After hearing about this Drawn Together TV show from this forum... I took the plunge and downloaded the newest episode... This show is fucking hilarious! Why didn't I get into this sooner?!
-
Why did he leave... He was probably the most entertaining thing in the CE folder! I don't try and get involved in US politics, but I just like to read what everyone else was posting.
-
Yeah Kanyon was hilarious! Hence why I use his name on various boards. My favourite angle was the whole "Positively" gimmick and he used to wear the blonde wig, it was unbelievably funny!

Hey guys... Haven't posted here in a while, but it's always good to see some updated Astro Boy news! Down here in Australia, the 11-disc Astro Boy 1980s set was just released ($189AUD!!) but I haven't heard about it being released anywhere else... What's the latest on the movie coming out, is it still live action? If you're curious about the box set, do a search on EzyDVD.com.au, you'll see it there...

Peoples, I am having a hard time trying to understand your political system and the way it works. But for starters, I might let you in on how Aussie Politics work. Yes we have the two party system, Liberal (John Howard) and Labour (Mark Latham) but there are also the Democrats, Nationals (who are in league with the Liberals) and the Greens. Now obviously our country is led by the Prime Minister, but there is also an "Opposition Leader" who offsets the PM. Now am I to assume that the President of USA isn't opposed by an opposition leader, and that when the elections are coming up, the opposing party THEN decides who will be their Presidential elect, through something called "Primaries" I don't understand!

Oi You Wacky Americans, Help Out An Aussie!

Thanks guys... Talk about confusing though! On a sort of unrelated note... How do you think Tony Blair will do in the British elections? I've read that the British are more inclined to vote with their heads as apposed to a "patriotic" vote, which might see TB in a bit of trouble. The poor guy has been under seige constantly... Any thoughts? -
I felt this episode was a bit lacking too... It was hilarious in most places, but for some reason I just felt this episode was missing something. I would have to say that "The Jeffersons" has been the best episode of the season so far.

Hey MikeSC, got a question for you... You obviously voted for Bush, may I ask why? I don't think I've ever read a post where you have given a reason for why you support him, even after all the bumbling mistakes he's done... This is not flame bait!

For those who don't know, the Melbourne Cup is pretty much the biggest horse race in Australia, so much so that it stops the nation and anyone that is old enough to gamble, does! I lost $60 today. $20 each way on "Hard To Get" and then another $20 in the office sweeps... Did anyone fare any better than me here?
-
Well my horse "Hard To Get" was running second for a bit, and I was getting a bit excited. 101-1 odds on getting a place, so I could have been up a couple of grand if the fucking horse didn't trail off (it ended up 22nd, the bastard)

Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars
Positively Kanyon replied to Anakin Flair's topic in Television & Film
I've watched Part 1. I was impressed with the effects and the story I suppose was good for Farscape fans, but I felt a bit lost. I have to agree with RRR, I don't think there is anything outstandingly great about Farscape. I think I'll stick with Stargate. -

Obviously I have no problem paying for public schools... Don't know what you're going on about there... I do have a problem with my tax dollars already going to some swank private school where they should be clearly diverted to public schools that need the funds. You are blowing this completely out of context... That's great that your parents can afford to send you to a private school, but what about the people on low incomes that have to send their kids to a public school, aren't they entitled to an education? I've got no problem with you, but put yourself in the shoes of a struggling family, don't you think that their kids should have an opportunity to make something of their lives? You're coming off as some rich poncey cappuchino drinking yuppy that thinks their too good for everyone else, having a whinge that you don't get a fair break... typical Liberal voter
-
Well I voted Labor and I'm fucking proud I did. Bottom line, I was sick of John Howards lies in regards to Iraq, the children overboard scandal and what really pissed me off was the advertisements saying if Labor was in power, interest rates would rise. The government doesn't control interest rates, the Reserve Bank does so that's a load of shit. As for Labor's private schools policy, I was all for it. Why the hell should Australian Taxpayers have to pay for privately funded schools while public funded schools flounder? If parents want to send their kids to a private school, let them pay for it. Simple as that. I applaude Mark Latham's stance on key issues brought up in this election, and if he runs again, he'll get my vote again.

Movies that people say they hate... without seeing

I Spit On Your Grave -
Is that like Van Damme's little "bump" on his forehead that pops out when he gets fired up, during a fight scene?

I'm actually enjoying this new Astro Boy series. Of course, it won't even touch the original but the effort and quality of animation this series has is unbelievable!

WWE Global Warming Tour: Melbourne (2002)
Positively Kanyon replied to natey2k4's topic in The WWE Folder
I have the DVD... pretty average show. I enjoyed SmackDown! Return Of The Deadman tour alot better than this one. -
Looks like the AFL has it's first ever "non-Victorian" Grand Final. Port Adelaide v Brisbane Lions! Will Port choke? Can the Lions get the "four-peat" ??? Any thoughts?
-
Looks like Port Adelaide is through to the Grand Final... Let's see if they still choke! They play the winner of Brisbane Lions V Geelong tonight... GO LIONS!
-
Between that game and the Brisbane v. North Queensland Rugby League game, people here in Brisbane are in an absolute sports frenzy! I love finals time!
-
Are you serious, I think it looks like a riot. It's supposed to be intentionally cheesy in a funny way, and you know Matt and Trey like to put in their own subtle political commentrary in their works, so lots of pot shots at celebrities in this one. I am looking forward to this movie alot!

I'm kind of pissed off that Essendon was given the shaft. Would have loved to have seen an Essendon v Brisbane Preliminary Final. Everyone seems to be pointing towards a Port Adelaide v Brisbane Lions Grand Final more and more now, but I would not be surprised to see the Saints get up there, knowing Port's reputation as a finals "choker"
