Like I said, we already have other players who can score... We had 4 players if 20 goal seasons, for christ sakes. Tanguay had a 29 goal season which is good for someone who is going to be a 2nd goal scorer. You fail to understand that. Judging by that post, your an Oilers fan, which explains everything. Edmonton's defensive problems are much worse then Calgary's, as we already filled our void that was needed for a 2nd scorer in Tanguay, while you have yet to fill void left with Pronger. Huselius can certainly score 25+ goals with Calgary. He came to Calgary, 24 games through the season, and once he got use to the Calgary system he started to play really well. Don't sleep on this kid, he's going to come under the radar. Jamie Lundmark could suprise people as well, when Calgary picked him up at the deadline, he was playing pretty good. He got 4 goals in 12 games. I expect Lombardi to have a better season then he did last year. He's a good player with potential, but I'm not sold on him. This will be his make or break year IMO. I'm sure any team would gladly take Iginla off us, even for 7 million a season. Iginla didn't have the greatest season last year(still had a pretty good season, but that was because he truly missed playing with Craig Conroy who really helped him out in making good passes to him so he can get his goals. Without that he still put the puck in the net, but he didn't have a Maurice Richard trophy season like we are use to seeing from Iggy. And with a player like Iggy he's more then just stats. He's a emotional leader and a great one at that. He was the main reason(along with Kipper) why he had our cup run in 04, because of his great leadership. When the team isn't feeling confident, he will go and do somthing(lay a big body check or pick a fight with a tough fighter on their team) to restore that confidence. He's a tough hard nose player, which is rare for an franchise star player. He can score a bunch of goals, aswell. He deverse the money he gets IMO, because he could've signed with any other team a few years ago that were contenders or that were offering much more money then Calgary, but he stuck with the team and he got his reward for that. Yeah I just brought it up because atleast IMO you made some pretty outragous statements, I won't discuss that topic here. Your missing the point, we were not looking for a pure goal scorer. We were looking for a set up man for Iginla, and Lupul would not be as good as Tanguay for setting up Iggy.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

Is it just me or does Sean Shrek look like Lex Luger? Hate on Miller all you want, but duke gots heart. You remember the ass kicking from GSP? He still wanted more! He can take an ass kicking like no other. I bet Silva would KO him though. -

I have a car, but I don't want to waste gas, and I don't have a parking pass to the school. It's much cheaper taking the bus, then it is spending gas.

I was just busting balls, EHME. No serious disrespect was meant. The bus thing sounded weird because in Boston the most prevalent form of public transportation is the subway ... so it sounded kind of weird to take the bus to school. Like more of a high school thing than a college thing. (technically a middle-school thing, but I digress) And the high school thing sounded weird because it's the last thing that I'd want to have happen when I started college. Going to college was - for me - the chance to get the fuck away from everyone I went to HS with. Literally 30% of my graduating class went to one of the UMASS schools ... so guess where I didn't even apply? I purposely only applied to schools that were far, far away just to be able to avoid the "hey, there's someone I know from high school!" thing. Again, though, I just trying to playfully bust your rocks a little bit. We don't have subways in Calgary, we have C-Train, and near my house I have to take the bus for almost half hour to catch my C-Train to get to school. And I was friends with almost everyone from High School so I have no problem with running into peeps from High School.

We needed a set up man to compliment Iginla. Our passing game was the biggest need of improvement, everyone knew that, all the NHL experts agreed with it, you seem the only real one I've seen that doesn't. Craig Conroy was the player in 2003-2004, and after he left that void needed to be fill, and Tanguay is better then Conroy(offensively). We have forwards and defenseman(Dion Phanuef) who can score goals, he had a ton players who had 20 goal seasons last year. The problem was giving Iginla the puck, and even then Iginla still had 35 goals that season without a playmaker to set him up. And for the record Tanguay had 29 goals, and adding that with his passing game certainly helps out the Flames. And why is Iginla paid 7 million? Dumbest question of all time. He's paid that money because HE'S WORTH IT. He's franchise player who can put the puck in the net, play good defense, make critical body checks and he can lead a team. He's an Art Ross trophy winner, and a 2 time Maurice Richard trophy winner. That was almost as stupid as you trying to convince everyone that the Falcons needed to get Deion Branch. Not to mention he was playing great for the Flames, when we SUCKED for years, and even then STILL stuck with the team when he could've left and made more money with a contender like the Toronto Maple Leafs. We had 4 players with 20+ goals seasons(not including Iggy), finding a second goal scorer(which will problay be Tanguay, but if you ) will not be a problem. Finding a guy to set up our goal scorers WAS a problem. Langkow lead all players in assists with an amazing 35 assits. Lupul may have had 28 goals but he had 25 assists, getting him instead of Tanguay who had 49 asissts last year? No way. You say Calgary have "no chance" to win the divison, that makes you ignorant. Your the only person to say that. Clearly you might've been overreacting with that statement, but whatever, I'll bring your post up at the end of next season when Calgary takes the divison.

