I too am growing frustrated with Julian. He's really nothing more than a "yes man" to Claudette, and shows no real signs of any backbone. I'm impressed how week in and week out, this show turns Shane and Mara into even more of a couple of scumbags than they were the previous week. Though, I am concerned with what Corrine could be telling Dutch and Claudette in the preview for next week. I wonder if she is going to rat-out Vic over the Terry Crowley thing, or if she is simply going to get some help regarding being almost stalked by Shane and Mara? For some reason, I can see this kid trying to kill Dutch. Him killing his mother just seems too obvious of a direction to go in. I'm really psyched for these last few episodes.

In other words, Carlito didn't kick out in time so Robinson did his job correctly and counted to 3. Poor Lil' Naitch might be out of a job soon. Don't forget what happened to the other ref that counted a 3 on ECW (?) a few months back when the wrestler forgot to kick out. Referees are told to call the match as a shoot. How do we know the ref didn't come backstage and start talking shit? Very true, but who knows for sure?

I played this for a while in Gamestop earlier. I had a really good time with it. I play a little Bass in my free time, so I love the hell out of playing the bass in these games.

The Time Is Now... to Change Cena's Theme
haws bah gawd replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in The WWE Folder
I'll gladly have them go back to his awesome Thuganomics theme. I hate "The Time is Now", mainly because it made a good theme going into his first world title win, but now really serves no purpose. THE TIME IS NOW......FOR MY 4TH TITLE REIGN! Lame. -

Heres a recent shot of him from idiotsrunningawebsite.net -
Santino Marella has a ton of back tattoos now too. This confusing. I thought Vince didn't want people getting so much ink anymore. As far as I'm aware, all Santino has on his back is the Lion tattoo? Which he's had since he debuted. Hard to tell from pictures since he wears the singlet now, but I don't see any extras. So, did Orton get just his arms sleeved, or did he get more work on his body? I'm liking the skulls and stuff he has all over his arms now. Beats the circa-2001 tribal stuff that he has all over him already. Still, no other WWE ENTERTAINER has had more badass tattoos than Brock Lesnar.

I remember hearing about that rescue story a while back, and the guy is a true hero for doing that. The Moppy thing was honestly my favorite thing he ever did, but he was a very solid worker. I used to think his Rings of Saturn finisher looked so badass. I hope he's doing well.

they would never of worked as a heel/face
haws bah gawd replied to chrislatimer's topic in General Wrestling
The WCW announcers definitely acted like it was a heel turn. Sting hit Hogan with a baseball bat to win the WCW title at Fall Brawl 1999, and the announcers were all flipping out about how Sting had just betrayed us all and blah blah. IIRC, Sting hit Hogan, and probably got the pop of the night. The WCW faithful would never boo sting. Sting WAS WCW, and was there to defend them from the nWo. You probably couldnt make the fans at the time boo sting. Even now in the Main Event Mafia, he and Nash are outpopping most of the faces. Nash even got cheered like crazy when he cheated to pin Joe at the live Impact last week. Ricky Morton as a heel is just plain wrong. No one, and I mean NO ONE can play "face in peril" during a tag match like him. -

Million Dollar Man Red Dibiase, IMO, would NEVER work as a face. That's about as classic of a heel character as you can get. I kind of enjoyed Regal's various face runs. I just never really understood his "Achy Breaky Hart" sounding theme he used while teaming with Eugene. You can't deny how much the crowds would get behind him when he was facing HHH (during HHH's 2004 Heel run against Eugene), and beating the holy hell out of him the entire time, only for HHH to get DQ'ed or something. I always found it strange how Regal was one of the few faces that HHH would allow to control a match against him. -
WWF Wrestlemania X-SEVEN DVD on Ebay

Yea, I noticed they used to go for quite a bit. I've come across 2 of these within the past week at MovieStop, after not seeing a single one for 5 years or more. Maybe whoever had a secret stockpile of these is shipping them out finally. -
Just what I've been waiting for! The long awaited Mike Knox debut on RAW! *sets VCR* Anyway, Rey vs Bourne was awesome. It's good to see Rey is back in shape again, and has dropped the bit of a belly he had when he returned at Summerslam 2007.

