Just got back from the Augusta, Georgia Civic Center. The place was about 2/3 full, and WWE put on a great show. Shelton Benjamin vs Christian - Shelton won with his Exploder Powerslam, really good match Val Venis vs Chris "Masterpiece" Masters - Masterpiece won after the standard issue HOSS spinebuster. OK match. Some random fan was ejected during the match for throwing what appeared to be a rubber ball into the ring. Next Edge cut a promo about how he should be Champion because he got the pinfall before Benoit made him tap. Benoit came out and wanted an impromptu match. They fought for a couple seconds before Edge bailed and left for the back. Simon Dean vs Tajiri - Sad to see that Nova has been reduced to the simple WWE style of Kick - Chop - Kick, repeat. Dean eventually won the match, but I missed how. Rhyno vs Muhammed Hassan - Ok match with Hassan winning with a roll-up after Rhyno fell for a distraction from Kusrow. La Resistance vs William Regal and Tajiri - Good match. Lots of funny stuff from Regal and Eugene like usual. Maven tried to interfere but WIlliam Regal pinned Conway after a running knee to the side of the head. ---Intermission--- Snitzky vs Hurricane - a 10-minute squash that couldve easily been done in 2 minutes. One has to wonder who the Hurricane has pissed off backstage. Snitzky won with the Meltdown Trish vs Lita - Pretty good women's match. I hope the match this Monday is as good as this was. Trish won after countering Lita's DDT of Fucking Death by holding onto the top rope, then covering Lita with her feet on the ropes. Coach came out to cut a promo about nothing. Stacy came out to a huge pop and kicked him in the balls. Edge/Batista/HHH vs Orton/Benoit/Jericho - EXCELLENT match. Benoit and Jericho did most of the work for the faces against Edge. A funny moment at the beginning of the match was Edge being the starting man for his team against Benoit. Edge wanted to tag out but HHH and Batista dropped to the floor. HHH grabbed the house mic and said "He's all yours champ". Later in the match, HHH went to the middle rope for something, but he jumped off and landed face first into Benoit's boot. HHH stoof there with his head held high for about 2 or 3 minutes. The ref and even Batista walked to the corner where he was to check on him. He assured them both that he was ok, and then took on step forward, and fell flat on his face, to the laughter of the crowd. Really funny stuff from HHH. The end came when Edge was tyying to spear Orton. He ran, and Orton did a vertical jump of about 5 feet, causing Edge to spear HHH into the corner. While they stood there arguing, Orton ran up and RKO'd both at the same time, then covered HHH for the win. Most of the work in the match from the face side came from Benoit and Jericho. It seemed Orton was just there for the hot tag, and to score the pinfall for his team. After the match, HHH walked down the aisle, selling the RKO like his neck had been broken. He got close to the curtain, and stumbled around a bit, then decided he needed to sit down. He then sat in a folding chair, but leaned backwards a bit too much and fell over. More funny stuff from the Game. Its really good to go to a house show and see the wrestlers really just having a good time in the matches, and pulling the occassional funny spot.

Yea that stuff was pretty bad. I'll give the kids credit though. It's still not the worst music I've ever heard. Keeping on the subject of kids doing music, has anyone ever listen to that Kidz Bop stuff? Their version of Linkin Park's "In the End" is almost Godlike.

My friend bought the Ric Flair shirt at the RAW houseshow in Augusta, Ga last night. I didnt think the shirt looked that bad. What exactly is that JR thing? Is it a plaque or something?

Not just a spinebuster but a HOSSTASTIC spinebuster. Double-A would be proud. </sarcasm>

Im not complaining about the comedy. I love when the WWE wrestlers add humor to their matches. Not everything needs to be taken seriously. My main gripe was to see how much Nova's moveset has been neutered.
-
I didnt see much of Nova's work from after ECW folded to before now. His moveset was really sad. For all the innovative moves he did in ECW, he's been reduced to Punch - Chop - Kick - Resthold. He did a couple comedy spots including pushups while choking Tajiri, and checking his pulse every now and then. Sadly, hes just another WWE wrestler with a fitness instructor gimmick now.

In the Undertaker/Faarooq match, wasnt this where Paul Bearer had turned Heel on Taker, and was forcing him to be exceptionally brutal on his opponents, or he would reveal "what happened to his brother"? I remember after Taker won the match, Paul Bearer forced him to chokeslam Farrooq about 3 times, then Ahmed Johnson ran in and gave Taker his Pearl River Plunge to try to "knock some sense into him". Either way you look at it, the match, itself, sucked a big ass.

No Mercy ------ Well, didn't the "Good Housekeeping Match" lead to Jeff Jarrett being blacklisted from WWE? I think he held up the IC belt for a lot of cash, and said if he wasnt paid he would take it to WCW with him, or not show up for the match at all. It was something like that. Halloween Havoc ------ Didn't Sid pull an impressive blade job when he was TKO'ed by Goldberg at Havoc? At least I think I am remembering the correct match. Also, did anyone else think Goldberg beating Sting for the title was a big shock? Did WCW always have the World Title tourney that Hart won, planned? Or did they just loose confidense in Sting? I know I cant find many reasons to justify a lot of WCW's decisions around this time.

