Play it? I've lost a large chunk of the past last 5-6 years of my life to it, i played a ridiculous amount of years on the 97/98 version. I'd be here all day talking about that game but i'm scared i'd bore you all very quickly if you haven't spent a stupidly large amount of time playing it yourself.

    TSM reviewers

I like Coey's reviews, nobody would dispute his knowledge about wrestling and he doesn't pull any punches, i don't need a review that lists every single move in a match. Hopefully he'll stick to what he's good at because he fucking sucked at trying to be a 'message board heel' when he couldn't flame his way out of a paper bag. As for the others, I read the shoots and show reviews mostly. There's plenty I don't know about wrestling compared to a lot of people here but as for movies and music I don't take anybody's opinions as gospel because generally I know my stuff as well as anybody else.

    Will Somebody Slap This Man

Moore can be annoying or tiresome but so can these endless identical threads dedicated to him here. Shouldn't there really be a limit on how many times somebody can post the same topic in one folder? Maybe you should pin a MM thread at the top of the page to save the bother and you might even be able to come up with a funny joke between you eventually.

    Favorite TV Show openings

The old school Grange Hill opening is easily one of the best ever.
  6. Spirited Away - 8/10 I watched it early hours of the morning after a drink so it probably deserves another watch.

I bet you said that last year. We'll have to see which teams lose key players in the summer, it could be a very different Leeds or Leicester side playing in Div 1 next season, i also heard that Wolves have 11 players out of contract soon as well because of the necessity of being cautious financially if you've just gone up & having a safety net. Will Forest hold on to Johnson, Dawson, Reid etc?

tis a fair point and I don't honestly expect to see us outside the bottom 6-8 all season. On the positive side we do have an absolutely ace manager - the best we've had since Martin O'Neill by far, he's a decent tactician, knows his players and guarantees that any money spent will be done so hella-sensibly, and there really is some genuine class in the team - it doesn't run through out, but it's there regardless - Green and Huckerby jump out from a mile and that's without mentioning the latest products of the youth system and a pretty solid midfield. But as supporters we are by no means kidding ourselves, we may be probably the strongest team in Division 1 (and I don't mean to be blindly bragging - we've shown ourselves to be consistant all season) but we will obviously struggle in the Premiership. But we're enjoying ourselves at the moment, we have a four game race for the championship, a big premiership payday ahoy and plenty of promise on the horizon - it's just not going to be an easy ride. From what i've seen this season you're a better footballing team than West Brom and that definately gives you the edge over them as far as survival goes, its given Portsmouth a slight edge that may see them survive instead of Leicester this season because crucially they have been creative enough to break teams down at Fratton Park to get those essential home points. Despite Redknapp always pleading poverty they did have the resources to bring in more useful new faces than Leicester (Ferdinand & Thatcher were the only decent ones we got) so you'll have to overcome that. You'll probably find out next season whether or not Worthington is an exceptional manager or merely a good one.

    Ranieri lays into Abramovich

No one likes Alan Smith on this board? I think he'd make a good fit for England behind Owen. I'd have Smith in my England squad every time, he's skilful, versatile and has that character of grit and dertimination. He was a loose cannon when he first came through but he's matured excellently, one of the reasons (there's several) i'd like Leeds to go down would be to see Smith move somewhere else.