George Bush doesn't. Just ask Kanye. -
Rey vs Bourne has potential to be amazing. I'm excited as hell for this one. I'm glad they gave Big Dave the title again. Taking nothing away from Jericho who has been on fire since his return, but Batista really needed a win. Honestly, how many title shots is he going to be on the losing end of before finally winning? I know 90% of the people here hate him, but I find him to be an above-average big man, and you can't deny how over he is.

This is horrible. Truly horrible. I hope they throw the book at the asshole that did this. -
Guess I'll contribute my 2 cents to the best of my memory (can't remember all exact dates): 1997: Eve 6, Our Lady Peace, and Third Eye Blind - worth noting is that after Our Lady Peace finished their set, well over half the crowd left. I ended up staying until the end. 2000: Some all-girl Christian Pop group (reminded me of the old P. Diddy group "Dream" except they were all legal), and Carmen - went with a friend and his on again/off again girlfriend, as well as a girl I was trying to hook up with at the time. Surprisingly decent show. 2005: Some no-name female country singer, Blake Shelton, and Rascal Flatts - literally dragged to this, kicking and screaming, by my ex-girlfriend. Blake Shelton who I had never heard of at the time, wasn't unbearable, even though I can't stand country music. Rascal Flatts was just kind of there, and LOUD AS FUCK. They closed the show with country-fied covers of "You Give Love A Bad Name", and "Pour Some Sugar on Me". 9/12/2006: Division, Epica, and Kamelot - Still the best show I have ever seen, Kamelot became my favorite metal band at this show. I can't even describe how enjoyable this was. Division kicked all sorts of ass for a local band. Epica played a fun set, and their singer is just gorgeous. She took a break about half-way through the set, and the band did a kickass cover of Death's "Crystal Mountain". About 10 minutes after Epica finished, Kamelot came up and played for about an hour and a half. The amazing thing about their set was unbeknownst to Roy Khan, his mic was dead for about the first 30-40 seconds of their first song "When the Lights Are Down". So that they didn't have to stop the show, he just sang as loudly as he could, and you could hear him fairly well over the rest of the background music. Khan's mic kicked in just before they went to the first chorus, and he was still singing as though his mic was dead, and he damn near shattered my eardrums. Kamelot more or less played a "greatest hits" set, and made me a fan for life. One of the other highlights of Kamelot's set was during "March of Mephisto", when Epica's Mark Jansen came on stage to do the death grunts during the chorus, since Dimmu Borgir's Shaggrath wasn't on tour with Kamelot. I couldn't hear well for about 4 days due to my friend deciding it was a good idea to sit next to their 10-foot speakers, but DAMN I had a good time! 12/5/2006: Leave's Eyes and Blind Guardian: I had never heard of Leave's Eyes, but they played a good set. They only played for about 20-25 minutes, which was disappointing. They were filming footage for their still unreleased DVD, so between every song, their backup deathgrunt guy Alex Krull would yell stuff like "WHO WANTS TO BE ON MY DVD MOTHERFUCKERS?!?!?!?!", and "SHOW ME YOUR HANDS FOR MY FUCKIN' DVD, YEA!!!!!!". Still an overall good set, despite the colorful language. I had always heard good things about Blind Guardian, but I guess they were just having a bad night. They just seemed to be going through the motions, and weren't into their set much. 11/17/2007: Paradise Lost and Nightwish: I'm not much into PL, so I just kind of stood there for the majority of their set. Nightwish took about an hour to get on stage after PL finished, but played a hell of a show. They did several of the old Tarja songs with their new singer, Annette, and she did a very good job with them. A fun show overall, even though the Masquerade in Atlanta has very poor air conditioning and I felt like the floor was going to fall out from under me and minute.

