I've got a couple that both sound really bad in hindsight, but had me dying laughing when I heard them. - In high school, one of our friends had a really geeky brother who used to hang around us. We even developed an alter-ego for him, a stealth superhero named "Ninja Tom." Well one weekend, Tom and a friend were working on a motorcycle together. Tom's friend attempts to drive it off, gets hit by a car and dies. The following Monday morning Tom shows up at school. My buddy turns to him and in serious voice says, "You sabotaged his bike, didn't you Ninja Tom?" - About a year ago, a girl from my area was kidnapped and missing for a while. It was later revealed that she was killed, but we didn't know it yet at the time. Well, a few of my friends knew who she was because our buddy had hooked up with her a few times. Well one night we are watching the news and they are showing home video footage of the girl, to which my friend turns to me and says "They should of showed the footage I took of me fucking her." Truly great stuff.

WWE News And Notes From 12/6 Observer
Cheech Tremendous replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
And he's not really writing to a "general wrestling fan" audience. He writes to a smart audience that is actually interesting in knowing the history and inner workings of the business. I find his history pieces to be about ten times more interesting than *anything* going on in the business today. -
Things that were supposed to happen but didn't
Cheech Tremendous replied to MikeJordan23's topic in General Wrestling
Myth. I was about to say the same thing. I remembering reading somewhere (Observer maybe?) that the plan was always for Bret to leave that night with the title. There is debate to whether or not Lex would transition that night, but if memory serves me he was supposed to lose to Yoko and start feuding with Hennig (never winning the title at all). -
I was actually standing about 20 feet away from this entire incident. They guy definitely fired off about half a dozen shots... and they were not in the air. He was firing at passing cars. Due had been in a fight earlier in the evening outside the bar we were in leading to one of the party members being tazered. Fuck, if I won the lottery I wouldn't be anywhere near the sketcky bars we were at.

I agree. Show some maturity, be a professional and maybe they'll relax the dress code again. Yeah, I don't get what everyone is crying about. These are employees of a publicly traded, multi-million dollar company. The days of Zubaz pants, fanny packs and tank tops is over. It's not that tough to look respectable.

Randy Orton Birthday Cake
Cheech Tremendous replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't think there are ovens that can cook a cake that large. -
Surprisingly enough, Jericho and Triple H aren't really on that bad of terms. When Trips was out with his injury he lobbied to get Jericho the Undisputed title and specifically wanted to work with him. In addition, Shawn Michaels and Jericho are fairly close due to the religion stuff. They really wanted to work together pre-WM XIX. Now one could argue that Triple H likes to build Jericho up to bury him, but there's never been any reported bad blood.

4 Disc 10 Hour Live Aid DVD Set out next month
Cheech Tremendous replied to Vanhalen's topic in Music
I was excited until I read the part about no Zeppelin. -
If you ever think of killing, raping, stealing or committing any other serious crime, due it on Raw or Smackdown. The cops will never arrest or even question you. On the other hand, never threaten the General Manager of the show, or you are likely to be hauled off to prison until the following week.

I don't have my Observers here in front of me, but if I remember correctly, house show business hit an all time peak during Angle's first reign. Contrary to belief that everything fell of in Sept. 2000, I think Angle's first reign drew really well. There were other factors involved with that period, but it was far from the bomb everyone seems to remember.

This thread and the reactions in general to Rock absolutely blow my mind. All I could think about last night was how the Rock has better mic skills, presence and more charisma than the rest of the WWE combined. This guy is so head and shoulders above this stuff that he makes wrestling in general look better just by showing up. Here's a guy who makes tens of millions of dollars a year and doesn't need wrestling at all. Yet he shows up any time he can to help entertain the fans and put someone over for the good of the business. How anyone could call his act tired or say that he's burying talent is totally out of their minds. I'm not saying everyone has to like him or agree with me. However I really think your hate is misplaced by attacking this guy for showing up and trying to make this diva crap not suck and then give a little rub to Tajiri and La Res. And if you don't think that's a rub, just remember: being on screen for 20 minutes with a major Hollywood star during the highest rating segment of the program is a rub.

During the original expansion period, Kerry was one of the back-up plans in case he didn't get Hogan. I doubt that by '91 there were any long term plans for him though.

Bret Hart responds to Ric Flair's comments
Cheech Tremendous replied to a topic in TSM Classic Threads
http://www.liveaudiowrestling.com/wo/news/...t.asp?aID=10859 Not sure if many had seen this, but it's the latest from the Observer site. Nothing terribly new, but some good commentary nonetheless. The final letter really weighs in on Flair, Hart and Foley. Plus it is refreshing to hear Meltz' comments on the whole thing. Even though he is a Flair fanboy, he is still the most knowledgeable and sane net writer out there. He seems to think that Hart can't really touch Flair's 80s work. On a sidenote, I was thinking today about Flair's reputation of being as good a worker at houseshows as he was with the camera on. Seeing that he won his first title in '81 and bailed for the WWF in '91, any guess on how many **** matches he had in that period? Anyone care to wager that it is 2 or 3 times as many as Hart had in his career? -
I figured that Eddie would've hurt his back first, seeing as how he's been carrying Bradshaw's ass for the past 4 months.

