I've heard the McAteer move has collapsed. Didn't want him here anyway.

What are you listening to right now?

Wilco - In a Future Age Summerteeth might just be their best album so far.

So lately I've loved chick bands.

Everybody was cheering on the greeks at the pub. Zagorakis got cheered for being an ex-City player of course (that was a belter in the 2-6 Man Utd game!) and everybody cheered and clapped at the final whistle and then laughed at Ronaldo crying. Thought we had upset somebody coming home from the pub last thursday when the car behind was honking at us only to be put straight at the traffic lights when a couple of blokes started leaning out waving Greek flags. Along with that Russian girl winning Wimbledon its been a good couple of days for underdogs getting unlikely glory, would have been worth a good double bet a month ago.

    Pitchfork's 90's list was awful.

Holland were absolutely useless, losing by 1 goal flattered them completely, 3-0 would have been a fairer reflection. I hope the Czechs win it, they'll have a tough game against Greece but fingers crossed. There's no way the Greeks will beat the Portugese again if they got there, they won't pose enough threat and will be too negative against this reborn host side, the Czechs can score against anybody when they play well.

I'm glad Gerrard stayed, there's no chance this year but i'd love to see the title go back to Anfield before too long. Houllier going is a start I suppose.

    Marney: RIP

I saw Bruiser Chong was viewing this thread, I thought he would have given his two cents on Marney's departure.

A lot of people are predicting him to be a top player and a future England regular so that could be an absolute bargain for Newcastle.

    Essential Rolling Stones

'Between the Buttons' would get into my top 5 and 'Their Satanic Majesties' is their most undervalued album.

Do you think it could catch on? No need to quote the above post.

I'd probably agree that Barry Davies is the best at the moment, I laughed at the 'magical night' comment regarding Tyldsley, he always mentioned that! I agree with Caboose that he's been far better at Euro 2004 than he normally is and my mentioning of it was due to similar surprise. Andy Townsend's tactics truck was classic crap, he seems rather fond of his yellow pen these days, always apologising to Des or Gaby for his crap squiggles. David Pleat is awful, have any of you ever seen his managerial record in football? Terrible. God knows why his opinion is asked on anything regarding the game. The defining image of his career is doing a stupid skip across the pitch when Luton stayed up (that's right, he just avoided relegation!) on the last day of the season years ago. He came within a whisker of dragging Leicester into the old 3rd division when he managed us.

Remember Moldovan and Raymond Vega scoring against England? It's not the first time that kind of thing has happened and it won't be the last either. Vega's goal was in a freindly but it was still embarrasing, Moldovan was a Coventry reject but Vega was a laughing stock at the time. Leicester have always suffered from a similar kind of thing. Ian Rush scored three goals for Leeds I remember right and two were in the same game against us. Then there's Darryl feckin Powell scoring against us for bloody Derby and the best of all, Francis Benali scoring his one and only career goal at our expense, and that was when we were good!

Have any of you found John Motson completely irritating on the beeb the last week or two? I swear I was this close to throwing something at the TV during the Q-Final if he said 'this looks worrying for England' one more fucking time. He spends too much time repeating himself and worrying about ifs, buts and maybe's instead of focusing on what's actually happening. The ITV guy (forgot his name) has overtaken him easily, he talks more common sense, is less annoying and is quite amusing. Hansen and Venables are probably the two best 'studio' people, always insightful and intelligent.

Yeah, where's the Aerosmith. Rocks is a tighter and more consistantly strong album than most of the other mainstream hard rock efforts this indie list radically included in its lower half so yeah, where is the Aerosmith?

I've just got a feeling that Denmark will beat the Czechs tomorrow. I'm rooting for Greece and the Czechs. Weird seeing an ex-Leicester player skin Lizerazu and set up the winner, go Theo!!

I'd like to see Leicester sign some players under 30 years of age for a change. It's possible he's getting some experience in first and then going down that route later but we'll have to wait and see, Adams has said we need to reduce the average age of the squad. So far we have signed Dion Dublin & Danny Tiatto, both for free of course! We have West Ham at home first game and then Derby and Millwall away.

Whats your favourite sports memory of all time?

The winner was offside!! We still won one more trophy than the geordies that season anyway.

Nice surprise to see this album pimped, I picked it up myself last year having heard a couple of songs on compilation albums. You could possibly describe them as half way between alt country and indie but they avoid sounding overly familiar because the guitar work avoids cliche and the lyrics are brilliant from start to finish. It all sounds so laid back and effortless but the consistantly good songs manage a great diversity of mood and atmosphere in a subtle way which lays an effective platform for the lyrics. And yes, it is a great opening track as well, its one of those albums where the opening and closing tracks just seem to fit so right.

It wasn't anything to do with hooliganism from what i've heard although I too feared it had maybe been committed by a Croat fan. I've heard he was stabbed by a thief who is known to local police as a regular offender, a Ukranian immigrant supposedly according to one report I saw. As for tonight, get ready for the Italian backlash!....they'll think the whole world is against them after this and that last World Cup game (although I always thought it was just Spain who got screwed against S.Korea rather than them).

    Punk Essentals?

My only gripe with Bad Religion is the fact they haven't made a good album in over a decade and should have called it a day. I can't fault what they did in the first half of their career.