I'm having problems with my internet connection in my bedroom, which is wireless. For some odd reason the connection isn't work. I really don't know how to fix it. Can someone help me out?

People never really took New Jack as a serious gimmick, he was more of the fun babyface type. Disagree. I think people were legitmately scared of New Jack, and respected his persona. Maybe it was more bc of his awesome spots and not his character, but still I think his character helped get him over. No one laughed at New Jack. He was one of the most serious characters in ECW. There was nothing serious about New Jack, he was a fun babyface type, who was great for opening up a show. He was feared because he would fucking do some of the most vicious stuff in the ring. One of the most serious characters in ECW? Please. Even go back to SMW, when the gimmick of the Gangstaz(New Jack and Mustafa) 1st started, with the whole "Affirmative Action" shit, and them using Fried Chicken and watermellons as forgien objects. And people say Cryme Time is a big time sterotype.
-
No but Homey the Clown will be their manger. That's excatly my point, it's not they are trying to say all African-Americans are like Cryme Time.
-
Excatly, this isn't suppose to appeal to the 30-40 year old wrestling but more to younger generation of fans still in school.

This fight reminded me alot of De La Hoya/Mosley 2, where Mosley had the harder and the more power punches, but De La Hoya was hitting Mosley with more punches. I had Toney winning 115-113, but could see why people had Peter winning 114-113, but Peter winning 116-11? That's bullshit.
-
Agreed.

Your trippin. Tanguay is not "THAT big" of an improvement, even though he had more points then any Flames player last year right? They still have a great defense and the best goalie in the world right now, and now that they added someone who can actually pass the puck to Iginla like Conroy did in the past, what makes you think they can't win the divison? They got other players who played alright on offense like Langkow, Lombardi, Huselius, Kobasew, and Yelle was great defensive forward, but what was missing was that key 2nd scorer who can pass the puck well and set up Iginla and they filled that void with Tanguay. I could see Vancouver winning the divison aswell, but if you really think that Calgary doesn't have a chance to win the divison, then your going to be in for a big time suprise.

Dont be stupid...i'll assume by "hip hop crowd" you mean young blacks and I seriously doubt WWE playing up the worst stereotype for a black male for chuckles will bring in any fan...I honestly dont see the hilarity of 2 buff black guys seemingly uneducated beating a clerk to a persumably bloody pulp....to me its worse than eddie stealing jewelry while chavo stole a baby bottle...sure theres room for some stereotypical characters like mohammed hassan...he had redeeming qualities as in the social commentary that worked into his character...but theres a line I dont feel should be crossed and cryme tyme crip walked (im sure they'll do that dance soon enough) on that line for me Why would I mean young blacks? Alot of people from different races listen to Hip Hop, incase you didn't know. I suppose this is much worse then Booker T and Stevie Ray in their slave gimmick with an old white Southern man as the manger right? Get real. That's real racism and sterotype, that isn't. Believe it or not, their are black males who do act like this in bad areas of the States, and they are really making a gimmick out of it to help debut wrestlers. Like I said they have done this in the past in other organization, but it's because it's in the WWE, all of the sudden it's wrong. Harlem Heat could be consider sterotypical tag team aswell, but they ended up being one of the best and most over tag teams in the 90's.
-
Serious Gangbangers? Even then it would still turn out to be a joke. People never really took New Jack as a serious gimmick, he was more of the fun babyface type. I personally have never heard of these guys before RAW, but wrestling skill irrelevent, if the gimmick can get over. NOT cool.

Have you never seen Carlito? I swear, the first week or two I saw Carlito it was like "Hey look, it's Rock Ramone." He's always struck me as a little bit of the Rock (cocky heel who refers to himself in third person) with a little bit of Razor (From the same general area kayfabe-wise, likes to spit in people's faces (and yeah I know Ramone threw the toothpick, he didn't spit it, but the botom line is the same; tosses his gimmick in someone's face as a show of arrogance)). Only difference is Carlito is better at it then Scott Hall, because you know Carlito is actually hispanic.

I don't really wear my backpack, I just carry it in my hand, but when I do, I wear it on one shoulder.

Those are goofy, I'll stick with my normal backpack.

and ... are you sure you really went to college?!? Don't understand. How is it weird to take the city bus to school? I'm not taking a cheese wagon. I have to take the bus to the C-Train station and take the C-Train for like 2 stops. Alot of people I knew from High School do go to that College, what's the problem with that?

Calgary is going to win the divison this year, and their offense will be much improved with Tanguay in the mix.

No thank you.
