TSM Town Hall: Legacy of a Great Match at Mania
Cheech Tremendous replied to Dandy's topic in The WWE Folder
Just a reminder - The TSM Town Hall threads are designed for discussion and commentary on older topics. The questions posted are guidelines for what you might want to talk about in your reply, but one word answers don't offer much. Try expanding your post and explaing your respective answers. -
There's being a homer and then there is totally irrational. Marvin falls in the latter category. Wouldn't be easier to accept the rebuilding project for what it is and watch some of the new talent blossom instead of deluding yourself into thinking that you are going to win games this year and compete in the near future?

2007 TNA Televised Win-Loss Record
Cheech Tremendous replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in TNA Wrestling
This thread hasn't been updated in 3 months. Bye. -
To be fair, there's not that much difference between you and this gimmick.

No problem. Just in a day's work for the folder custodian.

This is what Leena was born to do. Get your popcorn ready.

It's been one day. There are suggestions threads all over the forums. If there is something that would make the place more fun, speak up.
-
If unnecessary topics are created, I'll close them. If certain posters show no discretion in starting topics, they'll get sent to the Gulag. Most of us are adults here and have been posting on the forums for years. The folder doesn't need a babysitter. As of right now, too many topics is the least of the forum's problems. Should an issue arise down the road we can re-evaluate.

The majority of posters don't read everything in General Discussion and many of them don't come to the folder everyday. The discussion folder is bogged down by endless nonsense. Once something sits for a day no one bothers to discuss it anymore. By the way, you don't have to open 15 threads. Just open the ones that you care about. Newsflash: WWE has sucked since sometime after WM X-7 and most people stopped watching by late 2002. Guess what? We still had plenty of discussion here because the posters that frequent this board grew up wrestling fans and want to still talk wrestling now and again. Those same people have no interest in reading 40 page threads with inane comments and minute news items. There are ideas floating for resurrecting the Raw and SD discussion. Let's take one thing at a time.

That's not a bad idea.

I'm guessing our last mystery poster was buried given the hoopla over yesterday's events. I'm going to leave him up for a few more hours to give some time for new guesses to come in.
-
The new direction is roughly 2 hours old. Give it some time while we work out the kinks. Ideally, all the news and random info contained in General Discussion will find another place in the folder. This will save you time as it will no longer be necessary to read 25 pages to find a newsbit.

Wrestlemania XXIV Discussion Thread
Cheech Tremendous replied to Diamonddust's topic in The WWE Folder
That's surprising to hear about the Mayweather match. It seems like I've been bombarded by advertising for that match. -
Like I said earlier, referencing old characters or angles is more than acceptable, but try to make it relevant toward's today's product. Try to make that clear from the outset as well when starting a new thread.

Wrestlemania XXIV Discussion Thread
Cheech Tremendous replied to Diamonddust's topic in The WWE Folder
I haven't orderd the past three years, but I'm considering it this year. Why you ask? I actually want to see Mayweather/Show. I was hanging out with some friends last week who have no interest in wrestling and even they were discussing that match. I know a lot of people think the angle sucks, but it's getting some major mainstream and casual interest. -
I broke out the venue posts from General Discussion because the last two pages were filled with people discussing the weather and set-up. It may be unnecessary but I didn't want to lose all the posts and discussion just because General Discussion was closed. Ideally, we'd have one Wrestlemania thread. I'll work on that today.
-
The General Discussion Thread is now closed. If you have a news item that you feel needs discussion, start a new thread. Please check the main page to insure that it is not already being discussed elsewhere. If you have questions on whether or not an item deserves a thread, please PM a moderator.

Wrestlemania XXIV Discussion Thread
Cheech Tremendous replied to Diamonddust's topic in The WWE Folder
Breaking out for further discussion. -
I don't have a problem with older stuff being discussed as long as it's somewhat relevant to the modern product. The TSM Town Hall is a good idea and I'd like to see it continue. However, the HHH/Steph/Angle love triangle concluded more than 7 years ago. If you feel there is a way to tie that in with a modern twist (A HHHistory of Political Power, Failed Angles and Their Impact on Today's Audience, etc.) give it a whirl.

Mega-threads are bad for discussion and they've been bad for this folder. Removing the General Discussion folder is being done to open up conversation. I realize there was a point that it was created in the first place, but it's not working in its current state. Rule of thumb: If you come across a news item that you feel needs discussion, start a thread. If you have a comment that doesn't warrant a thread, and you can't find another one on the board where it fits, said comment probably doesn't need to be made. I'm open to the idea of a "This Week in Wrestling" or "Random Thoughts" thread down the line. But for the first couple of weeks I'd like to get away from that mentality.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.
Cheech Tremendous replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
1. That's the date he entered the Gulag. 1a. No one hates him. He just needed to cool a bit. 2. Czech hit the reset button. It's a new era. 3. You can watch the animals. You just can't feed them. -
Imagine what Awkward Lapdance will be like tomorrow night after he hits up the Happy Hour at TGI Fridays!

Is this really that much of a stumper? Not one freaking guess?
