This idea is split from the current thread about the 2008 Poster Tournament. Basically it's a thread to reflect on the year at TSM. Let's hear it all... the good, the bad, the ugly and the Marvin. No format is necessary here. Feel free to come up with your own categories and reflections. Here are a few ideas to get your started: Thread of the Year Folder of the Year Feud of the Year Post of the Year Dumbshit Moment of the Year Worst Poster Funniest Poster TSMeme of the Year We still have a whole month until the Poster of the Year tourney. Have fun, but don't burn yourself out.

Espn.com is reporting that Lebron may be close to signing an extension with Cleveland. I doubt that he actually signs anytime soon, but I also believe that there's almost no chance he ends up in New York. Great tradition, big city, but really, why would he go play for that moribund franchise?

Alright, I've got copies of TV on the Radio, Cut Copy, Vampire Weekend and Portishead in my possession. Time to expand my horizons to be a little more Pitchfork-y.

That's low, Venk. Real low. Everyone knows that I'm paying homage to the football player who changed his name to pay homage to "Stiles" Stilinski from Teen Wolf.

Which poster would you most like to hang out with?
Cheech Tremendous posted a topic in No Holds Barred
The name of the thread says it all. We all know each other a bit from the massive amount of time we spend posting here. Some of us have a personal relationship with each other, but for the most part all we know is what we can glean from posts. Some guys might not shine in a "boarding hard" sense, but have a personality that you'd click with. For instance, I love Czech as a poster, but he seems very reclusive and judgmental. It'd probably take me ten minutes to piss him off. However, I think I would click with someone like VX, given our Portland connection and love of food, sports and beer. So, who would you most want to hang with? -
The day that Tupac died I spent the whole night listening to All Eyez On Me crying my eyes out.

The Jets are probably going to lose this weekend anyways. They've played three west coast road games this year and have lost them all.

Looks like they might be closing in on Teixeira. If this doesn't get it done, I'd assume they pull out the Teix ends up with the Angels. I'll be back with comments later if there is any indication that this is getting done tonight or tomorrow.

I thought Tellem was the head of WMG or up there at least. He's the company president. I still think that Kinzer will take the brunt of it, but Tellem might have to lie low for awhile, especially in baseball negotiations.
-
Douchey or not, I like Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Lots of hate going around TSM these days. C'mon people, it's the holiday season!
-
WMG will have to fire Kinzer, and probably Tellem as well. I know that agents are sleazy and that they are encouraged to do unscrupulous things to get their client the best deal, but they went too far this time. There has to be a line somewhere and they, unfortunately, decided to cross it. Now everyone knows it, and it will be hell for them in any future negotiations for their clients.

John Schuerholz, Braves President, and Frank Wren, current Braves GM, have informed the Wasserman Media Group (Furcal's agents) that they will never do business with them again. This is substantial news, as they actually have a fairly large list of clients that they represent (which you can find here: http://www.wmgllc.com/). Wow. I wonder if any other teams will follow suit.
-
Hmmm... that leaves an insufficient amount of time to really solidify the new "Styles G" moniker. Guess I'll have to go back to the tried and true "Cheech."

I actually find Biggie's story far more compelling than 2Pac's. From his inner-city upbringing and drug selling to the early days with Puff and the feud with 2Pac that nearly cost him his marriage and either directly or indirectly cost him his life, there seems to be a lot to tell. Then again, it could be because I prefer Biggie's music by a large degree. It also seems like we've heard Shakur's story too many times. Black panther mom, Baltimore to Oakland move, Digital Underground, Death Row and death... we get it already.

Several outlets are now reporting that the Cameron to the Yankees deal is dead.

-Which professional baseball team is set up best for the next five years, given their talent and the major and minor league levels? -How do you feel about the closing of Hawaiin Winter league? -Have you made up your list of top ten prospects? -Are you using UZR much yet? How close do you think we are to having a meaningful defensive statistic that measures value?
-
From the same guy that pulled out of negotiations with the A's because he didn't think they were being up front enough about their offer? What an asshole. I'll say it again: Furcal's not that special. I guess he got fair market value, but Orlando Hudson's better anyways. Go sign him instead. No one will be sweating the fact that they missed out on the Furcal sweepstakes in a year or two.

I eagerly await the day that Slayer retires and devotes his life to constructing and maintaining the TSM Presidential Library.

Who was behind the Seven Word Bandit?

http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=68058 Thanks! I've never actually seen the original thread. I busted up laughing at CronoT's long description of his new furniture and organizational system and then lost it when the next poster said that he could put all that shit on one shelf. Amazing.

But could the the Tongan Death Grip kill a retarded child? We may never know. Isn't John Tenta dead?

While everyone was wishing a happy birthday to Jericholic82 we forgot to recognize Jericholic82. for also turning 26. Congrats to both. -
