    Working the Net

Well, the rumor around WMXX was that HHH would retain, so that he could drop the title to "Roots Genoa" in his hometown at Backlash the next month. I was pleasantly surprised to see Genoa pull off the clean tap-out in the middle of the ring. Does that count?
  2. I know this isn't the thread for this, but I felt a response was warranted. Cena does seem like an all-around good guy, but I think we can all agree that we just want something different. They can only ride this whole "overcoming the odds" thing with Cena for so long. Looks like the recent dip in ratings is an indication that a lot of people are getting tired of the same old act. Maybe the answer isn't putting the title on Orton, but WWE does need to try something different. On topic though, since Teddy Hart has apparently been on his best behavior since reporting to OVW, contrary to internet rumors, a humbling may not be necessary. Someone just needs to hammer it home with him that just because of who he's related to, he doesn't get the world handed to him. I elect Triple H...maybe not. I wouldn't be surprised to see Teddy Hart have a short stay with WWE once he is called up. He's the type of personality that won't set back and take the "initiation" crap that older guys like to pull on the younger guys. The first time J.B.L. tries to step in the shower with him, Hart will likely do a moonsault and walk out of WWE. You sir, are the fucking man. That made me spit out my soda.

Who Wants to be a Superhero?

Read my previous complaint in regards to Major Victory being kicked-off last season for being funny. Stan Lee will make up any excuse to get rid of a cast member that he isn't fond of, no matter how much of a hypocrite it makes him out to be. I know I can't wait for the sci-fi channel original movie about Feedback. *groan*

    Orange Coke

I was pretty thrilled for this as well. Oddly enough, even though it was discontinued around 2003/4 (?), a local Chik-Fil-A had it on tap the entire time. They must've had a large backstock of the syrup. I would do a fucking dance if Pepsi Twist were to return. It was OK on its own, but perfectly complemented a plate of Chinese food. Also, I wish Pepsi Vanilla was more readily-available around here. I occasionally find it in 12 packs at Wal-Mart, but nowhere else.
  6. I pulled this from rajah.com I guess you can take that for what it's worth. Hopefully he's taking this opportunity a little more seriously this time. If not, we can always open a thread to discuss who out of Teddy Hart, Jeff Hardy, and Randy Orton is the biggest fuck-up of all time.

Favorite Crowd Reactions to Face/Heel Turns?

Austin's heel turn comes to mind there then. I know it's been a while since I've watched Wrestlemania X-7, but I seem to remember the crowd being 100% behind Austin while he beat the holy Hell out of The Rock with "that McMahon-endorsed Steel Chair". I don't remember complete silence at all.

    Smackdown Spoilers...

I believe Roots Genoa is the fellow you're trying to think of.

Jeff Hardy suspended for 30 days

Agreed 100% in regards to Orton. How many times has WWE been ready to give him the world, only for him to fuck it up? As one poster mentioned earlier, Jeff has always been WWE's Shawn Michaels to Matt's "Marty Jannety". One has to wonder what kind of a big push WWE had in mind for Jeff. I for one, wouldn't mind seeing him get a short "thank you" World Championship run like Benoit and Guerrero received, just for the Hell his body has gone through over the past 8+ years. I guess we'll never know. Still, you can't argue against him being one of the most popular wrestlers in the company, and its not just with "fat goth chicks". Hope he's able to work through his issues and come back clean.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007

Out of Action, yea I'd say so.

Wrestlers You Like as Wrestlers But Dislike as People?

Like as a person, but HATE in the ring: Mark Henry - Seems like a genuinely nice guy John Cena - The current king of charity work Buff Bagwell - My girlfriend and I talked to Buff following an indy show earlier this year, and contrary to what you always hear, he's nothing but class. Seems 5 years wrestling the indies has done well to humble him. Rick Steiner - Same situation as Buff. We met him at the same indy show. Stevie Ray - another genuinely nice guy. Talked to him for a little while after a Nitro taping back in 2000. Enjoy/Enjoyed to watch perform, but wouldn't piss on them if they were burning alive: Chris Benoit - 'nuff said Batista - Stayed with his most recent wife just long enough for her to beat cancer, so not to look like a COMPLETE dick Hulk Hogan - Biggest Ego in History Bret Hart - was watchable (sorry, but I was never a big fan of him), but the little bitch needs to get over the Montreal thing. Steve Austin - I have no respect for the guy. I'll add more later if I can think of any.

    OAO Raw Thread - July 30, 2007

It couldn't be possible that maybe people are getting tired of seeing Cena as champ every week. Oh fucker no. Couldn't be.

What was your first Exposure to Wrestling

My uncle took me and my cousin to a WWF house show in the early 90's headlined by Ultimate Warrior vs Mr. Perfect. I don't remember much of the show, because I may have only been 9 or 10 at the time. I vaguely remember The Rockers vs The Oriental Express and Tugboat wrestling someone. My biggest memory is the place going batshit crazy when The Warrior's music hit.

    Smackdown Spoilers...

Looks like he stole HHH's "manstache" as well.
  15. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, that phrase is so annoying. Heh, sorry about that. I could go with something cheesier like "the sky is the limit" if you want?

    OAO Raw Thread - July 30, 2007

I actually find it rather funny how WWE has finally managed to make me WANT Orton to win a match. Wasn't there a rumor going around about a month ago that HHH had personally requested Orton win the title at Summerslam, and remain untouchable until his return? All is coming to pass, so far.
  17. I said it in the other thread regarding Teddy Hart, but if he can get his attitude under control, his potential is nearly unlimited. I'm hoping someone in OVW is able to humble him. I don't know anything about Davey Boy's son other than hes supposedly strong as an ox and a pretty good wrestler. So, I guess it's a waiting game between those two.

    Sting

Yea, WCW tried to turn that into a heel turn for Sting that lasted about a month. I remember thinking wow, the commentators would've been cheering Sting on for the attack not too long ago, but now Sting is a bad guy for it. At least the crowd cheered him on.

    ECW 7.31.07

To be honest, the constant Burke vs Punk matches have been what's turned me off from ECW. Is there any word on when we can expect Cor Von back?

That match was fantastic. Didn't know Dreamer could still go like that.

Jeff Hardy suspended for 30 days

I'm just glad to hear he hasn't been fired. Jeff is one of my favorite wrestlers to watch these days, and I hope he can heal up soon. It's probably safe to say that we've seen the end of the Whisper in the Wind though.

Jeff Hardy suspended for 30 days

Son of a bitch dammit that sucks. Jeff has been on his A-Game ever since he returned last year, and has looked like a million bucks in the ring ever since. I hope he's able to work through whatever is going on with him, and come back.

    The 25 Worst Remakes Made

I enjoyed the Lady killers. The movie had its share of fun lines. "He brung.......his BITCH.........to the muthafuckin' Waffle Hut". I didn't know Down to Earth was a remake, but what an abortion of a movie it was, and Cage was just "phoning it in" in the Wicker Man remake. What a load of crap.

What are you listening to right now?

Kamelot - "One Cold Winter's Night", live album.
  25. So, anyone think this will lead to a repeat of the events of the early 90's? WWE starts pushing the smaller wrestlers (i.e. Bret Hart's push) to show that "you dont have to be on 'roids to get ahead in the company", to get congress off it's back?
