I'm on now too. As if anyone gives a rats ass about South Carolina.

I'll give that much to Heyman. There is probably no one better at discovering a wrestler's strong points, then building on those, while doing an EXCELLENT job of hiding their shortcomings, and making them into credible stars. He did it for WCW and WWF jobbers in Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn. In 2002, The Big Show was nothing more than a jobber on Heat, even losing cleanly to Matt and Jeff Hardy on seperate occasions. Then when Heyman got behind him, within 1 month he was shipped to Smackdown and in the World Title picture. He then ended the title reign and undefeated streak of one of the most dominating monsters the WWF had ever seen, Brock Lesnar, and looked convincing in doing so. I'm looking forward to seeing what Heyman can do with a new generation of future stars and underused talent.

Didn't JBL cut this exact same promo on Eddie Guerrero two years ago? Yep, sounds pretty much the same to me.

Another reference to the Reformation of DX

I just got to the building, but my nose got here 2 hours ago! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! -
Thanks for posting all that info. Oddly enough, one of the things that brought the biggest smile to my face while reading that was Paul Heyman wanting to bring in Kevin Fertig to ECW. I LOVED Fertig as Mordecai back in 2004, and I would kill to see him back, especially if he was motivated by Paul Heyman to get over some of his supposed stage fright. I hope he makes good on his second chance if he is offered one. I'm sure Championships won't be involved until ECW goes off on it's own, but I would love to see WWE steal Rhyno away from TNA and have him back to "reclaim" his throne as the ECW World Champion (since he was the last) to finally put over new Champion RVD. I haven't agreed with many of the things that Vince McMahon has been doing as of late, but since he is gung-ho on making the new ECW suceed, I am all for it. I just hope he will eventually decide to allow the ECW guys to work the true balls-out full-speed-ahead ECW style instead of the watered-down Attitude era hardcore match style that I have heard will be required of them.

Batista was far and away a better champion. The fans NEVER turned on the guy like they did for Cena. I think it was mainly because even though Batista won his matches, he would show some sort of weakness, but not to the point of looking like Rey Mysterio has lately. He would still get the decisive win, and when the bell rang, you KNEW the right man won. In nearly every match Cena is in, he will make a miracle Superman comeback, and I think even the marks finally saw through this and started to turn on the guy. It starts to feel like a cop-out when Cena is out there making guys like Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle look like bitches night-in and night-out and never showing much signs of weakness. He could be put in the Walls of Jericho or the Ankle Lock for a full 2 or 3 minutes and still make it to the ropes, but when he slaps on the STFU (despite never working any of the pressure areas during the match) hes going to get a tap-out in less than 10 seconds. Plus, the "Right Here" video which exposed Cena as a spoiled rich white kid and not this tough thug from the streets that he tries to pass himself off as, didn't do much for him either.

So, would you guys agree with me that Rey has had the worst-booked title reign since Jericho? Who has Rey beaten since becoming champ? I know he beat Orton on the first Smackdown after Wrestlemania, but I can't think of a single other match of his that hasn't ended in a non-clean win, or him being made to look like a total bitch. Rey should be booked in a way that leads fans to know he won't stop fighting until he wins or just can't go anymore, but still comes out looking strong. This is NOT how you book your WORLD Champion. If Rey were the Cruiserweight Champion and for some reason going up against Khali, I could understand him being buried to such an extent. Afterall, NO ONE (since Yokozuna, Diesel, Kane, Giant Gonzales, Mark Henry , or the 10,000 other guys that have kicked his ass) has ever destroyed the Undertaker like Khali, and you want to keep the guy looking like a beast. But still, the World Champion should never be made out to look like a jobber like Rey has. If Rey goes on to retain against JBL at Judgement Day, it's going to make JBL loose a LOT of credibility. WWE wants us to forget the 2 minute squash of JBL by the Boogeyman at the Rumble, but after the way Rey has been destroyed lately, if JBL loses, its going to make him look like a joke.

So is that why Nintendo felt is necessary to delay the release of the Gamecube Zelda? So that it could have the production of the Wii version well underway and they can both be released around the same time? Fuck that.

Damn, I thought I was the only person that liked this song. Nice work.

1 problem, Rey Mysterio. Also, what's with all the re-signings all of a sudden? It's not like they ever did anything with Akio in the first place, they dropped Haas because they had 'no plans for him'...they fired Hardy for a reason, which I guess has been forgotten if they're trying to re-sign him. You have to give it to Haas though. He has been tearing it up in the ring since he came back.

