Top WWE wrestlers named in SI steroid investigation.

I was really suprised to see this as the top story on ESPN this morning. This is not good publicity for the WWE no matter how you spin it. Usually they stay off the radar but I'm starting to think this may have some implications. The story mostly focuses on Orton, but mentions the other guys' names. Canseco, Holyfield and Matthhews Jr. just get a sidebar (although they were covered heavily a couple of weeks ago).

You guys are missing the bigger picture. The Indians will win the Central this year.

Rey is one of the most easily identifiable roid users in the company. It's not possible for a 5'3" guy to be that big, especially since he's put on a good 30-40 lbs of muscle since the end of WCW.

    Urban Legends and Myths

I've seen videos with chickens that are used by KFC and their beaks and toes are clipped. They are also genetically modified to the point that they can't stand because of the weight of their breast meat. I don't think they are capable of growing feathers either, but that I'm not positive about.

If someone asked fans to come up with a list of guys obviously on roids, Edge, Angle, Eddie, Orton and Rey would all certainly come up. As for Helms, well not all guys who take PEDs end up looking like monsters. Everyone reacts a little differently to the effects of the drugs.

    2007 Spring Training: The Thread

Very true. At the end of last season, I though the White Sox would maybe be the favorites in the Central going into this year. I now have them as the fourth best team in the division and slipping. They still have the ability to be very good, but everyday Kenny Williams and Ozzie Guillen make it a little harder. PECOTA has them projected to win 72 games, which seems awfully low but there aren't a lot of reasons to be optimistic right now. Last year the Sox finished third in runs scored despite abysmal offensive seasons from Juan Uribe, Scott Podsednik and Brian Anderson. The Sox need to patch together a solution in left field, and I'm more inclined to give Kenny Williams the blame on that one. I would also bet on some regression from Thome, Konerko and Dye, all of whom had seasons that aren't likely repeatable at their advancing ages. Podsednik and Erstad batting back to back will cause a problem with sustaining drives and putting runs on the board. I don't think they'll be a bad offensive team, but certainly one with potential to be less than stellar. The pitching staff might cause even more concern. The starting five proved to be much more human last year, and now they've lost both Freddy Garcia and Brandon McCarthy with no great options to replace them. Removing pitching depth has a way of coming back to hurt a team in the long run. The back end of the bullpen should still be good with MacDougal and Jenks, but getting there is going to become more of an issue. This team had all the elements for employing a "go for it now" mentality and they just spun their wheels in the offseason. Maybe. Maybe not. On paper, from a pure talent standpoint, they are the 4th best team in the division. However, a lot can happen between now and October. That's why they play the games.

So Ozzie plans to bat Erstad second? I wonder if Ozzie understands that you have to score runs to win games.

Sort of. They filmed a segment where Jake gave Hogan a DDT and it got a big pop. The clip never aired and they decided it wasn't best for business to put them together.

    The Old School questions thread

It was debunked? IIRC, both Steamboat and Honky have said it was true. Butch Reed is shown in the locker room celebrating with Honky after he wins the title so the story of him being a no-show doesn't seem to hold a lot of water. Reed, I believe, said in his shoot interview that it's an urban myth and he was never being considered for the IC title. Most people have jumped to the conclusion that Honky and Hulk made the story up to make it seem like they were geniuses for suggesting that Honky get the belt. I guess we'll never know definitively, but the evidence seems to be against the Reed story.

I'd really like to reach the point where I can take Czech's breath away with my posts. As for BL, I think people are voting for him because's they think he's black and they don't want TSM to get the label that it only panders to affluent white males.

Working out more but eating at Wendy's? I don't think I've found a Wendy's since I moved to Portland, actually. And at worst, I've eaten chicken sandwiches and salads there. But yeah, they do have pretty good iced tea. Really?... they're everywhere.