1994. Derby County Vs Leicester City. Of ALL the teams to beat us in the play-off final. Steve Walsh. A big grin just appeared on my face reading that = Any Leicester fan has had enough playoff emotions to last them a lifetime.... 1992: 0-1 to Blackburn with the infamous Speedie/Walsh penalty 1993: The most heartbreaking match EVER as we come back from 3-0 down vs Swindon only for a terrible late penalty to deny us. 1994: Walshie beats Derby with 5 minutes to go 1996: Claridge with 2 seconds to go, i still get emotional watching that, the look of disbelief on Claridge's face, the fans going absolutely insane and Walshie hugging O'Neil, the premiership years that followed made it all the sweeter. Baron, if this is St Mary's 3rd season then yes. I agree about Phillips btw, great natural finisher but ever since that 30 goal year at Sunderland he goes long stretches without a goal, he's capable of something brilliant on his day though like that goal against us on the opening day of the season.
  15. Here's a perfect example. I'm a big Jerry Seinfeld fan and a huge Seinfeld fan, as well. Despite my fandom, I can see why some people don't like it. That isn't to say that it's the fault of the show, but rather, it's the humor that a lot of people just don't get. I'm not calling you stupid or anything, but I know a lot of people who hate the show just because they're too damn thick-headed about things and think anything that they need to actually think about is stupid. I think that's something that makes the show brilliant. You've gotta have a head on your shoulders to truly appreciate some of the material on the show, unlike something like Friends, which is nothing more than a poor man's Seinfeld for the thinking challenged. When it comes to that show, everything short of smashing you over the head is done to let you know when you're supposed to be laughing. It has its moments, but for the most part, it's far to mediocre to get all the praise come give it. I often find that those who hate Seinfeld love Friends. Makes sense, though, since they're basically polar opposites on the thinking scale. Yes, a guy who has been a comic staple for over four decades must suck just because you haven't heard of him outside of this forum. Jesus. He's a comic I can understand people not liking because of his extreme views and the fact that his standup specials don't follow the basic formula most are accustomed to. He's usually up there making great points, but doing it in a humorous way. Unfortunately, him using this unusual formula has scared of many. Because it was original and despite this country being absolutely terrified of such a trait, there are times when a fresh concept is able to sneak by the radar detectors and become a success before it can be stopped. Wow, sorry if i offended you mate, let me present my defence. I posted an argument as to why 'Seinfeld was an incredibly overrated peice of fluff that could only pass for wonderfully original amongst the slackjawed dross of regular American sitcoms' at SNKT a good while back and frankly couldn't be bothered to post it here as well. I know you love the show but please don't get all hot under the collar with me because i couldn't be arsed to be more than brief here, especially when you never even replied to any of the points i made at SNKT. You probably won't reply to this either! I quite liked the show myself believe it or not but whenever its declared as either 'genius' or god forbid 'the best sitcom ever!' i can't help but think people are talking bollocks. Its almost as bad as when fans of the show argue anybody who doesn't share similar opinions doesn't 'get' the humor, maybe if you've been brought up on a diet of just Friends and Home Improvement etc it might be overly subtle but i sincerly doubt many people here (even those who have dissed Jerry S in one sentence) fall into that category. George Carlin: Having admitted to not knowing him at all i said that maybe it was because he really did suck like some other posters were saying, having not seen him perform i was hardly going to dismiss him as crap myself was i? I don't actually live in the US so its more than possible a comedian who hasn't had a particularly notable film or sitcom career might pass me by, we also have comedians where i come from as well which might explain the overall lack of George Carlin i'm exposed to.

There's no chance of us staying up but thanks anyway, i just can't see us winning another game to be honest. I'm looking foward to going to Highbury last game of the season, we'll already be down and the pressure will be off so the atmosphere in the away end will probably be really good like it was a couple of years ago at Southampton when some fans took the fancy dress option to laugh in the face of relegation.

You disagree with me??.... Ok, fine. Pompey deserve to stay up and i hope they do, Leicester might just might help drag Man City down with them next week but i still hope Leeds take the drop instead.

Lineker did the buisness at two world cups and outside of England in a superior foreign league. Greaves was the best natural goalscorer in England's history and his record speaks for itself. I respect Shearer, he was one of the top few strikers in Europe during his peak but he's not the best we've ever had.

Get over it, Neil Lennon did. I'd have the same opinion of him if that never happened actually, as would anyone who isn't an armchair Newcastle fan or a geordie. Don't know why the dumb fuck didn't move to Man Utd when he had the chance, not only would he have had winners medals coming out of his ears but his whiny petulant act towards officials would have made even Roy Keane and Gary Neville blush. Shearer would have pushed them both aside every week (probably with an his elbow) to get in the ref's face first. Ruud Gullitt was was right about him the other week. Pompey are leading Man Utd 1-0 at half-time, if they hold on to that and Blackburn beat Leicester then Leeds are in big trouble to avoid finishing 18th.

I haven't watched this film for years and years, i remember it being quite neat and wouldn't mind seeing it again. There's probably a few thousand more worthy candidates for most underrated film of all time though if the sub-heading was serious.

Valencia should win the UEFA Cup, although playing another Spanish side will be difficult for them. I can't bring myself to cheer for Newcastle as long as Alan Shearer is playing.

    Some Help on Some Bands/Musicians...

Make sure you get the proper bonus track re-issues of The Kinks albums as you don't want to risk missing out on 'Days', 'Autumn Almanac' etc. Face to Face is as essential as those other 3 peak albums and if you discover a real love for those records then you you should check out everything up to and including Muswell Hillbillies. Air - Moon Safari is the best starting point and is a perfectly composed album which spawned about a thousand imitators since. I heard The Virgin Suicides album a while ago and liked it a lot, far removed from a retread of MS but still sharing similar strengths.
