I honestly can't say I'm sad to see him go. He was one of the most overpushed workers in 2007, and never really brought much to the table. HORRIBLE on the mic doesn't even begin to describe him. I doubt TNA will want much of anything to do with him due to his obvious roid usage, so his next best bet is to possibly try MMA.

Not to mention the crowd was going batshit crazy cheering for Austin while he destroyed The Rock with the chair.

Still waiting for results of Tomko vs Angle. Should've been a decent enough match. -
I never knew it was largely one family. I wonder why they hate gays so much. That demon of a woman is probably secretly gay and hates herself for it. Without even clicking the link, I figured it was going to lead to something involving the Westboro Baptists. Crazy fucks those people are. So Heath is burning in Hell for playing the role of a gay cowboy? I guess him playing the role of a psychotic killer in The Dark Knight wasn't enough to cement his damnation, huh? I think these are the same whack-jobs that protest the funerals of every troop killed in Iraq that they can get hold of.

It's working for Zac Efron! Yea, Vanessa Hudgen's dad is a scary looking son of a bitch. He looks like the old man with the stupid mustache from American Chopper, expect more of a redneck appearance. Truth be told, I'm a pretty big guy and can hold my own, but I'd probably piss my pants if Big Dave said he was going to work me over with a pool cue. -
Gay.

When's the last time they even did Extreme Rules? I'd like to see Colin get the Daniel Puder treatment in the Rumble. I don't know he hae is as an actual wrestler, but damn if his selling isn't near-perfect.
-
How is that even possible? This concerns me as well. I'm known to partake of Tylenol PM fairly regularly as a cheap, quick sleep aid. Maybe I should lay off the stuff? RIP though to Heath.

Tomko vs Angle should be pretty good. Plus why is Mesias wrestling twice on the same show? He beats some no name jobber only to lose to Christian? Way to build your "monsters" TNA. What's the deal with Rellik lately? Was he just there to take up space while Mesias was injured?

Given the "finger gun", perhaps shes a Jeff Hardy fan.

I agree. Roadkill had some insane agility and balance for a man of his stature. I wonder if he and Danny Doring (is he still floating around in developmental hell?) still have their ECW Tag Titles. -

Rumble qualifying matches on house shows exist. Actually, I'm glad they're finally putting emphasis back on house shows since, you know, people actually pay money to attend the events. I still enjoy when they toss in the rare title switch just to keep things interesting. I remember Edge having a short IC reign prior to Summerslam 1998, then losing the belt back to whoever was champion before at the actual PPV. I believe it was Jarrett. Christian beating Booker T for the IC belt at a houseshow in 2003 was interesting as well. -
Agreed... that was pretty entertaining to watch. I remember the group of people I was watching it with were like, "Damn... Maven's about to die." Didn't they do this again in 2003, only for Taker to nosell the Drop Kick and destroy Maven?
-
Why? Just because of what happened? Probably because this was after Benoit had been the World champion, so being the U.S. champ just seemed beneath him at the time. That's how it was for me. Eh, it's happened before. I think HHH had at least 2 IC title reigns after being World Champion.

JR, I've been kissing this man's ass for years. But I don't see you doing it. Are you saying you're better than me? He can't kiss your ass, unless you're wearing his hat!

They're gonna job Big Show out his first night back? They really need to save his return for the Rumble. I would prefer he show up and maul HHH. It would be something different at least. I read that they didn't want to have Big Show return at the Rumble because he would just get eliminated and they didn't want him to just look like some random nobody in there. So hopefully that doesnt translate to "We don't want you to get eliminated from the Rumble your first night back, but we DO want you to put over HHH". *Edit* Picked this up from Rajah That is going to be fucking SICK seeing Undertaker and Kane come out with customized sets and such. I LOVED Kane's custom WMXX entrance that showed a burning NY skyline rather than the usual skyline.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

Kinda of creepy. I'm listening to my usual power metal station on Pandora radio, and they started playing a live version of Benoit's Our Lady Peace theme. It's probably the first time I've heard it since his suicide. Kind of depressing in a way. -
Yea, hence him asking every 2 or 3 minutes if they can just replay Taka face-planting. Still my favorite Rumble elimination.

