It's alright at first, but if you had the "fortune" of watching or hearing her act once, than you never have to hear it again. At least Gilbert Gottfried is funny in other things, even though he's had the same 2 or 3 sets for the last 20 years. Pretty much what everyone else has said. Her whole act is "I only fuck black guys". If it weren't for that, she really wouldn't have much to work with. She's decent enough at the roasts though. I was pretty disappointed that she wasn't at the Bob Saget roast. I'd say so far, the most disappointing one I have seen, was far and away the Jerry Stiller roast.

YO! TSM raps: John Cena in 2009
haws bah gawd replied to Ed Wood Caulfield's topic in The WWE Folder
Facts are facts, but there's still something in Cena that's just making me not give 2 shits about him. Maybe it's the fact that he has been doing the same thing for the past 5 years, with little to no change, or maybe it's just his look. I really don't know exactly what it is. I hear his music and it's like "great, this guy again". It's the little things, like that goofy salute he always does in his entrance (at least Mysterio knew when it was time to let go of that "flapping his arms like a bird" part of his entrance), even his 5 moves of doom have worn thin with me. Just because the guy has outrageous merchandise sales doesn't mean everyone is obligated to like watching him perform. -
I finally got the chance to watch this last night. I thought Mysterion was going to end up being either Stan or Kenny, but I'll agree it was most likely Clyde. I've enjoyed the new episodes, but I have to admit I kind of miss the old style of South Park with the crappy animation and crazy Mecha-Streisand stuff. At least the giant fire-breathing Mickey Mouse kind of went back to that . When did South Park go from a "quiet, hick mountain town" to a city, anyways? I remember them having just one policeman in Officer Barbrady, and now they have an entire police department. I think it was around Season 7 or 8 that all this happened, but I could be wrong. I also miss Craig randomly flipping people off, but that's a topic for another day. Edit: I nearly choked on my soda when I saw the "Obama - Change" poster with an angry "WHEN?" spray painted under it. Awesome.

I've been wanting to give this a watch, but I haven't yet. I know the original is basically a 45 minute rape scene, with some parental revenge at the end. I assume the new one didn't stray too far from this.

3 Heel Stone Cold Stunners have less power than a single Face Stone Cold Stunner.

Great things from Test: Fucking MURDERING Brock Lesnar with the Big Boot at KotR 2002 Being as large as he was, and doing a Flying Elbow from the top rope. Awesome visual. Especially the Flying Elbow w/ Nightstick that he used to beat Bossman for the Hardcore title. TKO - Why does no one else in WWE adopt this as a finisher? Give it to Kozlov or something! Convincingly faking a leg injury just to screw Scott Steiner in the match for "control" of Stacy Keibler. Lots of fun matches against Shane McMahon.

WWE General Discussion - March 2009

Regardless, I never get tired of seeing RVD sell the RKO with his face. -
Hate to see him go. I wasn't a big fan of him, but for some reason, never turned the channel when he had a match. Least now Jericho can fuck Kelly-Kelly without having to worry about some 6'5 beast looking for him.

The segment with Matt and Jeff Hardy was a chore to sit through. I'm just not feeling this feud yet.
-
The gore looks pretty good. At least it's not absent of the usual horrible horror film one-liners such as "Zombie's packing!", and "ever been shot when it was good?".

Anyone around here watch Hell's Kitchen? I find it to be a great waste of an hour.

Nitro got decent ratings wrestling shows don't generate the ad revenue that equal, or even lesser, rated shows do, because of the negative stigma that wrestling and wrestling fans have. Even in 2001, wasn't Nitro TNTs highest rated show? Ratings really don't matter if you aren't getting ad revenue to match. If a show has low ratings but high ad revenue (see St. Elsewhere), it'll stay on over a show with high ratings but low revenue. Ratings only matter if they correlate with ad revenue. I seem to remember one of the higher-ups at Turner saying something to the effect of "I don't want that redneck shit on my channel". I could be wrong though. From late 2000, until the cancellation of WCW programming, I too will say the quality of the shows was drastically improving. The introduction of the Cruiserweight Tag division definitely helped liven things up.

I didn't even notice until I watched the replay earlier that Mr. Slave was jackin' it, in the crowd at the Jonas Brothers concert. Fucking awesome!

A good friend of mine, and one of the biggest Stone Cold fans I've ever known, named his son, Austin.

I didn't even know the new Season was starting until about 1:30 AM this past Saturday, during a commercial break for Clerks 2. Great season opener, though. Can't wait for next week.