WWE General Discussion - October 2008

He basically wants clones of himself. My main problem with Vince was his "ONE-TWO-HE GOT 'EM!!!.......wait, no he didn't". While he wasn't as unbearable as say, Don West or even Tony Shiavone, but just about any other announcer could be considered equal or better. This kind of attitude is true of any organization though, where the owner wants things done his or her way, regardless of how much it may damage the product or overall presentation. For instance, I was formerly the Director of Marketing for a wholesale company. I'm not saying I am a genius with words by any means, but my work was professional, and received acclaim from past employers, and was one of the keys in getting hired. Well, the general manager of the company always wanted things done on the marketing HIS way. Case in point, we were running a sale to try to get rid of some overstocked weight-loss pills (Stacker in particular). No matter what I said or how I tried to convince him of what an embarrassing idea it was, he insisted on having "SHED THAT BADONKADONK BUTT!" all over that particular campaign. So, like my former boss, Vince will always want things done his way and no other way because it's his company to do with as he pleases. No matter how ridiculous his announcers end up sounding, or how negatively it may affect the overall presentation. Don't forget, Vince is the same man who has time and again said he knows what we want better than we do. -
The only thing that's really stopped me from picking it up is the long load times after a random battle, while you're waiting to return ot the "overworld screen".

I was surprised HSM3 didn't make more than it did to be honest. When my girlfriend and I were getting tickets for Saw 5 on Friday afternoon, I was seeing time and time again, where a couple adults would show up with 10-15 kids in tow (possibly a day care field trip?), buying tickets for HSM3 for all of them. I have a feeling HSM 3 will probably have a lot of staying power in theaters. My girlfriend's niece for instance, watched the first one on Disney Channel, I know at least 15 times, maybe more. I can see lots of kids begging their parents to take them to see this time and time again.

I too have found this to be of some concern. Honestly, I don't know how the commentators can maintain their cool during a live broadcast if Vince is constantly screaming things like "LAUGH AT CRYME TYME, YOU STUPID ASS!" or "LAUGH AT HORNSWOGGLE! TALK ABOUT HOW FUNNY HE IS, YOU DUMB MOTHERFUCKER!" into their headsets. Especially with Michael Cole, I can only imagine how much Vince was yelling into his headset "CALL EDGE THE ULTIMATE OPPORTUNIST, TALK ABOUT WHAT A DAMN PIRANHA HE IS AND HOW HE WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANY SITUATION!". Me must have been yelling that into Cole's headset every 5 minutes during Edge's various runs on Smackdown. I'm sure the job pays well enough, but there's only so much verbal abuse someone can take before they flip out and inevitably walk off on a live broadcast. I can really understand where Foley is coming from. I wonder if Jeff Jarrett or someone else is constantly yelling into Don West and Mike Tenay's headsets? -

I think New Super Mario Bros. still sells for full price as well.
-
Probably because it still sells well, and Christmas is coming up soon enough? I saw several commercials for this game tonight too. The one thing that gripes me about most Nintendo commercials is the really bad overacting. Not to mention the people looking like they just stepped out of a Sears catalog. Party games like this tend to sell by the truckload though, so you can't blame them for trying.

I picked this game up earlier this afternoon. Fun story about how I got the game for $22 following the next section. I've played about two hours of it so far, and I am VERY impressed with what I've seen. I have a TV with a native 1080p resolution, and for some reason, my PS3 will only display in 720p, but that's entirely beside the point. The graphics, specifically the lighting and textures are truly impressive, and the sound is very well done. Everything seems to come together just right to make this almost what I would expect a video game version of Event Horizon to play and look like. From what I've seen so far, I highly recommend this. Now, onto getting the game for $22. I was in a Target yesterday afternoon and saw that they had the collector's editions of GTA 4 on clearance for $22. I'm not a fan of the GTA series, but decided I would pick it up since it was clearanced for next to nothing. So, I got home last night, and I was going through the large box that the game came in, and figured why pay another $60+ to pick up Dead Space? I now had a factory-sealed copy of GTA 4, so why not return it to Wal-Mart which accepts nearly anything in a return? At first they didn't want to accept the return, but once I told them I just wanted store credit, if that was OK. So, in closing, I kept the badass extra stuff that came with the GTA set, and returned my sealed GTA 4 for full Wal-Mart value and got Dead Space in return. Not the most honest thing in the world, but it worked out.
