I only caught about half of last week's new episode. It was decent enough for what I saw. I have yet to be able to sit through an entire episode of American Dad.

WWE General Discussion - October 2008

Anyone watching the Wrestlemania Premiere on MNTV? For it being an hour of glorified music videos, the production values are REALLY good. -
Color me a little underwhelmed. Steel Books don't really do much for me, and the extra cost isn't justified, IMO.

Could we start an "Awesome wrestling .gifs" thread? That could have some interesting things in it.

As mentioned previously, MVP is in the doghouse for treating the drug testing urine collectors poorly ("So, you went to college to check out dicks"). Yea, I forgot about that smart little remark. Seems he has Manu to thank for having his dick stared at during a drug test. So, if he has a problem, he should have went to him for fucking up the drug testing procedures for everyone. Not take it out on a drug tester who's only doing his job and following the company policy.

If you like that, you should get the Iron Man 2-disc set from Target. It comes in a replica of the Mark 3 helmet. Is that standard DVD or Bluray? Check this set out: http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.a...amp;catid=24100 Standard. That set is sweet; alas, I can't afford it. Fuck the helmet case at Target! I am all about this one soon as I get some extra cash. Could definitely do some damage with the $50 Sideshow card!

Sadly, I don't think Victoria will ever again see the mega-push she was getting as a psycho from 02-03. I think she's capable of a lot more than just losing to the Bella twins week-in and week-out. She's far and away the best pure female WRESTLER they have. Though, I haven't seen any of Nattie's work from WWE or OVW (FCW?) so I can't make an opinion of her. MVP must've refused to take out one of the writer's laundry or something. I can't remember the last time the guy won a match. Though, he did get almost a year-long run with the US belt so maybe this is WWE's way of having him "give back"?

I'm actually enjoying this subplot with Cassidy. Can't wait to see what direction they go with it. Anyone know how many episodes are left?

Now I have some strange feeling WWE is going to give Jeff Hardy a short "thank you" run with the belt, and Vladamir costs HHH the match. Either that or Vladamir runs down for the no contest, leading to a triangle match at Survivor Series or Cyber Sunday.

Not that I know of, and it really surprised me. Finally someone figured out a counter to the high knee. That 8-man tag was on fire last night. Loved every second of it, especially Kane's Chokeslam/Powerbomb thing on Kofi. Wouldn't mind seeing him find some way to use that more often. Kane can fucking GO when he's in the ring with a smaller guy, or Big Show (see their Extreme Rules match in 2006 for the ECW Title) for some reason.

I saw them live once. A girl three rows from me passed out while they were playing. I think they have a live album coming out, though I'm still waiting for a new studio album. Also, one of their former bands, Thorr's Hammer, weren't too bad. Check out the album Dommedagsnatt if you haven't. Passed out? I'd put my money on fell asleep. I guess I just don't "get it". I remember the song that's playing from many many years ago. That looks pretty damned dreadful to sit through.

It's been a little over a year, and Jarrett is already using his late wife to play-off an angle with Kurt Angle. Nice one Jeff.

Someone refresh my memory, did Billings do much as Captain?

I too enjoyed Glenn Close's presence on the show.

Wow, let's have a look at what the Full House stars have been up to (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) Danny - One of the most foul-mouthed stand-ups of all time, but a heck of a nice guy. Has one of the best versions of the Aristocrats joke Joey - Did Surreal Life, some cartoon voices, and not much else Jessie - Famous for being Rebecca Romijn's Ex, landed a role on ER which is about to be canceled Rebecca - Still hot, and has been on a crap load of TV shows and movies DJ - Supposed "hell fire and brimstone" christian, looks like she's been doing a lot of Lifetime movies Michelle - One of the twins supposedly killed Heath Ledger, the other one who knows Stephanie - Hot as all hell, used to host a dance show Nicky and Alex - jack shit My favorite guest star on the show is still Miko Hughes. He was always great playing the role of "smart ass little kid" I'm really looking forward to Saw V. Has anyone heard any plot details?