I thought the original "blue tunnel" Smackdown set looked great and I was bummed to see it get bumped in the Summer of '01 in favor of the "fist and mirrors" set. I did like the visual of Rhyno goring Jericho through the Ovaltron however. I would have rather seen the fist and mirrors set used for RAW, which had been using the same, mostly unaltered set for the better part or 4 years at the time. -
Damn, really? My 11 year old mind at the time was processing that Savage "bounced" off Yoko. I haven't watched it in sometime, so you'll have to forgive me for the oversight. Then again, Savage attempting a pinfall in the Rumble is about as silly as Mr. Perfect giving Hogan the Perfect Plex back in the early 90's. What do you hope to accomplish with an attempted pin in an over-the-top rope match?

I think I brought this up in the Worst Excuse for a Face Turn thread, but I hated how quickly the announcers were to condemn Sting for hitting Hogan with the Bat, but not 6 months earlier, wanted Hogan's head on a pike. I hated how we were just supposed to accept Hogan as a face again because he had an "unscheduled" match on Nitro, didn't have his gear, and Nick just happened to be there with him that night, with his old red and yellow gear in a duffel bag, which Hogan came out wearing. "I don't know what I'm gonna do little dude. I have a match tonight, but I didn't bring my gear". "Hey Dad, why don't you wear the clothes that I brought?" *pulls red and yellow gear out of bag* *Hogan stares at the stuff wildly* "UH, UH......I GOTTA GO!"

I haven't watched 1992's Rumble in YEARS, so I can't really rank it, though it seems to be unanimously considered one of the best ever. As far as one's I've seen though: 1 - 2007 - Undertaker and HBK tearing it up for the final few minutes 2 - 2004 - Benoit dragging Big Show over the top tope by his fucking head 3 - 2002 - Surprise entrants galore 4 - 2001 - Kane doing the ironman run and wrecking everyone 5 - 1997 & 1998 - Austin taking advantage of distracted Referrees in 1997, and getting a clean win in 1998 Honarable mention goes to whatever year the Rumble ended with Macho Man giving Yokozuna the flying elbow, only to bounce off him, over the top rope. The Rumble itself wasn't much to write home about, but that was a fun, silly moment.
-
I agree with you 100%. Undertaker and HBK tore the fucking house down when they were the last 2 guys in. I'd love to see them get about 20+ minutes to work a full match. My favorite Rumble Eliminations are still: Taka Michinoku's face plant in 2000 - Jerry Lawler asking for it to be replayed about 60 times throughout the Rumble brought a laugh from me everytime. "BAH GAWD KEENG HERE COMES THE GOODFATHER! Yea that's nice J.R., but can we see Taka get thrown out again?" and, Paul London's shooting star sell of Snitsky's clothesline in 2005 (or was it 2006?) The worst match is easily HHH vs Scott Steiner. What was going on here? Was Steiner just THAT out of shape, or was HHH not cooperating? I know it seemed like HHH sandbagged him on the doubleunderhook powerbomb attempt, but they were blowing WAY too much stuff in the match. On topic though, my least favorite Rumble is probably still 1999. I just never cared too much for Vince winning, even if it did tie-in well to his feud with Austin.

From what I've read, that was the original ending for Flair's retirement: He'd win Money in the Bank, cash it in that night, lose to the champion, and leave his boots/robe in the ring as a symbol of retirement. Me and the groupd of friends I watched Wrestlemania with last year were expecting Kennedy to run down, and cash in his MITB immediately after Undertaker beat Batista, and maybe schoolboy him for a quick pin. Screwing Undertaker out of his streak would've shot Kennedy (who was still unbelievably over at the time, having just come off a near win over Batista at the Rumble) into the stratosphere. -
Apparently, about $25-30 Million. Cloverfield looks like it's this huge-budget sci-fi movie, but due to the cast being unknowns, they were able to make it for a modest budget. I think more studios should do this. You don't necessarily need a $20 million-a-film actor attached to a project as long as the script is good, and the actors are able to convincingly play their roles. Count me in though on being surprised that the Bucket List isn't a comedy.
