I like the General Wrestling folder sometimes. A few good posters makes there way up there but I get tired of the same people asking about ten year old urban myths every couple of months. It also seems like there are 10 good topics going at once or zero, never anything in between.
-
Why does their attendence go down in the playoffs? That's not a good trend.
-
He'll be starting by Week 8.
-
It pleases me that the wrestling folders are getting no love.
-
That is gold. It's also stupid as hell. No wonder he can't keep a job in the company.

I didn't know Wayne Krivsky posted on this board. -
Edge injured; out of action for undetermined length of time
Cheech Tremendous replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
You know, I understand that its the internet thing to talk about HHH squashing everyone and holding the rest down, but has there been much evidence of this in the past 2 or 3 years other than internet hearsay? He jobs in every big match and hasn't held a title since early 2005. I just really doubt that he wants Booker and Kennedy on Raw to squash them and that he's so upset that Edge was the one who got away. It's totally ridiculous. -
Throw me on the wait list.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Cheech Tremendous replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
It's being discussed in General Wrestling already, but how will the media portray the death of John Kronus in light of the whole Benoit debacle? -
This will get some media attention. Marc Mero's going to have to edit his list.

I wonder if there are some exploitable inefficiencies creeping into the market because nobody is willing to deal prospects. It's not like every prospect dealt is going to be Jeff Bagwell or Scott Kazmir. Most of these "untouchable" prospects won't even sniff a successful major league career. I love prospects and all, but if the Red Sox can get real talent, they can give up anyone they like.

The Mets have the third best reliever ERA in the NL. I could see them trying to acquire one more arm, but the combination of Heilman and Wagner at the end of the game is about as good as you can get. I think they need another starter before they start worrying about the bullpen. -

Well since Benoit obviously went into a murderous rampage that was spurned by his demotion to ECW, I'd say you're absolutely right. -
durgz was an instant classic (the line and the thread) but it's been too much pbone too fast. He needs some more time and more posts before I jump on the bandwagon.

They had an interesting thing going with the Outsiders storyline, but I don't think it would have ever become as successful as it did without Hogan. He was the only name out there that could take it to that next level. Maybe Bret Hart could have done some big numbers, but the success of that angle was as much about Hogan turning heel as it was the NWO invasion.

What would it take to make you interested in the WWE again
Cheech Tremendous replied to iggymcfly's topic in The WWE Folder
Honestly, who is? Not only that, but HHH was the other guy standing in the ring for a lot of those shows that Austin and Rock are credited for drawing. You can argue all day about who was drawing those fans, but he as still the #1 heel during the company's most successful period. He also has the main events of WM's XX, XXI, and XXII that he all drew without the aid of Hogan, Rock or Austin. -
The Braves should try to get Dmitri Young. He can slide right in at first base to replace Thorman (and put Franco in a nice assisted living facility). If Bowden holds onto Dmitri, he should be fired. He didn't even have a team when Spring Training started. There's no way he creeps up high enough to warrant draft pick compensation. As for Santana, he had to go back to AAA. Dude's a total mess right now.

Even if he returns before the trade deadline, that's not enough time to showcase him for a trade. He wasn't having his best season before the injury and there aren't many teams who'd be interested in giving up a ton for a guy with question marks. If they are going to trade him, they need to get back full value. Now is not that time. -

I think a number of teams will be in on Kevin Millar, including the Yankees and Red Sox. He's a competent bat off the bench, as long as he keeps his attitude in check. They'll probably field offers for Trachsel as well. It's too bad that Tejada has been injured because they could probably deal him to a contender looking for a power bat. -

Well the teams who actually need stuff are the Angels, Mariners, Twins and Indians and there aren't really any fans of those teams on this board, at least to my knowledge. Besides viva, you know I love me some Astros talk. -
The Braves have acquired Julio Franco.

Okay I understand how it's made, I just don't get the why. It sounds like a disgusting mess (and those I know who have tried it confirmed this). Why do Canadians find it so appealing, and what does it taste like?
-
Well I think Jarrett would have only run the business end of the operations. Pat Patterson would have continued on as the head booker.
-
So the Kendall in Chicago honeymoon is over already? I thought it would last at least a week.

You know, there could be some sort of crazy three way trade there that sends Oswalt to Atl, Jennings/Lidge to NYM and Salty & Milledge to Houston. Never going to happen, but those teams have some pieces that match up. If Houston can add a quality arm, power bat, catcher or a shortstop at the deadline in an Oswalt or Lidge deal, they should do it as quickly as possible. Masterson and Bowden aren't untouchables, but they're guys who'd fit into a Teixeira deal, not one for Dan freakin' Wheeler.
