Make an outlandish statement
Lt. Al Giardello replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
From what I've seen I never really seen a bad desicion in a fight, there were desicions I dissagreed with, but they were close fights, that really could've gone either way. Boxing is much worse then UFC, as far as bad desicions. New Arguement: Chris Leben has proven more then Diego Sanchez. -
Who cares what Vegas says. The Lions IMO, has made the best improvements. They got a QB who can win them games and is a better desicion maker then Joey Harrington, in Jon Kitna. And with Mike Martz running the offense, and Donnie Henderson running the defense, they will give the Bears a run for their money for the 1st in the divison.

Vikings are going to flop, they have no real offensive weapon. They also lost Burelson. They must draft a RB in the 1st round, if they want to hang. I think the Lions will problay take the divison this year. Espically with Mike Martz was the offensive coordinator.

Rahman has been considered a legit contender in the 90's. He is a talented boxer, but sometimes becomes lazy training and comes to fights fat. When Rahman comes prepared and focused, he's a threat to beat anyone.

What fights do you think were bad desicions? I really think the judges have been on point. If it's a close fight, and your favorite fighter doesn't get the nod, please don't bitch. I didn't say anything about bad decisons. If you think a 30-27 for Tito is on point, however then I can't help you. I haven't seen the fight so I can't judge it. But from what I've read, you could make an arguement for the 1st round to be 10-8 for Tito, because he completely dominated Griffin. But like I said, I haven't seen the fight so I would not judge. -

UFC signs Anderson Silva

Silva beat Horn... Carlos Newton has a good ground game also, but he got a knee right to his grill, when he tried to take down Silva. -

I really don't want to watch that fight, I honestly don't know who to cheer for, I'm a big fan of both fighters. -

That has fight of the year written all over it. But I think it's too soon for Loiseau, he needs a fight or 2 to gain his confidence back up after the Franklin domination. -
Yeah, signing a injured prone Woodson is a big statement. I can't even remember the last time Woodson played a full season.

I'd personally give to Bron or Kobe(and I am Canadian), but I really can't argue with this choice. This offically made Nash a 1st ballot HOFer.

Enough of this NY talk... MTL/Canes game is 0-0 in the 2nd period.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

Both of these fighters have the talent and ability to be the best heavyweight in the world. The problem with Kevin Randleman is he get's really over confident with his skills and makes stupid mistakes. Bas Rutten, who faced Randleman(And got very lucky with the desicion, considering most MMA fans had Randleman winning) and is very good friends with him once said this about Randleman on the sherdog board. I'm a huge Randleman fan, and want to see him beat Belfort. -

Why do you guys keep ignoring Anderson Silva? He's a better striker then all of those guys. -

You've GOT to be kidding me. To me, the UFC MW division is probably the best one in MMA right now (which, btw, is my outlandish statement). Given the state of the WW division, that is pretty outlandish. The problem with UFC's MW is that while they've built up some decent fighters, they haven't built them up as believable contenders to Franklin's title. Quarry? No way. Loiseau? Too soon for him and done because of the USA vs Canada gimmick. Evan Tanner's always a possibility it seems and maybe David Terrell returns with a vengeance but after that? Swick and Leben are around because they're good lower mid-carders - curtain jerkers who give you a good fight. Joe Riggs? He's the UFC's version of baseball's utility player - I'd swear he'd fight at 155 if they asked. If they had a division at 140, he's probably try for it. So, yeah. Basically I'm thinking that the MW division is good, but not as good as the WWs. You forgot about Anderson Silva, he is a major threat to Franklins title, and can easily KO Franklin. -

Can't argue that. I think Henderson is very overrated. I want to see him come to the UFC though, I think him and Franklin would be an awesome fight. Josh Koschek would beat Diego Sanchez in a rematch. -

Your going to be crying along with the Arlovski fans, when Royce upsets Hughes. -
You'd be suprised... It's not a given, like every fight. But I think Gatti is the favorite to win, and he is my pick. Buddy McGirt will come with the perfect game plan for Gatti to win. Judah didn't take Baldomir serious, and paid for it. Gatti won't do the same. I agreed with you until the Gatti post. Yes Gatti knows he can fight weak opposition and still get paid, but he isn't that time of person. He doesn't fight for the money, he fights for the fans. Gatti backs down from no one, and if the fans want to see him and Margarito fight, he will give the fans what he wants. Gatti fears no one.

I'm getting ready to go out to the bar and watch Calgary BBQ some Duck(Hopefully)!

I can't see Margarito outlanding Floyd. Castillo was another huge fighter also, he's basically Junior Middleweight. Floyd would cruise to a UD, and then typical Floyd haters will go on to say Margarito was overrated, and was beaten by David Santos 2 years ago. Atleast if Floyd beats De La Hoya he can capture the WBC Junior Middleweight title, making him a 5 divison champion(I don't care if you call him a paper champion, Gatti is not a bum like most people say, and he will prove that again when he wins the welterweight titles off Baldomir, and despite the lost to Baldomir). Maybe Margarito should try to get a fight with Judah or winner of Gatti/Baldomir. I know Gatti or Baldomir wouldn't be afraid to fight him.
-
Margarito doesn't have the hand speed or foot speed to compete with Floyd. Margarito may land some shots within the 1st 3 rounds, when Floyd gets a feel of things, but after that Floyd will dominate him. Margarito best career win is over a prospect, Kermit Cintron. Who is another overhyped fighter. Your acting like Floyd has never dealt with power punchers and that have high workrate before(Castillo and Corrales), and both of those fighters are much better boxers and more accurate punchers then Margarito is. Yes Castillo gave Floyd a tough fight the 1st time(I had Floyd narrowly winning 115-113, but can see why people thought Castillo won, either way fight was too close to complain about the desicion), but Floyd was fighting with broken ribs and a broken hand and still edged out the desicion. Margarito would have big time problems with Floyd's amazing footwork, and would get outboxed and confused the for most of the fight. Just watch the 2nd Castillo fight to see how things would play out. I think De La Hoya has a better chance to beat Floyd, then Margarito.