WWE General Discussion - September 2008

I just can't stand to watch him in the ring I suppose. And those 'brutal' shoulders to the mid section when he has his opponent in the corner? amazing. I still can't figure out how in the blue hell he got over. At least Cena is somewhat entertaining to watch in the ring.... He got over because he played "cool ass-kicker who rarely speaks", who was allowed to always be 1 step ahead of HHH when they feuded. Don't forget the pimp suits he used to wear every week. That got him over big with a lot of the people around here. One of my favorite Batista moments is still a match he had with Rhino shortly before Wrestlemania 21. He had just hit the Batista Bomb, and as he went for the pin, the crowd erupted into a chant of "ONE MORE TIME! ONE MORE TIME!". He stood up, gave a big smile, and yelled ONE MORE TIME!, got loudest pop of the night, and hit another Batista Bomb for the win. -
Wow, someone doesn't understand the difference between reality and acting.

Remember that graphic fuckup on Nitro in 99 or 2000, where they had the announcers names mixed up? That was hilarious! For those of you that have the Starrcade 1996 VHS (EVEN THOUGH ON THE BOX IT'S LABELED AS STARRCADE 1997 *GROAN*), check out the advertisement for nWo Souled Out. At the end of the commercial, there is some text which reads "IT'LL BE ON ON VIDEO CASSETTE!" -
Nights in Rodanthe is based off a Nicolas Sparks book. If you've seen or heard of The Notebook, you pretty much know what to expect. Whatever happened with Hamlet 2? I haven't seen an advertisement for it in a couple weeks, and don't remember seeing anything in the Box Office reports. Did it tank that bad?

Kind of figured Eagle Eye would do well. I don't think I've heard of Fireproof Gold, and looks like Dark Knight finally dropped out of the top 12. It had a hell of a run though.

I like the 2-Disc Blu Ray case. I'm a fan of novelty cases like that.

Heavy Metal and subgenre description

Thanks for the info. I'll hit up Blogspot later and see if I can get hold of those PL albums. I feel the same way regarding Tarja's solo album. "I Walk Alone" was a good effort, but dear lord the rest of that album is horrible beyond imagination. I don't know what she was thinking with "Poison". I enjoyed DPP. It was a dramatic change for Nightwish, but I thought it was one of the better albums I bought last year (the one track I really detested was "Meadows of Heaven"). "The Poet and the Pendulum" is one of my favorite tracks from them, and Marco is going a good job maintaining the epic metal sound they have while Annette does the "poppy" vocals. IMO, Annette does a decent enough job adding her own vocal style to some of the classic NW stuff in concert, such as "Wish I Had an Angel", "Nemo", and "Ever Dream". -

I'll use this thread to bitch about why I walked from my last employer. Up until the end of March of this year, I was a Web Master/Warehouse Manager/Marketing Director/IT Manager for a wholesale company. It paid OK considering I live with the parents still ($955 before taxes, twice a month), but I ended up walking on them. The general manager was the laziest excuse for a human being I have ever met. He literally ran the place from his house, over the phone. He would call 50-60 times a day to ask what you were working on, only to say well stop, I need you to do blah blah blah. He once called me while I was packing shipments, to ask me to stop what I was doing, and look up some Call of Duty codes for him on Gamefaqs because he kept dying on a level. I ended up so stressed by the son of a bitch, that about once a week, I couldn't come into work due to paralyzing upper-body pains caused by the sheer stress I was under. At one point I had to go to the emergency room because I was certain I was having a heart attack (my blood pressure had hit 180/120). Turns out my heart was 100% OK, I was just in the middle of a nervous breakdown. Since walking away, save for the sore back muscles which I still have (6 months later), and the occasional panic attack (the stress at this place REALLY did a number on me), I have been relatively fine. Now, I work for myself. I do grounds-keeping and computer repair/website setups, to pay the bills. Though, with Fall being here, the grass cutting has GREATLY slowed, so I'm in the process of trying to find permanent work.
