The Iron Man trailer was bad-ass, and I'm not even really into superhero movies. I think using the song Iron Man had alot to do with that though, also I think Robert Downey Jr. is the fucking man. That helps. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, it does. The rapper Ghostface Killah, who has been a long-time fan of Iron Man (he took the names of Iron Man and Tony Starks; he also titled his 1996 album "Ironman" and uses lyrics and images related to Iron Man comics/animated series), makes an appearance in this film as a Dubai tycoon. I enoyed some of Stark's comments regarding those huge missles in the trailer. This isn't an exact quote but it goes something like "I prefer my weapons to be 1 hit, and produce lots of Kills. It's the way God does it, it's the way man's been doing it...........seems to work pretty well". Genius. Really looking forward to this one, despite Tony Stark being the biggest prick in the Marvel universe over the past year or so. In regards to Cloverfield,

I saw this tonight and enjoyed the hell out of it. Everything came across exactly as I hoped it would. Plus, JJ Abrams was right in saying he didn't use a cute monster, rather it was something that was insane. I recommend this to all.

This may be nitpicky, but when was Christopher Daniels "fired" from TNA? Just curious considering he's appearing on the show.

Amy Winehouse walking around with Nugget Sauce FTW!

Holy Shit did WWE ever miss the boat with Zack Gowan. Sympathy pop or not, he was over as fuck. Plus Brock really found his niche as a monster heel beating up the little one-legged kid.

What a farce that show was. You got better information reading the RSPW faq. Conveniently enough, PWGS is posted as Classic Crap on Wrestlecrap this week. Stunt Granny FTW! -
I didn't even know this was going to air until last night when I caught the last few minutes of Impact. TNA management should look at the presentation of Global Impact and try to go with something like this in the future. Just let the wrestlers be themselves. It made TNA come across as a professional company and not some bush league company based out of Orlando. I enjoyed the hell out of Nagata and Angle switching submissions with each other. Nagata going from single armed, to double armed variations of the Crossface, and Angle always finding ways to reverse it into the Ankle Lock made for a great match. Why can't we get THIS Kurt Angle on a weekly basis in TNA?
-
I would say Saturday Night would be the best possibility for seeing a replay. The Angle vs Nagata match kicked fucking ass! One of Angle's best matches in a really long time. I haven't seen Nagata since his days in WCW as a midcarder, so it was good seeing him again.

This is supposedly a video someone took in a theatre of the Cloverfield Monster in .gif form. The footage is kind of dark, but view at your own risk or something: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v62/Ghos...mallslowhu0.gif

I like how quick the announce crew was to jump on Hogan's bandwagon again just because he changed the color of his tights. As you stated, after 3 years of running roughshot over the company, he was quickly accepted as a face again. I remember Sting's "turn" at Fall Brawl 1999, and how quickly the announcers condemned Sting for hitting Hogan with the bat and winning the World Title. Wait a sec, you guys rallied your undying support behind Sting for over a year and a half wanting him to rip Hogan apart, and he hits him with the bat, winning the World title, and you call him an asshole for it?

Orton getting kicked out of Evolution, and being booked as a face. As far as I was concerned with the way the segment was booked, Evolution was turning face by kicking the egotistical World Champion out of their group. This bugged the crap out of me as well. Again, with the booking, I think it made more sense for Snitsky to be the face, since he spared Lita the burden of carrying Kane's rape shild.

Eh, this was either hit or miss when the nWo was at it's peak. "OH MY GOD BRAIN! HE'S WEARING AN NWO T-SHIRT! DON'T TELL ME HE'S JOINED THEM!"

I was at the PPV where Lashley won the ECW title. When RVD handed CM Punk his first pinfall loss, this really seemed to piss-off a lot of the crowd, but we accepted it and moved on. The hate really sinked-in when RVD was pinned by Test. This was followed by LOUD BULLSHIT AND TNA chants. Lashley's lethargic crowd response was due to this. Big Show is legitimately from Aiken, SC, which is about a half-hour's drive from Augusta, GA, so he was the hometown guy for the night. By the time it came down to Lashley and Big Show, 1-on-1 in the EC, we were 100% behind the Big Show. When Lashley was on offense, he was greeted with loud BOO's, or a random "TNA" or "Where's my Refund?!" chant would start. When Big Show would make a comeback, the place would erupt in support. By the time Lashley won with the weak spear of doom, we honestly didn't give a flying fuck. That was the final nail in the coffin of the old ECW. RVD was buried beyond repair, Heyman departed WWE immediately after the show ended, and a man that no one believed should be holding a title representing Extreme Wrestling was it's World Champion.

