It's funnier that when the Yankees are losing, you can't find a fan in sight. Win a couple games and they are everywhere again.
-
Remember when they started 3-10 and and there were about a half dozen posters on the board who said they were done already? That was fun.
-
I still think a Richard Jefferson for Zach Randolph swap makes too much sense for either side to pass up.

I'll give you my shit if you give me your shit. That being said, good trade for the Rockets.

20 years old and you are just getting your license? Anyways, it's not hard at all. Step on the gas and hold the wheel. Look out for other drivers.

I see no reason why Matt Murton can't be a starting outfielder for a number of teams. The Cubs have really mishandled him so far. I advocated a starting outfield of Murton-Pie-Soriano in spring training. I don't watch many Cubs games, but that's got to be better than whatever they are running out there now, isn't it?

Mr. McMahon "dead" - Now for the "whodunit" angle.
Cheech Tremendous replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
Absolutely not. I would still argue that it was meant to setup the Jackass angle, but now that's out the window while they attempt to milk the mainstream attention it for all its worth. By the way, they have to get at least 0.5 ratings bump next week. Right? -
Piniero won't get traded. No team is going to offer much when they can get him on the cheap in a couple weeks when he gets DFA'd. I don't know about Timlin/Romero. They both suck. At least with Timlin, there is a slight chance that he is still working back from injury and can regain some form down the stretch. I just don't want him thrown into any hi-lev spots until then.

Mr. McMahon "dead" - Now for the "whodunit" angle.

The thought of real FBI agents searching through McMahon's personal files just cracks me up for some reason. Could you imagine? "Hey Bill, I don't understand what any of these file notes are supposed to mean. This one just says 'Tell Sabu to fuck Sabu.'" -
It's a long story, but I'm a west coaster who sort of got sucked in while I was younger because there was no team even reasonably close to me from a geographic standpoint. Things got amped up when I had a couple of Boston transplants for roommates during college. I've spent a little bit of time out there the last few years and almost moved but I'm sort of tied to a job out here.

That was a 4.89% chance to win the division, not the wild card. I picked them to win the division at the start of the year and I still think they'll probably end up in the playoffs. Detroit's a little better than I thought they'd be, so there will be some competition for that spot. Even as a Sox fan, I never bought into the whole Yankees suck angle. I just thought it was a run of bad luck that they'd get out of soon enough.... and well, look what's happened.

My guess is that the Suns would take Corey Brewer. Just pure speculation on my part.

WWE should re-hire Sheik and have a camera follow him at all times. It'd make a spectacular reality show.
-
That streak's something to be proud of. BP's Playoff Odds report now has them at a 4.46 percent chance of winning the division. But it gets even better... if we PECOTA adjust it they are at 4.89%. Sizzling indeed.

There are rumors all over that the Suns will trade Shawn Marion to the Celtics for Delonte West, the no. 5 pick and Theo Ratliff's contract. That at least makes some sense for both sides.

In the Baseball America annual, they list rankings for the last three drafts. I think around 5 years ago, teams like Milwaukee and Atlanta were being praised for their drafts. As far as 10 years ago, I don't know. Those players would already be out their team's respective systems by now anyways.

The Boston Red Sox have asked MLB to remove David Ortiz from the player's ballot for the All-Star game and replace him with Kevin Youkilis. The team asked Ortiz for his permission and he was cool with it. Ortiz is already probably in from fan voting, but it's a nice gesture anyways. Could be weird to see one team sending two 1Bs to the All-Star game.

In his chat today, Jim Callis of Baseball America said that the Boston Red Sox had the best overall draft. There are a lot of hard signs in that group though, so things could obviously change between now and the deadline. Also mentioned that the Yankees had an exceptional draft. I guess the rich keep getting richer. Other notes: Doesn't think that Porcello will sign with the Tigers and Andrew Brackman might need elbow surgery.

Mr. McMahon "dead" - Now for the "whodunit" angle.
Cheech Tremendous replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm going to wager a guess that it was originally set up as a Jackass "stunt" to kickstart that angle going in to Summerslam, but I bet that's out the window now after seeing all the attention the angle is getting. They are going to milk this thing for all it's worth. -
It could actually be really interesting if there was discussion regarding things going on with the board. If it's going to be Smart Mark Radio, might as well discuss the going-ons of the Smart Marks Forums. Could be fun. Oh, and give a Al a sports segment.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs San Antonio Spurs
Cheech Tremendous replied to USC Wuz Robbed!'s topic in Sports
That was a horrible non-call, as egregious as any we've seen in the finals. But I'm not convinced that it altered the conclusion of the game. -
Cleveland Cavaliers vs San Antonio Spurs
Cheech Tremendous replied to USC Wuz Robbed!'s topic in Sports
I don't know if Spurs versus anyone would necessarily be bad. San Antonio has two things working against them. The first is that they are just flat out better than everyone else which makes it hard to have any competitive games. Second, they seem to adopt the style of whoever they are playing. When that's Phoenix or Dallas we get something interesting. Cleveland? Not so much. If you look back, the most entertaining series' of the last few years have all involved the Spurs (Spurs/Suns this year, Spurs/Mavs last year). I think Spurs/Bulls or even Spurs/Pistons (much better than '05) could have been slightly entertaining. -
WWE General Discussion for June 2007
Cheech Tremendous replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
As far as the McMahon angle is concerned, I think the idea of doing a Vince "death" is retarded and will hurt the business in the long run. That being said, I thought it was a brilliantly executed segment. How they follow it up will determine how it's regarded as an all-time angle. -
I heard him the other day going on and on about how successful this years Finals were and that the NBA had to ecstatic. His reasoning, you ask? According to Seibel, it didn't matter what the ratings were, the only thing of importance was how many t-shirts they were selling at the NBA store. Since they sold a bunch of Cavs shirts it proved that everyone wanted to see them. Needless to say, I was having a tough time following that one.
