So WP is still roaming the forum...
Cheech Tremendous replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in No Holds Barred
Yeah I've encountered this guy in a couple of threads. Let's just ban him and sort it out later. -
Characters that should NEVER be allied.

Oh my god. Can we ban this guy please? -
Alfonso Soriano is good, but he's not THAT good. $70 million over 5? That's insane. Whoever overpays for him is going to regret it big time in a few years.

So here's the conversation I had with my 50-something ulta conservative loon co-worker today. Me: Did you hear about the Yankees pitcher who crashed his plane? Her: Yes, I think it was a terrorist attack. Do you? Me: No, it was probably just an accident. I don't think he's a terrorist. Her: There are terrorists everywhere and we don't even know who they are. Does he have a reason to hate America? Me: ...

I'm glad that we let a good 10 hours or so go by before we started in with the Cory Lidle jokes. TSM, you never disappoint.

Semantics
-
It'll go nicely with the one he got last year.

Confirmed now that it was Cory and his flight instructor. He made a mayday call shortly before the crash. Also should be noted that while he did make $17 million in his career, he is not eligible for the MLB pension plan because he crossed the picket lines during the '94 strike.

Hey pot, has anyone ever introduced you to the kettle?

Psicosis Arrested for Stealing Car
Cheech Tremendous replied to Toshiaki Koala's topic in The WWE Folder
He lies? He cheats? He steals? -
Just in case there is confusion, the game was rained out. It has nothing to do with Lidle's death.

Was this the interview were they ripped him for his attitude after he said that he was enjoying a nice day in New York? I heard that they went off him because he wasn't show the same pain from being eliminated that the fans of the team were.

Cena must have been a Bertha Faye fan then. Also, I wish Russo was still booking WWE. John Cena as the Fat Chick Thrilla? Book it!
-
I haven't had a chance to hear the replay yet, but Howard Stern's website has a short synopsis of Cena's appearance this morning. He mentioned that he won't leave WWE like the Rock did if his movie is successful. He also revealed that he has sex with fat women, including a recent encounter with a 280-pound fan, and implied that Chris Kanyon was fired not because he was gay, but because he wasn't entertaining. Nothing else really of note.

That's totally uncalled for.

There are rumors going around as to who might have been on the plane with him. I won't report those until there is more information. Lidle had reported fuel problems right after take off, so suicide is probably out of the equation. He leaves behind a wife and 7 year old child.
-
Mayor Bloomberg has stated that there were two people aboard the plane that both perished (names not being released). No deaths in the apartment building. The area where the crash happened is all restricted airspace.

There is an article up at espn.com saying that Amare Stoudemire considered retirement during the offseason. Here's hoping that he can regain some of his original form, but I have my reservations.

Manhattan building hit by "small aircraft"
Cheech Tremendous replied to naiwf's topic in Current Events
I've been placing news in the sports folder as well. Cory Lidle and at least one other person are dead at this point. -
I just heard that too. Holy shit. EDIT: I've moved all of my other comments to the Lidle thread.

Bronson Arroyo did an interview with the Rhode Island News saying that he wishes he was still pitching in Boston, and that he plans to return there when he is a free agent after the 2008 season. That would kind of piss me off if I was a Cincinnati Reds fan. Article also states that the Red Sox are interested in Gary Sheffield, and that the Yankees are now willing to pick up his option just to keep him away from their rivals.

Cena was on Howard Stern this morning. I'll try catch the replay this afternoon and get a quick report up.

That's cute that Joe Crede was voted to the All-Star team over A-Rod. Even in a down year, A-Rod's numbers were superior.
