I'm on the fence about buying NHL 08 since it's the first one in ages to receive great reviews. Anyone played the PS2 version ? I don't want to fall into the "all the efforts went into the next-gen game" trap.

The "Vent about not having Program X on 24/7" Thread

WWE finally sent me a reply to my BBB complaint from last month. Seems like us poor Cogeco (Canadians ?) subscribers are out of luck due to unnamed restrictions. Well that sucks. I guess as long as I still have the MNW on time, I have a reason to keep the channel. Was One Night Only '97 from last month the full show or the video version that was edited ?
  3. There is a rumor floating around that Will Smith would be the producer for a Karate Kid remake, with Smith's son as Daniel Larusso and Jackie Chan as Mr. Miyagi. Now that's just criminal.

    Prison Break

What's happenning with C-Note ? Maybe it's because I don't remember it from Season 2, but last time we've seen him, his wife was getting arrested and he still was on the run with his daughter. Did I miss something or he's a forgetten character ?

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)

As I've read some other place : All the things that went down in 2007 for WWE : Benoit, the steroid scandal, the suspensions, injuries and congress hearings....that's just part of the build-up for McMahon-God II.

It's now been a month since I've filed a complaint to the BBB, is it supposed to take this long or my complaint has been put on thr shelf along with others ?

    WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - September 2007

I've read somewhere that the first true Russo show was the one where Austin attacks Bret in the ambulance. I could be wrong though.

Psychosis was dropped right on his head on that hurricanrana (or hurrucurana [/Joey Styles] )but Norton's powerbomb on Chavo was nastier. Speaking of Nitro, the fan who threw the beer at Scott Hall must have been the same guy who threw Austin's beers in the Attitude era. He completely nailed him.

    Prison Break

So far so good, Mahone still kicks ass. Three thoughts so far : Bellick really looks miserable, I hope T-Bag has something up his sleeve because he got accepted by the inmates leader way too easily. Finally, I hope Linc doesn't go all Veronica this season with the stuff happening outside the prison. With the return of PB and Heroes next week, Monday will be back as "TV night".

    WWE announces 2007 DVDs

According to the Observer, there's a DVD coming out named "Undertaker : 15-0". I guess that a DVD of the streak would sell, even if there would be some stinkers on the disc. Does that mean that Edge defeats Taker at Wrestlemania this year ?! Folks, we're out of t-

    Obsession with celebrities

Someone sent me this link showing an emo wailing at Britney Spears haters following the MTV VMA. Normally I would go on how can a guy would want to look like that on his own will, but I won't since that is not the subject. However, this guy of questionable fashion is looking like an idiot defending Britney Spears since, apparently, people have done nothing but bashing her for the last week. Why do people are so obsessionned with celebrities ? I couldn't care less about Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton or any other Hollywood coked-up dumb cunt. Magazines pay millions for pictures of the baby of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, why would people want to see their kid ? Why do people buy these kind of magazines ? Are their lives so dull they have to do voyeurism on other peoples lives ? I'm not saying you can't be a fan of someone. You can even be a hardcore fan like the guy in the video and there would be nothing wrong with that, it's your life. Maybe it's just me who doesn't buy into this whole jet-set thing. You know all those stupid list shows on VH1 like "101 biggest celebrity oops" or shows in which they criticize what X celebrity wore during X movie premiere/awards celebration, who watch this shit ? What's the point ? When somebody screws-up, Why should everyone in the community collectively point their finger and "Ha-ha!" them ? As far as I'm concerned, they're just doing their jobs and nothing else. I couldn't care less about these people even if their shit was green or whatever special trait they would have. I just don't understand why would people waste their time and money on them. Anybody else feels like this or I'm passing for a daggum hippee who prones non-materialism ?

    Obsession with celebrities

Being compared to an emo...ouch. I don't watch ET or any entertainment shows and don't look out for any Hollywood gossip. The reason I posted this is because the Britney performance is all they talk about on the radio at my job this week.

    Ric Flair quits WWE

Using Bobby Heenan just couldn't work today. "The Brain" never was a face character and no one would boo a sixty-years old cancer survivor. I'm sure the Flair retirement storyline would have been great but, even if Flair recently quitted, that doesn't mean it won't ever happen. Flair will be back to WWE one day or another. He won't go to TNA where his big angle would be being Kurt Angle's bitch. I'm all for Flair regaining one last shot at the gold, Rocky Balboa-style, but it needs to be his final match.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