- Anytime John Cena beats ANYONE with the STFU. He doesn't put a single ounce of effort into the move, other than making all those ridiculous faces, and screaming - Raven tapping-out to Scotty Anton's "Clapper" in ECW. I know Raven was on his way out of ECW at the time, but the Clapper made The Rock's Sharpshooter look like Bret's in comparison. - The already-mentioned Destiny debacle. Raven drilling Jarret with about 3 Evenflows, (1 or 2 of which were on chairs), then his cronies teeing-off on Jarret with their finishers only for Jeff "Dragonslayer" Jarrett to come back and win after one Stroke. At least the crowd showed their approval by pelting the ring with trash and calling Jarrett on the bullshit. - No proper payoff to the HHH/Angle/Stephanie triangle - John Cena retaining the title at Wrestlemania 21 - With the expection of the midget Rumble from RAW this past week, nearly anything involving Hornswaggle - The overpushing of Candice Michelle. I won't argue the fact that shes pretty hot, and not bad for a women's wrestler, but she was schooling other female wrestlers that she had no business beating

Smackdown spoiler Birmingham, AL It was a packed event last night with a good crowd. Everyone waited for the pyro to hit but it never came.....instead it was the Undertaker that came out. He got a huge ovation. He cut a 5 min promo on the Royal Rumble and when he was finished was interupted by Matt Striker and Big Daddy V. Striker asked Undertaker how he was going to win the Royal Rumble when Big Daddy V was in the Rumble. They fought for a minute and big daddy V retreated. Next up was Finley v.s. great Kahli. Good match for the two. A couple of good heavy shots delivered by both. Hornswoggle tried to help and ruin interference but it was no match for Kahli who ended up picking up the win in a clean finish. Winner Great Kahli. Shot of backstage of Finley sitting there with his head down, Vince McMahon came over (which he never was really there, it was pre-taped) and sayed that Finley has another chance next week on Smackdown in Belfast to take out the Great Kahli. Jimmy Yang Wang and Shannon Moore v.s. Deuce and Domino. This was ok...not really a crowd favorite but a few good spots in it. For most of the match, Deuce and Domino used sized and strength to their advantage and controlled most of the match until finally Shannon Moore was able to get the tag to Jimmy Wang Yang and it was a momentum swing from there. Many high risk moves and fast manuevers. Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore Pick up the win. VIP Lounge....MVP came out and talked about how Ric Flair was so great and ran through his credentials....Flair came out to a huge ovation. MVP told Flair that even though he was great, he would never be MVP great. Flair cut a promo and included Birmingham, AL which got a huge pop. Finally Flair chopped MVP over his couch in the ring and walked out looking ahead to the Royal Rumble. Batista v.s. Mark Henry-This was a great match, not so much for the action but from the crowd standpoint. Batista had one of the top pops the entire night. Mark Henry got control of the match about a quarter of the way into the match and they fought outside the ring for a while and after going to the well a few to many times, Batista got control of the match and landed a devestating spinebusters. It had the normal Mark Henry, Batista elements to it but it was a great match because of crowd participation. Batista picks up the win. Michelle McCool v.s. Layla. The match started off fairly slow with not to much crowd participation but about half way through, the crowd went crazy after a few really nice spots in the match and finally Michelle McCool hit a nice Finisher that was really well done. It was a decent match. Main Event- Edge and Chavo v.s. Cm Punk and Mysterio. This was a great match. The crowd was in it from beginning to end. There was a lot of great spots in the match with high flying to the outside of the ring, but also some great wrestling inside the ring. Edge and Chavo has control at first until Cm Punk tagged in Mysterio and the momentum swung rapidly. After a nice hurricaranna on Chavo into the ropes, the crowd finally got the 619 they were waiting on. Before Mysterio could end the match, Edge hit Mysterio with a chair causing a DQ. The major brothers came out and worked on Cm Punk and Mysterio. After the show went off the air, Undertaker and Batista hit the ring to help out Cm Punk and Mysterio and it became a one after another finsher sequence with Mysterio frog splashing Chavo for the finish. Biggest Pops Batista Undertaker Mysterio Flair Most Heat Edge Chavo Khali Mark Henry

Big Show really found his niche doing the Extreme Rules matches during his last run with the company. He always came out looking like a monster, and a dominant champion in those matches. His ER match against Kane from July 2006 is a personal favorite of mine, and one of the best matches of either man's careers. I would like to see him have another run in ECW, but I'm sure he'll probably just end up back on RAW. Concerning his weight loss though, does anyone know what he was weighing during his initial feud with Brock Lesnar in 2002? Watching the DVD of Survivor Series 2002, Show is still a pretty big guy, but he seemed much smaller in the belly area than he had for a while. If Big Show has gotten down to his 1999-early 2000 weight, it will be pretty impressive. He was at least slim enough in 1999 where he could wear the Heavyweight Title around his waist. -
The contestant gimmicks are annoying the hell out of me as well. The "rodeo girl" who insisted on doing her little ho-down after every event was almost as annoying as "Ms. Positivity - Venus" from the first episode.

The guy in the Slave Leia outfit had me rolling. He got out approximately half a second of "Dont Cha" before Simon and Randy made him stop and leave.

I like this one. It falls in line with the "giant mutated whale" thing that was posted a while ago. I like this one as well. This thing definitely has the arms and hands to decapitate the Statue of Liberty and throw the head clear across Manhattan.

^^^ HAHA, Malibu was great. He sounded a hell of a lot like a drugged-up (moreso than usual) Steve-O.

Jake Roberts is going to outlive every major wrestler from the 80's. Jake is damn near immortal.

FWIW, I liked Charismatic Enigma better than Rainbow-Haired Warrior.

Yea but JR is going to give you the full Beth Phoenix schtick every time he's commentating: "Beth Phoenix, who calls herself "The Glamazon", says she's the perfect....combination of strength AND beauty". That gets extremely annoying, especially when he does it more than once in a single Beth phoenix match. Rainbow-Haired Warrior is pretty bad too, but not THAT bad.
