I dunno about the rest of you, but I thoroughly enjoyed Zybyzsko vs Ledoux last night. It'd definitely one of my biggest guilty pleasures of the AWA replays. Ledoux isn't the best wrestler by any means, but he and Larry had the crowd eating out of their hands. Ledoux eventually won by DQ after Zybyzsko pulled the Ref in front of a punch, but it's a really fun match IMO.

The only redeeming quality of WCW/nWo Thunder is the stable system. I enjoyed experimenting with the stable alignments to see how the game changed the wrestlers ring attire. A Raven's Flock-aligned Hollywood Hulk Hogan in Blue and Black gear looked badass. Plus you haven't lived until you've played Thunder in 1080p on a PS3. The game actually doesn't look too bad when all the jagged polys are smoothed-out.

I haven't heard anything from this album yet. To be honest, it's produced by Rick Rubin, so I honestly don't have much hope for it. I just don't care much for his style. Two questions though: 1 - Did Lars drop the trashcan drums? 2 - How does Unforgiven 3 sound?

James Storm possibly suffers a concussion

IIRC, he lost it to Edge, then Edge lost the belt back to him the next night. How times have changed..... On the subject of houseshows, 2 weekends before WM 21, I watched Batista and HHH do their WM match, move for move, at a houseshow in Columbia, SC. Kind of surreal to watch the exact same match on PPV a couple weekends later. -
This move takes ultra-cooperation from the person on the receiving end. They have to help swing the guy around their body twice, pull him up for a powerbomb, then drop him behind them, and give themselves a vertebreaker. I thought the Canadian Destroyer looked contrived, but this thing is ridiculous.

Honestly, I just pass Hassan off as an attempt at the cheapest heat imaginable by WWE. The guy got heat because of how he was booked. As someone else said, he sucked ass in the ring, but had decent-enough mic skills to get the gimmick over. As others have said as well, Rumble 2005 wasn't a racist beatdown on the guy. Why is a beatdown that happens to a wrestler who isn't white, perceived as racially motivated? The other wrestlers didn't agree with his views and kicked the crap out of him. End of story. Honestly, I dont miss the guy.

WWE General Discussion - September 2008

Did this happen all at once, on the same day? If so, I assume it was never explained? Only real point I can see to this is WWE possibly one day calling these guys up, having them possibly make a name for themselves with their WWE-created names, then when the day comes that they earn their release, or are outright fired, they have to work the indy's under their nobody real names. Kind of a jerk move on WWE's part, but that's just beating a dead horse. Still can't get much worse than Gunner Scott, Garrison Cade, or the ultra boring (previously stated) Scotty Goldman, though. -
I like how so little attention has gone into the entrances that the wrestlers enter from the left of the entry way. Look at the video and you'll see Santino just kind of walks out of nowhere onto the stage.

F4W/WON WWE Notes - September 9th - 15th

So if they were considering Punk retaining as a possibility originally, does that mean they might put it back on him at the cage match next week? I wouldn't mind a run-in from Shawn Michaels, just as Jericho is about to win, to put the belt back on Punk. As long as Jericho and HBK continue to put on their usual good matches, they can keep feuding for all I care. I can see WWE making Punk a transitional champion for Orton in the long run though. -

Eddy Guerrero "taking a bullet" for Lita back in 2001. Eddy had been teasing a face turn for weeks, and was trying to form an alliance with Lita and the Hardys. Rhyno had run into the ring one week and was going to Gore Lita. Eddy dived in front of Rhino and took the Gore, thus earning the trust of Lita and the Hardys. What made this moment all the better was Vince giving Austin a heartfelt Thank You after Austin's rescue was over. God I miss Undertaker as the Lord of Darkness. -
The only reason I would like to see Christian back in WWE is so they can bring his badass "Just Close Your Eyes" theme out of the mothballs. If he went back, he would get lost in the shuffle with any brand except ECW which I really don't see him fitting in with. As much as I wouldn't mind seeing him back, TNA is where he belongs.

