Comments which don't warrant a thread.
Cheech Tremendous replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
The addition of Amy Winehouse to both Milky and Czech's avatars is really bothering me. Sometime I scroll through posts very quickly and only make a mental connection between picture and post. Having similar avatars confuses my thought process. I have a similar problem with Mecca and Enignma who are, as far as I'm concerned, the exact same poster. -
It's true. Nobody saw it coming. Even the Packers fans that I surveyed only said anywhere from 6 to 9 wins. They deserve a lot of credit for this season. I went back and checked the offseason thread. A few posters picked them to make the playoffs, including myself. I even cited them as a team I really liked that no one was talking about, but that was mostly because I believed in their good defense and strong receiving corps. That being said, I didn't see an NFC championship appearance in their future.

TSM Poster Tournament 2008: The Round of 16

How tall are you Czech? I have a 34 - 36 inch waist and I'm not in the least bit fat. -
No, you shave with the grain. Well, sort of. Basically, a good shave is as much about the preparation of the face as the actual act itself. I'd be willing to bet that many of the complaints rendered in this thread could be alleviated with good practice. Basically, you should always start with a long, hot shower. At this point, you could also use a pre-shave lotion if you think it's necessary (it's probably not). Lather up with a good gel and shave with the grain. Then, if your face can handle it, shave once more, but this time against the grain. Finish with an after-shave lotion. I know this sounds like a lot to do, but your face will look and feel much better.

Well, thank god that's settled. You have to love the self-aggrandizing nature of the post. It's almost as if he believes that he has broken a major news story.

Totally unnecessary bump, but it's...

Austin won't wrestle Hogan? It's the scoop of a lifetime! "Hi, Mr. Austin, this is Douchebag from the forums at TheSmartMarks.com. I have a question regarding a potential Wrestlemania match with Hulk Hogan..."

TSM Poster Tournament 2008: The Round of 16

I'm leaving comments out of this one. I could make an argument for either guy on all of these matchups. In the end, I just went with gut reaction, and when applicable, gave weight to those who contribute in the Sports Folder. Milky over Agent Venkman over KKK KKC over King Slayer over Treble Kinetic over Czech VX over El Dandy Edwin over BL Al over Smues -

Wait another five hours. -
Chargers v. Pats? I guess it's better than seeing the Colts again, but I'm not interested in either team. New England will give us a better Super Bowl, so I guess I'm pulling for them.

What a fucking game! I'll admit I thought it was dumb when they fired Marty. I thought it was beyond idiotic when they replaced him with Norv F'n Turner and I laughed my ass off when started 1-3. But I was wrong. AJ Smith is totally vindicated here because there is no way a Marty-coached team would have won that game. None. Truly great to see Peyton choking in the playoffs again. All is right in the world.

Is this the most egregious mangling of English grammar in the history of TSM?

Maybe I misinterpreted the ending of Spiderman 3, but I never got the impression that Venom was "dead." I don't think the final 15 minutes were the end of the character as a villain. I thought it was an introduction to Venom for an eventual 4th film.

This is already getting tough. I like most of the posters that are still left in this thing. Irritable Bowel Syndrome Milky (I enjoy MiB's contributions to the board, but Milky has really been a tour de force in the past year) Ripper (Agent's a great poster, but I enjoy the tangled arguments that Ripper always presents just so that he can go against the grain) Venkman (As I said last round, Venk really was a breakthrough poster for me last year. Always enjoy his stuff) KKK (It's close but the pic of Mumia > the pic of Matt) Rock KKC (Kamala's one of my favorite posters and he listened to my suggestions regarding his name/avatar) King (KOAB's funny sometimes and awful at others. Good guy, but I prefer King's contributions in Sports) Slayer (I've never dealt with Carnival much. Slayer slays me) Treble (Close call to Treble because he graciously added Tremedous to my name) Culture Beat Czech (Alf's a good basketball poster, but Czech really permeates the entire board with his, um, wisdom) Kinetic (Kinetic's my darkhorse to go all the way) Vitamin X (Both are good, but Vitamin X lives in Portland and drinks IPA. I can't go against that) El Dandy (I don't think Barron likes me much and EHME is just dandy) Take a Powder Black Lushus (Just a coin flip call. I like both) Edwin (I hate to call another a coin flip, but they both contribute and I don't know either well enough to make a strong distinction) Cheech (The student becomes the teacher in '08) Smues (For contributions in Sports and his NW pride) -
No, they are both horrible runners and that's mostly a by-product of the bad offensive line. I still think Hasselbeck's a top 5 QB and the receivers are more than adequate, but he's forced to do too much because no respects the running game. Resigning Alexander after '05 was a necessity because of his MVP season and the Super Bowl run, but I think we all knew this would be the reality in the future. The defense has holes, but is more than adequate. In my mind, you have to keep Holmgren and Hasselbeck. It's the rest of the team that has to be rebuilt.

Good start, Green Bay. Now watch the gunslinger throw three picks trying to get his team back in it.

Every time someone wrote IBS, this is what I thought. That's why I wrote that in my very first post last round. I was hoping someone would notice. -
Cheech is dumb. It's the equivalent of .72 grams of alcohol per 100 grams of blood. I'm not sure what type of fuzzy math I was doing earlier.

How the hell did I end up matched up against Al? I'm only the alternate to his maven. It'd be like voting Coverdale-Page over Led Zeppelin in a Best Bands tournament. Well, except for the fact that Coverdale-Page would never be in a best anything.