All that Final Fantasy VI makes me want to play it all over again. I feel the same as luke-o. Goldeneye was the greatest console FPS of its time but if you would play it today, you probably wouldn't get the same "feeling" as you would had in 1997. I remember a few months back when I hooked up with some friends playing old Nintendo 64 muiti-players favorites like No Mercy, Mario Kart and Goldeneye. I think that NM and MK still hold up today, Goldeneye....not so much. I found the levels to be too small, you can't see nothing on a quarter of a tv screen and the graphics are blurry as hell (which is weird since I'm in no way a graphic whore, but man I thought I needed glasses). I was disappointed because, as kids, we played 4-players Goldeneye almost every weekends and it was a guarantee that a fight would break out because someone would bitch and complain about cheating and being an unfair player. It was the same game I had a blast with when I was younger. Still, I felt disappointed when I played it 10 years later. The game served as a model on what a console FPS should be and pretty much every shooter that came out since had patterned themselves on it. So while having missions objectives, headshots, being able to play using stealth instead of gunning down cannon fodder with a chaingun were innovative stuff 10 years ago, it's now a thing being taken for granted in every shooter. What was trendsetting at the time is now a standard. I agree that sometimes, nostalgia can embellish the memories that you have from certain things, making them better than they actually were. However, that doesn't mean that every old games that were good then sucks nowadays. Hell, I have more fun playing 8-bits to 64-bits era games than I do playing ones from 2001-to-present.

    WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - September 2007

Everything from this update arrived on time, no One Night Stand or Roundtable (is there one this month ? Not that it would matter since I never get them anyway). No reply yet from WWE or the BBB. Maybe I'll send a complaint again to Cogeco. I don't usually watch the Hall of Fame program, and if I do, there's a lot or fast-fowarding. This month's program for the Iron Sheik was surprisingly good. It was the first time I saw Sheik-Backlund in full (instead of the same clip of Skaaland throwing the towel), the match with Slaughter was bloody as hell and Sheik acceptance speech is the greatest thing ever. The only things missing was the Brian Blair "Suplex him, put him in the camel clutch, break his back, then fuck his ass" clip, his promo calling Mean Gene an "Intelligent Jew businessman" and highlights of his last passage on Howard Stern. Edit : I cannot wait to listen to this in full. It's only been 15 minutes and he's sucking wind yelling at Hogan. Him arguing with "Iron Sheik Jr." is nearly making me piss my pants.

    WWE announces 2007 DVDs

I just bought Backlash 2007 and The Ladder Match DVD because, apparently, WWE won't ship any more copies of those because of *cough cough* appearing on them. Of course, this is only rumors ('cause you know, everything said or written on the internet is 100% true). I think, at the worst, it will be like the Summerslam 2004 DVD, where the Benoit match isn't listed but appears on the disc anyway.

    Ric Flair quits WWE

I'll wait till the "We wish Ric Flair the best in his future endeavors" is posted on WWE.com to believe it. Even if Meltzer said "Flair knows where things stand at this moment. ", I don't see Flair permently leaving WWE when he (allegedly) needs the cash since he had serious tax problems, knows that he will get a legendary send-off when he hangs his boots for good and he will be forever a part of WWE Sainthood. He'll be back for sure. Maybe not as a full-time wrestler (a role he should never had for his entire WWE run) but as a manager or a behind-the-scenes job.
  21. I rented yesterday "Joyeux Noel" (Merry Christmas), a WWI film in which French, Scottish and German troops have a truce on Christmas Eve. Apparently, it was nominated at the 2005 Cannes Festival but I guess it flew under the radar over here because I don't recall it having a theater release. It was a great film, a change of pace from the usual war flick. Subtitles haters won't want to see it though because when the French or Germans are amongst themselves, they (surprise surprise) speak their language, not english.

    WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - September 2007

I also just finished filing a complaint. Since we both have Cogeco, we'll see how fast they rectify this situation. I asked for the return of the 2007 PPV and events, the original programming and the PYBO. I'm paying them 10 bucks a month and I want the product I expect to get at that price. I'm not worried about them getting my name, it's not like my complaint is a big deal to them ( although I swear I'll order every PPV forever if Vince would somehow personnally make fun of me on various backstage segments on Raw) Dammit, I should've have filed this under "Employment Practices" since I was injustly part of massive layoff a year and a half ago, along with millions of viewers On another note, how is the 2007 Hall of Fame ? It's the Fanatic Series PPV of the month and, since Cogeco didn't showed it last month and I don't want to double dip $40 for the WM 3-DVD case, I might order it.

You have every right to file a complaint to the BBB. You surely have sent several emails to WWE and they never replied,so it's not like you haven't done anything to try to solve the problem. Wasn't there a member who a month or two ago filed a complaint to the BBB concerning 24/7 and had the problem fixed shortly after ?

    WWE suspends 10 wrestlers

Wow. If the WWE is serious about reenforcing their Wellness Policy and does suspends all of those wrestlers for a month without paying them and putting them on TV, Raw is going to look weird because you got 4 active upper-card wrestlers that just got written off the majors storylines. Look for HHH vs Cena very soon or the return of fat fucks in the main-event. If, however, the people who get suspended are either low-carders or on the injury list, I can't wait to see all the backlash that will go against them. Who would have ever thought that 2007 would be such a shitty year for WWE ?
