This whole post reads as if you spend a lot of time browsing Pitchfork and flipping through NME, memorizing the names you pick up but without knowing what any of it means. Hey Inc, how about a few more friendly or sensible posts?

Hard not to think of the Owen transfer as a prime recent example in what you say about Newcastle fans. Those mass turnouts when he signed make you cringe slightly when it's completely obvious to the rest of the country the deal is a complete farce. I think the mentality of the Newcastle fans you talk about (and possibly the rest of club) puts off some possible candidates who could actually make Newcastle into the top-six side they should be given their resources. Even geordie boy Chris Waddle decribed the job today as a 'poisoned chalice' - it's easy to see where he's coming from. Big names will probably be linked again but who will actually want to go there? Nobody did last time did they? Souness was about 5th choice and the shambles of the last 17 months was just so utterly predictable that it's hard to even manage a chuckle about it. And they still have the same bloke in charge who took the piss out of the club's supporters and the city of Newcastle itself. Shame he's as gullible with HIS money as he said the supporters were with theirs. Geordies = Stupid AND hypocritical.

That's a great suggestion. Spaced was an excellent show. There was only 14 episodes (two series of 7 each) of Spaced ever made so it's not like you'd have to fork out for a massive box set or anything.

Has The Czech Republic yet to realize that solo Morrissey
Anorak replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Music
Just a one-disc comp would do me on Mozza's solo years. The bloke still inspires so much devoted fandom you're not sure whether or not to trust the initial reviews you see of any new album he puts out. Quarry wasn't up to much on reflection but his successful and celebratory live performances in support of it were the main highlight for his real fans anyway. -

Jungle Book. At least ten times better than 75% of the stuff i've forked out to see since.

Serena Williams got booted out. I thought Hantuchova would probably take it to 3 sets but lack the killer instinct to beat her. Maybe less of a shock than Pierce losing considering how little Serena plays these days.

The Who? The What?

Never seen it. Not sure when or even if it was ever shown over here in the UK. Looks like it could be fun. I'll try watching AD properly from the very beginning some time and see if it clicks. It's easy to be hasty in dismissing a really acclaimed show sometimes when it doesn't do it for you straight away.

ARE YOU FUCKING DAFT. I THOUGHT HE WAS FUCKING RUBBISH AND SUPREMELY IRRITATING MYSELF BUT YOU OBVIOUSLY FIERCELY DISAGREE. Which is cool.

That might have to wait until Summerslam.....when Elvis is a midcarder.

Give me a break, I only used the 'universal quality' line because I thought it went with 'bit on the bum' whereas say, 'universal popularity' doesn't at all. As for comparing the TV show & Food Chain Restaurant? Two examples sounds better than one is the only point I stopped to consider. Can't I make a rubbish, non-serious and throwaway post in peace without any irrelevant nitpicking? . I thought the exactly the same two things as Plagiarism mentioned earlier when I watched AD 1. What a god awful idea this narration is. 2. That bald guy isn't funny.

I remember some reliably good footy pundits like Gab Marcotti saying Boumsong wasn't all he was cracked up to be back when him and Mexes were both still at Auxerre.

That's my favourite Wilco album and one my favourite albums period. Discovered Uncle Tupelo on the back of it as well as generally checking out a bunch of more country/folk influenced bands, both old and new. I sometimes wish Jeff Tweedy hadn't quite so deliberately turned his back on that kind of sound. Golden Smog's Weird Tales features more of the old alt country Tweedy alongside guys from other bands in an enjoyably easy-going record.

I don't fancy our chances against you in the next league game which is a six-pointer. Wednesday seem to have some guts and character & we've got neither.

I've eaten at McDonald's maybe twice in my whole life and i've never watched an episode of Freinds from beginning to end. I wouldn't know universal quality if it bit me on the bum. True, and thank goodness for that I say.
