I'm wondering if the jobbing-spree Punk is on, is WWE's way of having him pay his dues before getting a big title win. My main evidence on this is the jobbing-tour 2003/4 that Roots Genoa went on before getting his big push and eventual title win at WMXX. Mr. Genoa jobbed to everyone and their mother in the months leading up to his title push, so maybe something similar is happening with Punk.

Random Thoughts 3-27-08 to 5-28-08
haws bah gawd replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in The WWE Folder
Anyone seem the liveautographs.com commercial? It's a site where you can get a sports star to do a live streaming video of them signing somethin for you, and giving you a personalized message at the same time. Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin are the main 2 guys they're using to hype the site currently. Austin says in the commercial "this is a very limited event, so get your BUTT online and sign up now!", or something to that extent. -
Yea, the previous week on SD, Booker had gone to visit a witch doctor and got a bag of stuff that was supposed to be able to destroy the Undertaker. At the PPV, Booker took the powder that was in the bag and threw it in Undertaker's face. 'Taker just stared at him strange, then beat the shit out of him. Mordecai's debut was a fun squash match.

Damn, just DAMN.

THis is going to be tough to remember, but here's my best shot: WWF World - Ultimate Warrior (say what you will about Mr. Warrior, but he's what got me watching wrestling in the first place) Intercontinental - Mr. Perfect Tag Team Champs - Demolition (like Warrior, I enjoyed their characters a lot and watched WWF more because of them) WCW World - Sting Can't remember who else was a WCW Champion at the time. I only heard about WCW when a friend of mine at school told me if I liked the Ultimate Warrior, I would like Sting as well.

Care to help a fellow TSM'er pay some hospital bills?
haws bah gawd replied to haws bah gawd's topic in TSMarketplace
Its cool. Thanks for the kind words. Just wanted to add that several new auctions are listed now. -
Dunno if any of you guys are into Transformers, but I'll be listing some games as well. Anyways, heres the deal. Long story short, I have about $2,000 in hospital bills. I had to go to the emergency room this past December over what I thought was Heart problems. I thought that I was having a heart attack, but it ended up being severe stress. However, after appeal after appeal, my insurance carrier has ultimately decided to not absorb any of the cost on the terms that I have a "pre-existing condition". So, here I am, $2,000 in debt and I need to get this bill behind me. Over the next couple days I will be listing several Transformers from my collection, as well as some various video games and such on Ebay to try to get this taken care of. Thanks in advance to anyone who feels like helping out. Up for auction now is a body for RID Fort Max, a G1 Jetfire with Box, Metroplex, Armada Megatron with Extra Minocons, Astrotrain, and Blitzwing. Along with Illusion of Gaia for the SNES. I'll be listing some Dreamcast stuff, as well as some more Transformers over the next several days. Here's a link to my auctions for those that are interested.

I like how a couple of the movies that they've nominated for "Best Summer Movie So Far" haven't even been released yet. Indiana Jones, Sex in the City, Speed Racer (opens this week, but still). What's the deal with the best kiss category? Wheres the standard-issue girl-on-girl kiss that used to get nominated every year to get the prepubescent teens to tune in? I like how most of the cast of Superbad was nominated for Breakthrough performance. Best Comedic Performance - AMY ADAMS?!?!?!?! I sat through Enchanted with my girlfriend and there was nothing remotely funny about her performance. I could see her nominated for best song and dance routine easily, but not best comedic performance. Why did I just type a paragraph ranting about the Movie Awards? I DON'T KNOWii!!

Ultimate Warrior to make a return to the ring
haws bah gawd replied to The Buzz's topic in General Wrestling
Supposedly Warrior has been in contact with Booker T about using his wrestling school to train for this match. Now that would be something. Wonder if Booker T himself would be interested in training him? Booker did wonders for the Boogeyman, taking him from sucking the Devil's cock in the ring, to just marginally sucking, so he could probably help Warrior some too. Then again, Warrior has probably said "Being Black Don't Make the World Work" at a college somewhere, so that's probably right out the window. -
Yep, just padding out the number of times he's been champion.

We all knew this was going to happen, so one really can't complain. However, how long until someone in WWE upper management steps in and stops all this conflict of interest bullshit?
-
The Soul Edge opening is amazing still. Love the BG music as well. Any idea where I could get a d/l?
-
^^ That's what I'm talking about. If that huge thing was a BABY, then that's what I want to see in the sequel. I want to see Mom or Dad come to town looking for it.

Wow, there are still Babbages around? I thought they had all turned into Gamestops. I wonder if it's even possible to crash Microsofts' servers?

I'm perfectly fine with HHH getting another run. I just hope this means the end of the "Pimp-My-Belt" for now. I'd like to see HHH come out with the spinner tomorrow (or at least one of the replicas since I know WWE spent an arm and a leg on the real thing) smash it with his sledgehammer, and demand Regal or even Vince bring him "Brock's Belt". HHH just looked silly at No Mercy wearing the Spiner around his waist. Again, fuck the haters, and long live the King of Kings.

I agree with the SSBB review 100%. I've tried a few times to play this in Gamestop only to find that the camera in some levels is pulled so far back that I can barely see anything my character is doing. Another random complaint of mine occurs during whichever of the levels has the long b ridge in it, and not a lot else. I was playing in that level and one of the characters I was fighting decided to throw a bomb or something that destroyed most of the bridge, causing me to fall through. No big deal, except for the fact that it was such a wide gap, that everytime my character respawned, I respawned directly over the gap, and fell to my death each time. Just a glitch I know, but it was still no less annoying.