What's the worst WCW Nitro Ever?
haws bah gawd replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
I too attended a Nitro in 2000. All I remember was Mrs. Hancock's "whos my baby daddy" storyline, and Buff Bagwell came out and said it was him, then got the KA-BONG from Jeff Jarrett for no apparent reason. -
In mid-2000 during HHH's semi face-turn he had a three on one handicap match against Edge, Christian, and Kurt Angle. Anyways, during his superman-esque squash of all three, he was about to superplex Angle from the top rope and you hear him yell out loud as fuck "STAND UP KURT!!!!". Then next thing you know, superplex.
-
How about HHH "breaking" JR's arm in mid 1999 yet all is forgiven when HHH does a semi-face turn in mid 2000 and when he makes his big return from the quad injury.

Im really looking forward to the London/Akio match, especially for what sounds like a sweet finish. No one is WWE takes a head-bump better than Akio (RVD take a good one too, but thats besides the point). I'll be at the Smackdown tapings next week, so at least I have the bra and panties match to look forward to.

I played it yesterday in EBGames. The thing that pissed me off is that your character turns SO DAMN SLOOOOW. I was getting shot at from behind and by the time I got my guy turned around to make a counter attack, I had lost nearly half my life. I give this a vote of crap out of 10.

In early 2000 I believe, in one episode of DBZ, they aired the phrase "YOU'RE PISSING OFF THE GOD OF LOVE!", and this was during their afternoon Toonami block. I never heard of any backlash about this, so I doubt anything will come of Antz.

I know it had some over-the top death scenes, but one part of the freeway pile-up at the beginning of Final Destination 2 really bothered me. I've beeen burned pretty badly before, so seeing the guy being burned alive trapped in his car, and seeing his skin charred and peeling off really disturbed me.

What the most dangerous finisher?
haws bah gawd replied to MikeJordan23's topic in General Wrestling
I would have to go with the Canadian Destroyer and Vertebreaker as the most potentially hazardous moves. The Ganso Bomb ( is it correct that this was only done once?) is pretty sick as well. -
It wasnt a WWE liscensed shirt, but I saw a white shirt with blue writing on the front in a t-shirt shop not too long ago that said: Hunter Killed my Push and All I got was this Crappy T-Shirt Well, I thought it was pretty funny. As far as an actual liscensed shirt I would go with the original nWo shirt.

This is a hard one. The HHH of 1999-2001 was almost godlike in the quality of his matches. Hes definitely lost a step or three since his quad injury, but I still see more quality performances coming from HHH than Jericho, and look forward to seeing HHH wrestle more-so than Jericho. However, I think that if HHH somehow survives RAW with the title next week, and Jericho takes his title shot, we will have a VERY good match main eventing RAW in 2 weeks.

I saw that "Dan" was eliminated, and, forgetting that there are two "Dan's" in the competition, immediately thought WWE had cut Puder. Smackdown sounds like bleh, but unless I missed it, Heidenreich was nowhere to be seen. Im going to the Smackdown tapings in Greenville, SC in 2 weeks, so hopefully that show will be decent.

Wrestler of the Year Chris Benoit Tag Team of the Year Im gonna go with other and say RVD and Rey Jr. They seem to have more chemistry together than any other team. Even thought theyve yet to win the tag belts, they entertain me more than any other team. Newcomer of the Year Luther Reigns Most Improved Wrestler Batista Finisher of the Year Other, Batista's Demonbomb and Clothesline from Hell. Angle of the Year Benoit winning the title Feud of the year Benoit vs HBK vs HHH PPV Match of the Year Benoit vs HHH vs HBK from WMXX TV Match of the Year Other, Benoit vs Orton from the night after Summerslam. Pay per View of the Year Royal Rumble. I was really disappointed with almost everything from WMXX except the main event.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
haws bah gawd replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Bigelow won in 9:23. With the worst looking "greetings from Asbury Park" ever. Wasnt Wrath's head a good foot and a half from the mat? I seem to remember the slo-mo replay clearly showing this, then Shivone (cant correctly spell his name to save my life) was hyping it as a devastating maneuver. Come to think of it, Bigelow blew the move many MANY times in his WCW run. -
Im working on a school project. I have an animated gif of an electrical current that I want to add to my presentation, but it is horizontal, and I need it to be vertical. Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

Cradle, Nothing To Gein, and Death Blooms were all either as good or better than dig. You're an idiot. Sorry we cant all have the same musical tastes, jackass.

The OAO Nightmare on Elm Street thread
haws bah gawd replied to JN News's topic in Television & Film
For reasons beyond my own knowledge, I find myself watching Part 2 more than any other in the series. I really enjoy it for some reason. Maybe because its so campy.
