Automatic is one of my favourite albums of all time so its an easy number 1 for me. Murmur is a perfect record in its own regard as well, it shares a similar timeless feel to it in terms of songs that were built to last. I'd probably give New Adventures the nod as third best, it contains a couple or three filler tracks IMO that you could argue make it flabbier than the post-Murmur IRS era stuff but many songs on there are among their best. I've never been overly fond of Document, its good but nowhere near the 5 star album its sometimes proclaimed to be.

I've only ever heard their first two albums and for me the s/t debut just shades it although I enjoyed both.

I've always had a soft spot for Liverpool but they have fallen depressingly far behind Arsenal and Man Utd. Alongside Man Utd, they still have a massive worldwide fanbase compared to anybody else due to their illustrious history. Arsenal aren't really a big side anywhere outside of London. Leicester are currently a premiership club but probably wont be at the end of the season, they have always been up and down between the top two divisions. Gordon Banks, Peter Shilton and Gary Lineker are our most famous ex-players. As for the champions League you have to favour Real Madrid but you can bet absolutely nobody will write off Bayern as having no chance. I don't think Man Utd are up to winning it this season unless their defence improves and they get some massive performances from Keane, Scholes, Giggs and Van Nistelrooy.

Jane's Addiction - Nothin's Shocking Must have been about 12 months since its last spin and that was silly because after listening again its possibly gone up in my estimation. Strong from start to finish with a distinctive style. Sense Field - Building I thought they split up but apparantly not, half/two thirds of a really good album. Couple of tracks grate. I remember thinking of them as a potentially really good band when I first listened to it but they could have gone more bland as likely as more interesting. Quicksand - Manic Compression I played the Rival Schools album to death when I first got it but now reckon Walter Schreifels earlier stuff is more enduring. Some people called this stuff emo in the mid 90's but I don't think it has much in common with the college rock sound that passes for that genre these days. Apart from a couple of tuneless hardcore shouters the albums sound still comes on as surprisingly layerd and intelligent but still direct. Music with no excess fat.

Bremen is on top right now, yes. My Bayern Munich is playing awful right now and Dortmund has big money problems and can be lucky if they get to be in the UEFA cup next year. So Bremen's chances are very good this year, they have a great squad. But most of their important players will not be there anymore after this season. Maybe you know their central midfielder Johan Micoud, he's a French international but mostly has to play second fiddle to Zidane there. He's awesome. And their forward Ailton has already scored 18 goals in 18 games this season and would be playing for Brazil if they didn't have their heads up their asses. Yes, the FA cup is still a bit more awesome because of its big tradition and I really love the atmosphere in English arenas. I didn't know Micoud was playing for them, he's a skilful player. I heard Dortmund have terrible injury problems as well as financial struggles. One thing I notice about Germany is how good the attendances are every week. I'm sure Bayern will come good again sooner rather than later, at least you don't support Leicester City like me. In fact, Bayern is still 100 times better than most teams other posters here support, checkout the div 1 football thread for proof.

I can't fathom how proper football is more tedious to play than something like American Football (a 60 minute game shouldn't last longer than a wrestling PPV IMO) or Baseball. There's absolutely no flow to those games whatsoever but I wouldn't call either of them an abomination of a sport because hey, we all have our own tastes right? I've never followed Baseketball or Ice Hockey but I can at least see the appeal based on the fast end to end nature of them.
-
Bremen are top aren't they? I'm not very familiar with their squad to be honest but it would be nice to see somebody other than Bayern or Dortmund win it. Seriously though, you know the FA Cup is the best!
-
I wouldn't call the match I watched tonight(Manchester City coming back from a 3 goal deficet with a player sent off to win 4-3) tedious and boring. But then again, different strokes for different folks. That was an amazing game, the FA Cup is the best club knockout competition in the world by a mile.

Does anybody know how complete these versions are compared to the original cuts? I saw what was supposedly a pretty much uncut version of Fulci's 'New York Ripper' a couple of years ago and I can't imagine it being avaliable in a version that hasn't been at least partially cut. Some Italian exploitation films of the 70's (especially the slightly lesser known ones) are very troublesome, especially the sub-genre of 'invasion' films influenced by Last House On The Left.

Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska The Ladybug Transistor - The Ladybug Transistor Nebraska is great and deserves to be called a classic. Ladybug Transistor is just a great pop album.

Looks like Morris is coming to Leicester instead of Sheff Utd, anything that helps stop a Neil Warnock side doing any good is fine by me. Never seen that much of him. I haven't got a clue why Harry Redknapp would want John Curtis but he's gone.

5-0!. At home!!. To Villa!!!!??? Not being good enough is one thing but simply giving up is quite another, absolutely shocking and disheartening. Guppy, Davidson, Bent etc can showed a professional attitude at least and deserved to wear the shirt. Character, guts and determination where the hallmarks of Brian Little's and Martin O'Neil's teams in the past decade. Foxes never quit they used to say, they quit after the first goal on saturday.

The rest of the world thinks Baseball and American Football are boring. It just a case of geography=exposure=affection/preference.

Its going to be a double E. Midlands relegation unless we get some points soon. Not too bothered about getting knocked out of the FA Cup really, those last couple of minutes were ridiculous though.

I don't know if its an angle ever taken on him in America (i'd guess maybe not or at least much less so)) but i've increasingly seen Bush portrayed as a dangerously narrow-minded bible basher rather than a dumb fool. The whole 'American Jesus' mentality he so often seems to endorse in the minds of some critics/observers is an increasingly regular topic for debate.

You're not that bad yet! Just seen Leicester lose 4-0 to Chelsea. We were never going to score and paid the price for a really poor first half, the jammy free-kick just before half-time killed us off.
-
He managed it today. Taggart got the winner as well.. Come on the Leicester!!! Pride Park will be the emptiest looking ground in the country next season.

Their first three albums are all great. De La Soul and Gang Starr deserve mention alongside them as well.