• Commentary by Director Matt Reeves - Haven't watched with this yet. • Easter Eggs - Haven't looked for these yet • Document 01.18.08: The Making of Cloverfield - VERY good and in depth. I didn't realize just how much of this movie was CGI until seeing this. Only about 10 feet of the Brooklyn Bridge was real, and the rest, including the skyline behind it was CGI. Very good stuff. • I Saw It! It's Alive! It's Huge! - Just more footage of the monster, and the many ideas that went into creating it. • Deleted Scenes with Optional Commentary - Kinda disappointing. I can see why they were taken out. • Alternate Endings with Optional Commentary - Again, a disappointment. The only differences are: in the first alt. ending, there is alternate COney Island Footage, and in the 2nd, you see a millisecond of a military person pulling the camera from the bridge rubble.

The DVD is out tomorrow. Anyone else picking it up, or planning to wait for the Blu-Ray later this year?
-
I agree with pretty much everyone here. After the first part of this season was a little dull, they finally started getting it right with "Canada On Strike", "Eek A Penis", and this past week's episode. Can't wait for this week's. Any word on when Season 11 will hit DVD?

WISHLIST: I'm still waiting for a decent looking Pedigree to be put in the game. The first few games had a decent looking one, but it had no height. Then they added the "safe" version, with HHH and the opponent leaping about 6 feet into the air. Finally a few years back, they added a "spiking" version, but the ridiculous flopping afterwards kind of ruined the effect of the move. At least the finally managed to reanimate Big Show's chokeslam back in 2006 (or was it the 2005 version?) after they used the same animation since the very first game. I'd also like to see Kane's chokeslam get a makeover so the opponent doesn't roll onto their chest after taking the move. I just REALLY hope they don't screw up the create a finisher feature. I have a feeling it may take them a couple years to get it right.

I get mine from various message boards and such. I mainly listen to European Power Metal, and a lot of it is unfortunately impossible to find in the record shops around here.

TSM Town Hall: Legacy of a Great Match at Mania
haws bah gawd replied to Dandy's topic in The WWE Folder
Not really sure where to start with this one. Everyone usually steps up their game at Wrestlemania. You have guys pushing themselves to the limit, and doing all in their ability to create their own special moment. You can almost always look forward to a wrestler doing stuff in the ring you wouldn't normally see them doing, when their just wrestling a nothing TV match, and going through the motions. 1. What wrestler has had the most memorable Mania matches for you? I have 2 for this one. 1 - Stone Cold Steve Austin - mounting injuries cut his career short, but the guy did some amazing things in his handful of 'Mania matches. His match with The Rock at X-SEVEN is my favorite match of all time, and his I Quit match with Bret is a classic in it's own right. 2 - Shawn Michaels - I know anytime he is in a match, I can look forward to seeing something special. They don't call him the Showstopper for nothing. He's had more Wrestlemania matches than nearly anyone else on the roster, and you know he's going to pull out all the stops to make his Wrestlemania matches memorable. 2. Has anyone been "made" from a Wrestlemania match? If so, whom? Without a doubt, the I Quit match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart MADE Stone Cold's career. This is the match that put him over as the toughest, never quit, never say die wrestler in the company. Becoming one of the first (if not THE first) to break the Sharpshooter helped him tremendously as well. The shot of him powering-out of the Sharpshooter with blood pouring down his face is one of the most memorable Wrestlemania moments of all time. 3. What match do you think of first when you think of a big Mania match? The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania X-SEVEN. I mentioned this in a previous thread, but this is still to this day, the only good thing that Limp Bizkit has ever been a part of. "My Way" was the perfect theme song, not only for the PPV, but the match. This is the match that re-cemented Austin as the best in the WWF at the time. 4. How important is a memorable entrance for a match at Mania? How much does that add to the feel of the match? I cant think of this without remembering Shawn Michael's zipline entrance at Wrestlemania 12. You knew right then that this was his night, and his time to shine. It made me pull for him that much more. As cornball as it may have been (mainly due to the gigantic fake hammer, and oddly-placed bottle of water), I will NEVER forget HHH's "King of Kings" entrance from Wrestlemania 22. He looked like such a badass. 5. Who has had the best Mania entrance that has added to the feel of the match? Shawn Michael's had the best single entrance at Wrestlemania 12, but the best series of entrances will have to go to The Undertaker. Along with the PPV itself, Undertaker's entrance is one of the main things I always look forward to. It never disappoints. -
-What's your favorite Flair match? Damn, that's asking a bit much. He put on some major clinics with the likes of Windham, Steamboat, and Funk in the 80's. In the 90's, he did great stuff with Sting, Vader. Even in the 2000's, he can still do God's work in the ring with the likes of HHH, Orton, and even Undertaker at Wrestlemania X-8. -Is he overrated/underrated relative to his 80s and 90s peers? Flair deserves every accolade he receives. While most of the guys that were around in his time, such as Steamboat, Windham, and Funk have hung up the boots for the most part, Flair is still hanging in there. His offense is mostly limited to chops, knee drops, and the occasional chopblock these days, but he brings a great charisma and storytelling knack to any match he is in. -Do the 21 (16?) world title wins mean anything to you? His last WCW title win doesn't mean a hill of beans to me due to Nash just handing him the title, so he could drop it to Jarrett later in the same show, but the man has a fairly unprecedented resume. -Did he hang on too long? I sometimes fear for his health and well-being when hes in matches, but if he can still go, let him go. There will never be another like Flair.

From WCW Starrcade 2000: Scott Steiner vs Sid Vicious for the WCW World Title. A match that was way better than it had any right to be.