I liked how they more or less tricked Billings into blowing his "injury" story. The side of him they showed in the interrogation room is the side of him I wish they would always show. I like what they're doing with Ronnie now, and I look forward to him being the long-term strike team leader, even if it is for just this final season. Vick is great as always. I'm going to be sad as fuck when this show ends.

Yea, I could definitely tell where it happened. Looked like Shawn had 2 choices, land directly on the top of his head, or try to break the fall, which he did, and potentially still injure himself. Also, did it seem to anyone else like he stiffed the holy hell out of Lance Cade with that kick after the fall?

He's a Store Assistant Manager, and makes roughly 40-60 K a year without a bump taken. Not too bad. Depending on geographic location and cost of living, not too shabby at all. -

Speaking of former ECW Champions, doesn't Shane Douglas work at a Target somewhere? -
No, but I'll have a smile on my face if he gets destroyed by the next big thing in under 10 seconds at a PPV. A friend of mine brought up this scenario tonight: Let Santino go through with this Honk-O-Meter thing, and let it get to the 63rd week. Then the week he is to break the record, let history repeat itself a little bit. Lets say over a year from now this thing with Haas is still working. Have Santino cut a promo declaring that the following week, he will tie the Honky Donky Man, then have the Ultimate Warrior's music hit. Have Haas charge the ring and squash Santino.

I'm sure this has already mentioned, but: Austin's steel chair beatdown of Lita in 2001 I still have a hard time watching this. Say what you will about Lita, but she was a hell of a trooper for taking that beating.

I'm interested in seeing Orton since his motorcycle accident. I guess since he supposedly had about 3 months added to his recovery time, we will be seeing he and Cena return to the ring around the same time? The battle royal should be interesting. I guess following WWE booking, whoever comes out looking the strongest will make it clear of who WON'T be winning the scramble.

I'm glad someone else took the time to point out it's not necesaarily racially-motivated that WWE asked MVP to study Shelton's work. Let's face it, MVP sucked and sucked hard before his series with Benoit last year, so it shows that given the right 'teacher', he can learn and apply what he has learned to his in-ring style. MVP became one of the better workers on SD after his months-long series with Benoit, so maybe by working with Shelton, or at least studying him, he can get just that much better. -

I enjoyed the hell out of "Got You where I want You" by The Flys. It's on my ipod. A lot of that cheesy shit from my senior year of high school is still listenable. "Run" by Collective Soul, even "What It's Like" by Everlast (whatever happened to him?) are still good.

I agree the new Dragonforce was surprisingly good. My only complaint is that "This Fire Still Burns" or whatever it's called, sounds way too much like TTFAF.

I think it was on Volume 4 if it's the one I'm thinking of, and I know he used it a few times, but afterwards it was always Edge's music until the split. I didn't really like that theme. But while searching for the theme I'm thinking of, I found this, which I don't recall ever hearing (and it's pretty cool): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1SgHcsHiWE This would be the one I was thinking of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZINUb8EUno Yea, I remember him using the theme from Vol. 4 (still one of their best music compilations) for a little while. I can't recall ever hearing the first one, but it does sound good. Seeing the pic of him in the 2nd link with the Lightheavyweight Belt was interesting. Christ that thing was small.

Lets talk about the 24/7 era Hardcore title
haws bah gawd replied to Ravenbomb's topic in General Wrestling
Did WWE ever have a TV reason to explain why Edge stopped carrying-around the Hardcore title that Foley gave him in 2006? Anyways, I REALLY enjoyed the Hardcore title. Probably more than someone should. I liked how WWE put the effort forward to have custom versions made for Bradshaw and Tommy Dreamer. Even though Bradshaw's just looked like the women's title with a bull's head sticking out the front, and Dreamer's was a NYC license plate on a strap, it was still unique. I miss the hell out of that belt. I remember some BS rumor that started going around in 2001 ( I think), after Rhyno won the title, that he was going to get an extended run, to try to give the belt some crediblity, but he lost it to who I believe was Chris Jericho the night after he won.
