bands that suck''.

I'm glad for West Brom and their fans. Southampton have rode their luck enough times ovber the years, Norwich had the worst defence and didn't win a single away game and Palace....well, I've never liked that lot.

Most of my friends are lazy bastards but one who isn't is really into his tennis like me so we go whenever we can. Having to put up with the British weather and using public courts is part of the unpredictable charm of it. Getting up very early and checking weather forecasts is the normal routine. I still play football (the one where you use your feet) with friends occasionally but 90% of the time I only play competitively these days.
