WCW Monday Nitro 3-26-2001(Last Episode)

Thanks for this! -
I wonder how some of the Best Buy home theater people maintain their employment. I once went into a Best Buy looking for something I could use to split my Optic audio connections, so that I could have my PS3 and 360 all connected to my 5.1 surround receiver at the same time (only has one input). The guy told me, with no hesitation, that such a device did not exist. I walked to the gaming department, and within 3 minutes, found a switch box made by some company called Psyclone. I then showed the guy that such a device DID exist, and he just gave a shrug. Prick.

Before I got my first HDTV, I had my 360 connected via component cables to a 32" SDTV. All you have to do is look at the part of the component cable that connects to the 360. There is a small sliding switch. Make sure its not switched to HDTV and it should work fine. I didn't know until recently that you could get 1080p out of component cables, though I will admit I do see a bit of a difference in 1080p via HDMI.

I recognized the Deliverance spoof, and I have seen the pinball machine rape in another film, though I don't remember the title. I couldn't place the first rape scene though. Any ideas? This episode was just OK and not much else.

Was that the tryouts where Piper was building his team for the WCW Uncensored stable match? I think Piper even had a very green Goldberg (with hair) on his team. A week later, even WCW realized Piper's team wouldn't amount to much and gave him the Horsemen. Sid vs Foley should've been an entertaining match but I can see why people might have tuned-out.

I voted for Evan Bourne. I think in the long-run, he is going to get so over, due to his move set and athletic ability, that WWE will have no choice but to notice and strike when the time is right. Benoit couldn't work the mic worth dick, but he was so good, WWE pushed him because they knew people believed in him. Bourne is in a similar situation. For the love of God, keep him off the mic, and let his work rate do the talking. I would also like to add that Paul Birchill is one of the most underutilized talents on the roster. The man is sickeningly agile for his size, and has some great power moves, but he is stuck doing job after job, and somehow survived the Summer talent cuts. I still enjoy watching his "Monster Moment" clips on YouTube, but get pissed about what could have been. Vladimir Kozlov - This guy is huge, but his move set mostly sucks. I don't buy his Headbutt of Doom and his Reverse DDT is weak. You would think for a man of his size, WWE would assign him a better finisher. The Brian Kendrick - Again, I don't "get" him. He's an average lightweight and nothing more. Paul London was far and away the more talented of the two, but due to Vince McMahon's stupid ass grudges, he is lucky to still be employed. Lance Cade - A decent wrestler, but really has no gimmick, and nothing to make him stand-out. I like his finisher at least. Kofi Kingston - Amazing agility, but not much else. His BOOM BOOM BOOM schtick is annoying at best. He is still entertaining in the ring though. Santino Marella - Fantastic on the mic, and a great comedy character. His charisma alone will take him far. I've seen some of his "Russian Tazz" work from OVW, and the guy has GREAT technical ability, and an arsenal of sick suplexes. I think he may be too far gone as a comedy character for people to take him seriously if he starts busting out the throws. Ted DiBiase Jr. - I think the sky is the limit for him (I nearly gave him the nod over Evan Bourne). He improves by the week on the mic, and he's solid-enough in the ring. I would like his finisher more if he held onto the Million Dollar Dream until the opponent was on the verge of submitting, THEN drove him backwards with the legsweep. Carlito - Lost cause. I hear he's in a team with Primo because WWE hopes Primo's work rate will rub off on him. MVP - Working with Benoit MADE this guy. He sucked, and sucked hard until Benoit took him under his wing and led him to some great matches. Eventually WWE will get over the smartass dick comments. I don't see him becoming a World Champion, but he will remain a key star. R-Truth - Another person I considered ranking above Evan Bourne. Great Mic Skills, Agility, and reasonable Technique. Future world champion.

The moment your favorite superstar or any wrestler jumped the shark

Don't forget, how many Stunners did Austin hit Kurt Angle with at Summerslam 2001, only for him to kick out every time? I believe it was 3. Austin's death move, was reduced to nothing during his heel run. No one except The Rock at Wrestlemania 15 (IIRC) had kicked out of the Stunner up until that point (Bret Hart may have). Unless Austin was cheating his balls off, he rarely got a pin after hitting a Stunner during the heel run. -

HHH was the MAN before he tore his quad. He was flat-out amazing in the ring. He's gotten much, MUCH better since his 2002 return, but I still haven't seen him perform like he did from 99-01. -
What in the world is worth 200 gamerpoints?! Ah! I know! Beat storyline mode with Triple H.....twice!

Personally, I wouldn't mind a spin-off based on Quagmire. A half-hour of his sex puns would make for some good tv. Cleveland, I'm still iffy about though.

I think I had succeeded in pushing Shaboopie into the back of my mind before you guys brought it up again. That's still the worst thing Family Guy has EVER done, followed very closely by The Bird is the Word. I enjoy watching the reruns and such, but sometimes Seth goes way over the top with the musical bits.

... and they'll probably still say that they received more votes than EVER this year!

True.

I was actually awaiting a Charlie Haas appearance tonight. Especially since he teased over the weekend that his next impersonation would be Goldberg. WWE must be doing something right. They've made people care about Charlie Haas.

Closest thing to a resolution that I could find in a half-assed Google search. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/12/22/to..._teen_game_ban/ The strange part is Gamestop still carries this game, used. Does that mean they're selling a shitty SHITTY game featuring kiddy porn, or was the ban on distribution of the game eventually lifted? "The plaintiff is still a teenager and wishes to attend college, develop her career and be active in her community and church," the lawsuit said. I especially love the part about the little whore wants to continue to be active in her church. I don't want to sound like a dick, but I'm sure her willingly giving consent to the camera crew to shoot her tits for the game, went over well with the other members of the congregation.

Oh my GOD at that Au Revoir over the top rope. IIRC, the Dudleys almost beat the shit out of the 2 of them in the back, after they screwed up that move. That made me cringe. That rolling Back Cracker is also pretty amazing!

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

Yea, I thought Rey's Daredevil costume was pretty badass. His old Spiderman and Flash costumes were great as well. I just didn't get into his short chubby Silver Surer outfit from Summerslam last year. There's even a Toys R Us exclusive two-pack with Chavo, of Rey in the Silver getup. Wonder whatever happened to those sweet sleeveless coats that he wore for a short time after debuting in WWE? -
The Bird is the Word got fucking ANNOYING after the first time. I swear sometimes I don't know why I waste a half hour of my time watching something that only Seth MacFarlane finds funny.

The other day I was picking up The Mist on Blu Ray at Target. After I paid for it and the register was printing my receipt, I also received a coupon for $5 off a Blu Ray. So, today I went back and picked up Iron Man. The strange thing is the standard Blu Ray, and the Limited Edition that comes in a swank helmet case are both the same price, so I only ended up paying about $24 after tax. Good buy. Stole the pic from Ebay.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread

The only sucky thing about there being "survivors" is not seeing them on film. They are really only acknowledged in the Expanded Universe. I can only assume that once Lucas passes, whoever inherits the rights to the franchise will eventually produce a series of films that take place after ROTJ. -
I enjoyed the hell out of his "put every big man in WCW in the Torture Rack" angle in 1996-ish. Going from guys like Scott Norton, to Roadblock, to finally the Giant.

- wrestling attitude Love them or hate them, they draw. Personally I dont mind DX. As long as theyre used for special appearances. The DX Squash Tour of 2006 got old after a little while.