Id like to see someone jump off a ladder onto a trampoline and do a flying chairshot. That would be Shelton. Do any of the SS besides Kenny have an actual finisher? The High Spirits doesn't count since it involves all 5 of them. Johnny has the Johnny-Go-Round. Otherwise no. Apparently Nicky or Mickey, whoever it was, will be using the Swanton Bomb since that seemed to be his big highspot last night.

I just got finished watching the First Demonstration video for Smackdown vs Raw 2007. THQ is going to have to do some serious work on this game if they want my dollar this year. The character models are much improved over last year, but its not a really big factor in making me decide to buy this. The crowd fighting looks like it would get extremely old after a while. Why is it that on a next gen system, a wrestler still phases through the body of another when putting him through a table after jumping off of something? I also find it laughable that they still have the same running back grapple German Suplex animation for the 4th or 5th year in a row, and the strikes still look exactly the same. It seems like every year they keep the move animations the same and just add new ones without taking into account how silly some of the older animations now look. Afterall, do we really need 30-35 clotheslines, 20+ powerbombs and 20-25 different DDT's? I swear if the stiff-as-a-board falling animation or the slump to your knees and fall on your face animations are still in this game, I'll scream.

One can only hope so. He and Roadkill perfectly complemented eachother in the ring in spite of being so different.

Nothing like a 15+ year old picture of Demolition to advertise an ECW show.

I'm not all for "pretty boy" wrestlers, it just find it hard to watch a match when it involves a guy that looks like a reject from American Grizzly magazine.

Fanmade Sting Tribute Video This is one of the best Sting tributes I have ever seen. FYI, the background music at the beginning is "The Kiss of Judas" by Stratovarius. I'm not 100% sure of the other song used.

Better Angle: NWO or Austin/McMahan
haws bah gawd replied to slabinskia's topic in General Wrestling
Even though the Austin vs McMahon feud was basically the deciding factor in the Monday-Night Wars, I enjoyed the nWo angle more. I loved it when they were treated as though they were actually invading the company. WCW even went as far as to have security standing between the nWo and the WCW Wrestlers, guns-drawn, when the nWo tried to rush the ring one night. It made the angle seem so much more real and important. Heel, face, it didn't matter what your disposition was. The nWo would attack either just to make a point. So, if you were part of WCW, again regardless of your disposition, you were allies against a common foe in the nWo. Sting's recluse angle also helped add to the nWo storyline. He was betrayed by WCW and only came back to fight for them when there was no hope left, and the nWo had won. Who could forget Uncensored 1997? The nWo had won the big 12-man, 3-team match at the end of the show, and thus basically gained control of WCW and the right to challenge for any title at any time. It was then that Sting took action and dropped from the ceiling then proceeded to destroy the nWo, letting them know their time in control was coming to an end. Sure WCW botched the dark-Sting angle a couple times with the multiple fake Stings attacking WCW wrestlers. They even went as far as to have the 7-foot-tall KEVIN NASH attack Lex Luger and the Giant(?) at Bash at the Beach while Shiavonne tried for the life of him to put-over that it was actually Sting. As much as I respect Hulk Hogan for his many contributions to wrestling, I give him a big FUCK YOU for not putting Sting over clean at Starrcade 1997. It was mainly Sting's one-man rebellion against the nWo that drew me so much into the angle, and made it more entertaining to me than the Austin-McMahon feud. -
The main thing that took away from A-Train was that he looked disgusting. The trunks that we wore were particularly disturbing. He was a big tall guy with this massive belly hanging over his waistband, complete with his rather massive man-boobs being pierced , and an extremely hairy body. I just didn't want to see the guy in the ring unless he was covered-up a little better like he was when he teamed with Test and Scotty.

Now that YouTube has re-programmed the site so that VDownloader (which ripped videos to mpg or avi format)no longer works, is there an alternative program you can use that doesn't save the videos in flv format?

2nite in this very ring you are going to have a match with HBK and Cena in a loser leaves Raw match. If we be so lucky. Send Cena back to Smackdown since I never catch the show anyway.

Prowrestling.com is reporting that Joel Gertner has signed-on part time for the new ECW. Also, WWE is looking to get Chris Chetti and Mikey Whipwreck on board.

I'll ask again since it was never addressed. Does anyone know if the website will be doing a presale anytime before Saturday?
