Wow, old news, considering the Vikes and Rams have done it too. (Not a Colts fan, BTW) I remember hearing about the Colts piping in noise years ago. It's not a big deal.

HEY... it wasn't me.

Then those scouts are wrong.

Tracy Ringolsby, a fairly credible baseball writer, says that Tim Lincecum can be had for an impact bat: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7400932...2&page_no=2 I can't see any scenario where this is possibly true. Lincecum is a future Cy contender with 6 years left until free agency. He has a somewhat violent delivery, but I can't see anyone, even someone as stupid as Brian Sabean, willing to part with this guy.

Well Known Wrestlers Without Well Known Matches?
Cheech Tremendous replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
There was a long-standing rumor (courtery of a certain useless moron) that Butch Reed was the original choice to beat Steamboat for the belt. As the story goes, he no showed the event and Hulk suggested to Vince that they use Honky instead and the rest is history. It's a bullshit story, though. -
I have Sheik Yerbouti. I love it. I've sampled a bunch of the other stuff via the net, but haven't made the second purchase. For whatever reason, I am extra cautious about delving into a catalogue so vast.

Following in his father's footsteps. You'd think that after your dad died in his 40s from abusing steroids you might be a little apprehensive about abusing the stuff yourself.

Ha. I love this new testing policy.

Well Known Wrestlers Without Well Known Matches?

Hasn't the whole Butch Reed thing been debunked on many occassions? That was a story that Honky and Hulk came up with to make themselves sound smart. Vince had planned to make Honky the I-C champ from the time he turned heel. As for having his character killed on national television, isn't a competitive match with Macho better than jobbing in twenty seconds to Warrior? If he was so against doing a big job early in his reign, why did he go out like a bitch after they'd spent 18 months building him up? -
There was a huge tax increase that came with those gorgeous stadiums, VX. And even though I don't remember the exact politics of what happened, I think they voted the stadium deal down and ended up with the bill anyways. Ask any resident of the area and they'll tell you how much bad blood still resides over that whole mess. My question is where the tax increase is. Is it in their sales tax? Because I know they don't have state income tax. Although, that'd be hell if I got my paycheck and had a Seahawk/Mariner tax on there. You'd be better off finding a Washingtonian to break it down, but I think there are diverted Lottery funds, an increase in the state sales tax, and an additional bar/restaurant tax that make up the package for Safeco. Qwest was partially funded by Paul Allen, but there was a similar package for that one as well. Keep in mind that this all came after the residents voted against any tax increase to pay for a new stadium.

I spent about twenty minutes in the Zappa section at a local store yesterday trying to make a decision on my next purchase. I got frustrated and just went for some Neil Young. You really need to put together the long-rumored flowchart. I need guidance.

Well Known Wrestlers Without Well Known Matches?

I've often heard that if Dibiase got the belt at Mania, Savage would have won it at the first Summerslam and the entire Megapowers angle would have been kept intact. Is that something you've heard as well or just internet hearsay? -
They only thing that remained after the remodel were the roof trusses and parts of the concrete support system. The rest of the building is brand new as of 1995. EDIT: Deferring to Wiki

Man, Michael Kay's a genius. You know that the President of Baseball Operations for the Red Sox personally said they'd go after him if he opted out months ago, right? Still think there's a slim chance he ends up in Boston unless the number of years comes down. It's not so much the money, but Boston isn't going to commit ten years to the guy.

Sammy Morris was placed on IR. He's done for the season.

Residents of Seattle are still pissed about Safeco and Qwest. There is no way they'd fund the construction of a new stadium for anybody. Not the Sonics. Not the Kings. Not an expansion team. It's a dead deal in that city. Besides, Key Arena is only about a decade old anyways. I don't understand the constant bitching about the need for a new building.
-
I supported the idea, but the execution was flat.
-
If the Kings and Sonics leave, my interest in the NBA will wane even further.

If they want him back forget offering arbitration. Just offer him a two-year deal heavy in incentives.
-
I think the Cubs should tender Prior, and they should broadcast the arbitration live. What kind of salary can you possibly ask for when you've produced a 7.21 ERA over nine starts in the last two seasons? (Note, I'm actively working on how much money I could ask.) I don't think that you can take a paycut of more than 20% from your previous year's salary. Mark Prior made $3.75 million last year.

Boston Red Sox picked up 2008 options on Tim Wakefield and Julian Tavarez. That likely signals the end of Curt Schilling in Boston. There are many other moves that they could end up making, but on the surface that fills the 5th starter and long man positions on next year's team.

I think that's just a convenient excuse for Williams. I've heard that he has a horrible work ethic and never improved on the facets of his game that weren't pro level. He just hoped it would be as easy as college was. Taking the year off certainly didn't help, but people have taken a year off before and come back at a high level.
-
It went totally under the radar, but former USC standout receiver Mike Williams was cut by the Raiders this week. Talk about a draft bust. I bet Mel Kiper feels a little stupid for having him as no. 1 on the big board.

A-Rod wanted $350 million to stay with Yankees?!
