The Lightweight division isn't shitty, it's just full of up and comers... It would be much more interesting if BJ wasn't in the division because he is head and shoulders above the rest the division and decides to move up. Plus I doubt GSP could actually cut to 155. He's already a huge WW. -

The winner of Sanchez/Alves is getting the next title shot after GSP/BJ either way, they'll problay wait until late March or early April. And the reason Randy got the shot wasn't just because of lack options, but because of Randy's popularaty, and he would generate a lot of money like Penn/GSP 2. The rematch between GSP and Penn has been almost 3 years in the making, and there is no better way to have it then as soon as possible. BJ Penn has proven he is head and shoulders above anyone in the UFC lightweight division, by utterly destroying one of the best fighters in the division who could possibly be a champion if BJ wasn't the champion in Joe Stevenson. Also embarassing and dominating the only threat he had at the division in Sean Sherk, making him look like a C-level fighter. So why not have the top fighter from the Lightweight division fight the top fighter from the Welterweight division? In boxing usually fighters who were champions at a lower weight class who decides to move up in weight at another division, gets immediate title shots, if they are in a top level fighter (I.E. Floyd Mayweather Jr) like BJ Penn is in MMA. I see no reason now. It's the best possible fight, so make it with everything on the line. I know GSP himself wants to prove he is the champion by beating the best, which is BJ right now. -

Ever heard of Sean Sherk? Who wants to bet that Brett Rogers Vs. Kimbo Slice will be for the vacant HW title? -

He's 58 but he's in pretty decent shape for that age. He has years of physical training under his belt, I'm sure he'll adapt just fine to wrestling in short comedy squash matches. Speaking of which, while it's mostly customary for a GM/Authority figure to get in the ring as a wrestler from time to time, has this applied to Teddy Long? He's been the GM/Assistant GM for two different brands for quite awhile and I can't recall him having a physical confrontation in the ring. Remember the whole Bischoff/Long mess at Suvivor Series 2005? Plus Long has taken bumps a few times.

Most world title main events hit around the 20:00 mark anyway, so it isnt a big deal. And they don't always have video packages for some main events.

BJ Penn was the true champion after he beat Joe Stevenson... Cheaters should be stripped off their titles, and not be considered champions. -

Never seen the 1st Nogueria fight, so I'll admit my ignorance, but I've seen the Babalu fight and Hendo won that fight fair and square. And has Palhares faced a top 10 level middleweight like Hendo has through out his career? Excatly... -

I don't see the big deal... Joe Stevenson could beat pretty much everyone right now in the UFC Lightweight division, and you saw his ulter beatdown and destruction at the hands of BJ Penn. BJ is head, shoulders, and waist above the rest of the lightweight division, the only fight that was mildly interesting was the Sherk fight, and BJ embarassed him. BJ is the type who likes to be challenged, and at welterweight there are more challenges for him. Maybe if the UFC were to sign fighters like JZ, Eddie Alvarez, Hansen, Aoki etc. I would see your point, but that isn't the case. Pretty much all the lightweight fighters now are up and comers, so have them battle them out until someone comes ahead of the pack and proves to be a challenge for BJ, until then BJ can fight the likes of Diego Sanchez, Thiago Alves, Koscheck, Fitch, and of course GSP... Plus if BJ defeats GSP, I think he would have no choice but to drop the title. -

Guida has always been known to make mental lasp in fights, and I saw him make a few mistakes in te Griffin fight on which Griffin could've captialized but he never did. Either way, you can't ignore the fact that all those fighters have been finished afterwards, and have proven they could be finish. It seems to me Griffin likes to play it safe, and doesn't want to make too many mistakes that could cost him to bump down in the rankings derailing his chances of a title shot. And if thats the case, more power to him, you fight to win, not to lose. But when you have someone like Florian who finishes fights and has a huge victory over Roger Huerta, he's not going to get the title shot. But who knows how it's going to happen... If Griffin can beat Sherk, and BJ drops title I see Griffin fighting for the vacanted title. -
Damn... Kendrick, MVP, and Benjamin in the main event! I can't wait! Whats the deal with Morishima?

I disagree... - Tavares was knocked out by Matt Wiman after he faced Griffin. - Tibau was submitted by Joe Stevenson in the guillotine choke after he faced Griffin - Guida was finished by Huerta after he faced Griffin, and has been finished before in fights. The only two fighters he fought that have proven to be really hard to be finished were Frankie Edgar and Marcus Aurelio... -

Considering it took how many submission attempts to make Henderson tap out, I'd say Hendo did quite well against both Nogs, plus he holds a victory over Big Nog. Plus he holds victories over Babalu, Renzo Gracie, Ninja, and Bustamante... -

Jason MacDonald replaces an injured Jason Day, and will fight Jason Lambert... Damn MacDaddy has some balls, taking this fight on such short notice. Especially coming off a loss against Maia just a few weeks ago. -

I was going to suggest Dumb and Dumber, but it would be hard to determine who was Dumb and who was Dumber...

I would smash you... Yeah he was talking about Bob calling the first punch. Yeah, what this guy said. By the by, my friend Chad refers to having sex as "smashing". For example, "Bro, I smashed some pussy last night."..."Bro, are you gonna smash that chick or what, cuz if you're not, Tyler is, because Tyler's got mad game, bro, and you're not trying, so go smash that chick, bro." With this in mind, I'm flattered you would like to "smash" me, unfortunately, it will not be happening. The term smashing can be used both ways, just ask C.B. Dollaway.
