Cheech Tremendous replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
It's not that the music folder sucks, it's just that it's hard to get a good conversation going. At some point it will turn to taste and preference and someone will get offended. I was organizing my CDs last night and realized I had close to 1,000 different discs. But I still don't know what 90% of the stuff is that gets talked about in that area. Not sure what that means, but it might speak to the narrowness that KKC mentioned. -

I'll talk Sirius with you, bob. I've been a subscriber since the early days. -

That wasn't as bad as me getting bitch-slapped by Inc for getting punny with my thread titles in the Music folder. You have to walk a fine line in that whole area. -

I find e-feuds perplexing because I can't see why anyone would care enough to keep them going. I don't have the energy for an e-feud. Besides, I like all of you... even if I get fucking grouchy sometimes. -

Just wanted to interject and say that Brody can contribute on old school wrestling topics. He's got an uncanny memory for tons of forgotten stuff from the territory days. But yeah, the threads of depravity and shock are useless. I haven't bothered reading his stuff on the lower half of the board in months. Quite frankly, I never understood the appeal. But then again, I never I got the appeal of Milky's schtick either (even though I do like him - Milky - as a poster). -
I'm okay with the rule. And I'm still speechless about Willy Aybar. Who's he going to pick next round? Willie Bloomquist? Brian Anderson? Nick Punto?
-
Willy Aybar? Did I miss something?
-
Intentional? Ha!

I'm reading it now, and it's not. It's just people going: #248, WWE poster says this LOL THEY STOOPID AND SUCK. I think Slayer and Kinetic drop some funny lines in the beginning. Hoff returning to bitch me out is good. Ribbing Jericholic never gets old. At first, it was a light-hearted jab at some of the rampant stupidity that dominated the folder. After a while, it did turn into a bitchfest, which I find regrettable, but the end result was some positive changes in the WWE folder. A cross-forum call-out seems ridiculous in hindsight, but who knew it would spawn 48 pages of WWE folder discussion? And Bob, I've heard your stand-up... I don't think that we run parallel in our comedic tastes.

I went back to the first post in this thread. I find it funny that the first example of why the WWE Folder sucks actually makes Cheech look stupid, Matt Hardy is much better than Taker. The thread was originally called 100 Reasons Why The WWE Folder Sucks Dick and it was a parody of the 100 Reasons Why Matt Hardy Is Better Than the Undertaker thread. The first post doesn't make sense in the context of what the thread has become. As for your earlier comment, the first half of this thread is actually funny, nitpick douchiness aside. Now it's just people arguing about dumb WWE angles.

of course you like it, you did it. and it sucked. I stand by my work.

I sort of like the punny use of thread, TSM or posts in a thread title. I guess it's annoying to see it more than once or so a week, but it's certainly more interesting than some of other thread titles we have.

I think just about everybody would be well-served with an annual break. I might take one myself in the next few months. -
Orioles sign Ty Wigginton to a two-year deal worth about $6 million. Link

The Dodgers can now turn around and sign Orlando Hudson, Randy Wolf and Adam Dunn for the $25 million they had set aside for Manny Ramirez. I think that's what will end up happening and in the end, they'll be a better team for it. This was the perfect scenario for Manny: a pay raise, a short-term deal and a return to LA. The Giants or Nationals could come in with an offer now, but I'm guessing they'd be in the $20 million a year range for two or three years. I don't see how that's a better fit, but Boras sticks to his guns no matter what.
-
No worries, man.
-
I've seen no hard evidence that shows you are not TMC1982. Inspector Dandy is on the case.

Dodgers have reportedly offered Manny a one year, $25 million contract. Take the money, Manny. You aren't getting a better offer.
-
Did anyone else hear that Bud Selig made $18 million last year as commissioner? That's an absurd amount of money.
-
Does anyone else find it absurdly early to be starting the draft? I know this thing takes a long time, but I'd rather cut time short in late rounds than start too early and stretch it. I can't even find a reliable list of players to start my fantasy work. Luckily, I don't have a pick until the fourth round.

We've done this topic before, but let's do it again. The sheer amount of coverage in sports has led to certain phrases being used so often that they've lost any sort of meaning whatsoever. Here a few: - In baseball, young pitchers being described as "live arms." - Any time a player insults a coach or teammate he's "throwing them under the bus." - A player that is bad at what he does but is well-liked by the media or teammates is a guy that "plays the game the right way."
-
Mets sign Oliver Perez (3 years, $36 million)
-
How about Michael Clayton from the Bucs? He had 80 receptions for 1,193 yds and 7 TDs in his rookie campaign, but has managed just 125 catches and 2 TDs in the four years since.

Superbowl XLIII: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals

Someone's arguing that Harrison didn't punch the guy? That's absurd. I was watching the game with a large group and everyone, including Steelers fans, was in agreement that Harrison should be thrown out of the game. That was one of the most unsportsmanlike things I've seen and it was in the biggest game of the year. You can't allow that type of buffoonery to be tolerated. The sad thing is Harrison's actions totally negated that game-changing play he had earlier in the game. It probably cost him the MVP.