It was actually Mandalay Sports Entertainment which was a division of ME, but this is correct. Isn't it sad that Vince was able to buy WCW less than a year later for only $4m? Someone got some serious money under the table for that whole ordeal... You're comparing apples and oranges. Mandalay would have purchased the entire company, including talent contracts, television rights, the tape library and everything else that goes into running a wrestling promotion. Jamie Kellner killed that whole deal when he canceled WCW programming. Vince just scooped up the intellectual property and cherry-picked the few talents he wanted. He still got a hell of deal, but it's not really a comparable purchase. The tape library alone was more than worth what Vince put into the company. Vince picked-up a small amount of talent to add to his roster, and the rest is history. Vince got the bargain of a lifetime.

AlaskanHero, did you go to the autograph signing at Kmart earlier in the day? -
Heel Characters That You Agreed With?
haws bah gawd replied to Big Green's topic in General Wrestling
Put me down for agreeing 100% with Jericho in regards to his comments against HBK last year. I thought they were trying to turn HBK when that angle began, since Jericho was condemning him for faking injury, and lying to his fans, just to win a match. -
Meeting Sports Entertainers - Autographs, etc.

Here's a recap of the MVP/Maria autograph signing at the local K-Mart this afternoon. The session was supposed to run 3-5, but they didn't show until 3:30. The fact that K-Mart had the air conditioning turned off definitely didn't help things considering there was at least 1000 + people in line. I've always thought of myself as a bit of a geek, but not so much after this experience. You always see the oddest people at these things. I picked up an MVP action figure earlier in the week for him to sign, even though they were signing generic WWE fliers anyways. Now, here is my issue. Do any of you guys take merchandise that doesn't feature or have anything to do with the wrestler doing the autograph, to be signed? An example was a fellow a few steps up from me in line, who brought a BIG SHOW figure for MVP to sign, and a KOFI KINGSTON figure for Maria to sign. A woman a little further up in line brought a Triple H poster. Then, a couple folks behind me were saying "I'm gonna get Maria to sign my fishing license" and his buddy countered that with "I'm gonna get her to sign my hunting license". Only in the south....... Anyways, it took us 2 hours to move through the line. When I was about 5 people away from being at the autograph table, MVP asked the security head to tell the rest of the crowd that they would make time for everyone, and make sure everyone left happy, so don't be in a rush. It was my turn to go the the table, and MVP and Maria were more than gracious and very polite. MVP signed my figure's backing card, and thanked me for coming. My girlfriend came with me, and she was next in line. The next thing I heard was Maria yell out "HI! HOW ARE YOU?!?!?!", talking to my girlfriend. My girlfriend is in a wheelchair, but that's beside the point. Maria then stood up, left the autograph table, and walked up to my girlfriend to talk to her for a few minutes. After I thanked MVP, he saw Maria talking to Denise, and he too stood up, walked up to her, posed for a photo, and thanked both of us for coming. Both were class acts and a joy to interact with for the couple of minutes we chatted with them. Below is the picture of Denise with MVP. -

Modern day scripting of wrestling vs. the old days of doing promos
haws bah gawd replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in The WWE Folder
If things were done the way they are today, in the '80's, I would love to meet the person scripting Ultimate Warrior's promos. I like to think that Mr. Hellwig came up with some of that brilliance on his own. -
and they get pins with moves other than their finisher. In an Iron Man match it makes perfect sense to have more falls, and falls resulting from non-finishers. So long as we're talking 60 minutes, anyway. One of my favourite ones is that if you hit a moonsault, SSP etc onto a guy, you're completely fine. If you hit the mat instead, you're in agony. Has anyone other than RVD ever bothered to sell that leaping onto another person is going to hurt you if it hurts them? A similar complaint would be someone acting like death was upon them if they miss a Dropkick. I try to explain it to myself as "when you hit the dropkick, you use your opponent as a bit of a kickpad to make sure you land properly", but it's still silly to think of. How about Hogan acting as though he's been shot in the lower back/ass if he misses the legdrop? He lands the exact same way, either way.

Lil Wayne is releasing a rock album
haws bah gawd replied to PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH!'s topic in Music
The music itself is OK, the rest is horrid. -
I'm certain that isn't Luger in the picture. From what I remember, Ron Simmons went on to win that battle royal, then Super-Heel Lex Luger ran out and beat him down with the trophy he had won for winning the thing.
