WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA... Marvel vs Capcom 2 doesn't have good gameplay? That game has been played for years because people continue to enjoy the insane gameplay and discover new and more interesting ways to play it. As for the popularity of the game, it may well be the most popular 2D fighting game in Street Fighter history outside of World Warrior. The past two Evolution tournaments drew 400 and just under 300 players in 2003 and 2004 respectively for MvC2, destroying attendance for any other tournament. As for CFJ; I'm like many hardcore SF players who really don't give a fuck about the sprites of the game. If it plays well, that's all that matters. The community needs something new to play with, break down and rebuild again at a high level and one can only hope CFJ will be that game.

I played it last night with three buddies and none of us were impressed. Characters take far too much damage and it leaves you in a state where you're always going for your health packs. We passed a couple of boards and said "fuck this sucks" and switched to Def Jam Vendetta.

You need to get on the ball and download the torrent instead of waiting a week for CITYTV to play catch up. The hell if I'm going to wait around and avoid threads all over the net when I can spend the big hour to download a 400mb file. I could use a refresher on the Season Finale last year. I haven't seen much but what I can tell you is that HEAT vs Kanemoto 2/29 is a pile of garbage and has no place even being considered for MOTYC. I haven't seen such horrible no selling crap in ages and was truly under the impression Kanemoto had grown past that kind of behaviour. I hear the re-match was very good; when I get my hands on it I'll drop a line in here again.

I'm inclined to agree with this statement. Considering the Angel and Buffy Universe is the same, it doesn't make sense to have all these major players sitting in LA while Buffy fought a God and then literally prevented the end of the world when they had to go into the Hell Mouth with every single potential they could find and shut it down. If these major players had all these plans in motion for so many years, these Buffy events would be seen as something fucking with their plans and wouldn't have been tolerated. While I'm intrigued by the idea behind this Black Thorne, I don't think it was laid out well enough (with proper reasoning). They've been given to big a role and history for the build they've gotten, not to mention how much their intentions conflict with so many issues both in previous stories in Angel and with events in Buffy. Bottom line; the writers saw they wouldn't get another season and had to throw everything into the pot for a big blow off before it was too late.

It's a shame that no one would want to come to what will certainly be a huge event. I'm entering CvS2, ST and GGXX Singles tournaments along with CvS2 Team Tournament. Jer; I don't think I'll be going to NEC5. The NEC tournaments are usually held in the latter part of the year and I hate dealing with shitty weather conditions for such a long trip (that essentially ruined NEC4).