For those questioning the 12.5 beer century club logic, here's the way I figured it. 1 shotglass = 1.5 ounces 100 shots x 1.5 = 150 ounces 150 / 12 ounces = 12.5 beers That doesn't even account for all that will be spilled, and polishing off cans while waiting for the next shot. Power Hour is definitely a great alternative. Oh, and for those who do the Century Club, I recommend bringing along a sober secretery... someone to make sure all 100 shots are taken at appropriate intervals, as well as keep a log of the stupid shit that will done.

That actually sounds like a tremendous idea. I live on the west coast and I hear about so many people being discouraged because they hear the results coming in from the east.

Since when is Nikita Koloff a former World Heavyweight Champion?

I particularly liked this exchange for some reason. HHH: What's the most exotic place you have ever done it? Girl: The Getty mazeem. HHH: The Getty Museum? Girl: Yeah, the mazeem. Anyways, this show sucked it hard. And if Carmella wins this thing is a total fix. I don't care if she is hot, she had no personality whatsoever. Seriously, I have heard of Flair carrying a broomstick, I doudbt we need someone around with the personality of one.

Actually Century Club equates to 12.5 beers in 1 hour, 40 minutes. And I don't care how well you can handle your alcohol, you will be thoroughly plowed without question. Even trying to hold all that liquid down is tough, as I've seen people puke before the twenty minute mark.

How can anyone really blame the kids for jumping straight to the NBA instead of going to college? It's the OWNERS fault for gambling millions of dollars on an unsure thing. If they went to college, it's just the universities who pocket all the money. You think any of these guys are getting real educations anyways? Think of it this way. If your whole life you wanted be a lawyer and a law firm offered you a fantastic position at the top of the company directly out of high school, would you waste your time going to college? I doubt anyone would. I don't like where this trend is taking the game. I would prefer a developmental league as well, but I have come to accept that this is where the game has gone and it's not going to change anytime soon.

Bret Hart responds to Ric Flair's comments
Cheech Tremendous replied to a topic in TSM Classic Threads
Let's just sum it all up then real simply... Bret Hart is a phenomenal worker. Ric Flair is a phenomenal worker. They are both legends. They both had ***** matches. They were both out of line. Basically it's fun to argue it because nothing in the WWE is remotely this interesting. -
After doing Power Rankings for the east I realized that all those critics who are saying there has been a power shift to the east are smoking crack. As much as I would like to think I can predict how it will turn out, outside of the top 3 it is a complete wildcard. "Toronto is garbage! They have nothing...Bosh is still undersized and Vince Carter can do a few highlight reel dunks before getting injured. To suggest they make the playoffs is absurd" Yes Toronto is garbage, but they have about as good of a shot as anybody in the east.

How about the Eastern Conference... 1. Detroit - Still the team to beat, especially if Darko learns how to do anything this year. 2. Indiana - Stephen Jackson will bring improvement but they still need a center. 3. Miami - They'll contend, no doubt, but they need a bench 4. New Jersey - Losing Martin will hurt and there are questions about Kidd, but who in the east can leapfrog them? 5. New York - As long as Isiah doesn't blow the team up halfway through the year they can be something. 6. Milwaukee - Should be about as good as last year. 7. Philadelphia - Igoudala and Skinner will get them back into the playoffs. 8. Toronto - Should be back in the playoffs by now. --- 9. Cleveland - Yeah they lost Boozer, but Lebron will keep them competitive. 10. Chicago - If all the new pieces fit and everyone buys into the system, they can make a run. 11. Boston - This team is going nowhere in a hurry. Pierce will be gone before the season's out. 12. Orlando - See Chicago. 13. Washington - Arenas and Jamison will at least be fun to watch. 14. Atlanta - If they can get enough players together to field a team. 15. Charlotte - It's a long road ahead.

This is still criminally early realizing that we won't totally know how things shake out in the end. But as of today, these would be my power rankings in the west: 1. San Antonio - Brent Barry + another year together = major trouble 2. Minnesota - This could be the team next year 3. Sacramento - Provided Webber can show something 4. Denver - Adding Martin gives them an unbelievable frontcourt 5. Houston - Yao/T-Mac need time, but they have a chance. 6. Dallas - Losing Nash will only help Daniels mature. 7. Utah - Ak47, Boozer, Okur is a nice a frontline 8. L.A. Lakers - Not convinced of this squad even with Kobe. They are playoff material for sure, but I don't know how far they can go without a big. ---- 9. Phoenix - Have the potential to be this year's Memphis or Denver. 10. Memphis - I like this team, but the playoffs exposed a lot of weaknesses. They won't surprise people like last year. 11. Portland - Depending on what they get for SAR, they are in trouble. 12. L.A. Clippers - Brand/Maggette/Q can make them compete. 13. New Orleans - They'll get eaten alive in the west. 14. Seattle - Ugghh. 15. Golden State - This team will suck... bad. Montgomery was not an upgrade. For the record, Kobe + Clippers > Kobe + Lakers
