I think Martin's equal to the same situation. Be prepared for 8 weeks of "Gomery cleared ME; it was all Chretien's fault".

Deep down, we all know Hoff is waiting and waiting for that inevitable Ahmed Johnson Price Is Right appearance. (I love the direction this thread is going.)

The economy in Canada is still good, and likely will still be strong come January. Therefore, Liberals win, either a minority or majority. All other factors (scandals, health care, social issues, etc.) do not matter. Sounds blunt, but it's true.

I get the reference. I hope I'm not the only who does. Rather awesome, though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Add me to the list. That makes 3 things I've noticed that they missed.

That's because *that* match wasn't on the DVD. The match on the DVD is the Weasel Suit match that took place at MSG. Warrior had no one in his corner for that match. The Milwaukee match has only highlights in Heenan's main program bio.

Good God, Bret looks like an aging Alanis Morisette in that picture.

This whole set was ridiculously rushed. For more of the same, check out the intro's to the 9/29/94 match with Owen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I noticed that last night when I got around to watching the third disc. Damn! The real weird part there is that they had the foresight to censor out when Vince, on commentary, said "WWF champion", but didn't blur out the graphic. Odd shit.

Maybe Eugene is a big fan of Manchester United? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now you're making me think of the movie Eurotrip and Eugene singing, "My baby takes the morning train...".
-
Talk going around in Manchester is that he apparently got drunk at the hotel and started a fight. Take it for what it's worth for now.

Got the set, watching the second disc now, and something you guys should know: It's funny the things that happen when you have a rushed production deadline. At the end of the Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect SummerSlam 91 match, they forgot to edit the graphic that says "New WWF Intercontinental Champion" like they normally would with these releases. Oops! Anyways, my recommendation, for those who want the DVD, is to get the set as soon as possible. This set will be off the shelves once the wrong people notice that botch.

I'm shocked and saddened. Like many others, he was my favourite currently, one of my favourites of all time, and the top guy who kept me interested in a below-average product. I really don't know what to say. I'm in a state of shock right now. RIP Eddie.

You're both correct. The Hulk Still Rules DVD, the nWo DVD, and the two HHH DVDs all came out just after the official name change to WWE and World Wrestling Entertainment (spring of 2002). However, all the editing of logos, "WWF" sayings, etc. didn't happen until the fall of 2002. After that, I don't remember too many other DVDs being released aside from the RAW 10 year anniversary one and the Best Of Confidential. After that, they were pretty dead as far as specialty DVDs go until the Shawn Michaels and Rey Mysterio ones came out, and for a while, I thought they'd never reproduce any Attitude-era matches again, until the Mick Foley one came out.

*bump* Quick FYI to the Canadians here: The DVD will be out in stores November 22, a week after the U.S. release date of November 15.

You know, considering the recent news about the differences between JR and HHH, I'd laugh if what's held up the HHH DVD is JR (or someone else) constantly suggesting that some good additions to the DVD would be HHH's time as Terra Ryzin, some hogpen matches with Henry Godwinn, the Warrior squash at WM12, among other things.

The Ultimate Warrior DVD has the Randy Savage WrestleMania VII match, as well as the Hulk Hogan WrestleMania VI match. I think the Savage match is worth the purchase alone if you can wait for the price to drop quite a bit. Both matches have that nostalgia factor, and if you're a completist for DVD quality, then you can do worse than adding them to the collection. As for the main feature, as has been discussed many times, it's filled with tons of lies as far as what's discussed, but that has a weird entertainment value to it. I can only speak for myself, but I found it shockingly re-watchable too, maybe because of the outrageousness of some of the comments. It has some sort of value, in a way, that something like the Road Warriors DVD main program doesn't. Wouldn't shock me if they were doing that to make the DVD stand out from all their other releases. I also hate to repeat something Scott Keith said, but he was right in his review when he said there's entertainment value when certain people go to great lengths to lie and bury someone they disliked, or didn't play by their rules, or whatever.

The new HHH set was planned around the same time as the Undertaker set, but things got pushed back for various reasons. I imagine the company managing to bring in Jake Roberts and Bret Hart for their respective projects caused the HHH project to be pushed aside. They keep bringing up a potential HHH set, as well as a Kurt Angle set. It wouldn't shock me if a Vader set (as he has a Legends deal with them) will come out before those two will. I'll approve of it too!

Greatest Stars of the 80's and Road Warriors DVD's
MARTYEWR replied to ravenlo's topic in The WWE Folder
I got the Road Warriors DVD yesterday at HMV (I'm in Ottawa). If you have an HMV, try to see if it's there. There were a few copies at the one I was at. It's one of the best DVDs they've done, btw, and that's saying something, considering they've produced some good ones as it is. -
Still have the best record in the league, albeit someone else does too.

Sweet! First place, and I only have no wins against Aberdeen. Damn you, Dr. Tom! EDIT: No wins versus Baltimore either, although I haven't played them yet.

Your political compass Economic Left/Right: -2.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.33 A bit left of what I expected, but still in the ballpark of what I usually score with these things.

Definitely a fake. Trish not being a drinker is laughable.
-
I have two copies of that tour on DVD. *is embarrassed* I don't know if that's "evidence". It's no secret to casual fans that she's computer savvy.

I don't like the additional white stripe on the sleeves. Additionals like these on jerseys make them look like Arena League-level jerseys. The rest of the two jerseys look sharp, but lose that white stripe. Less is more.

Anyone else miss the "good old days" of 2000?
MARTYEWR replied to Jingus's topic in General Wrestling
Was that the show that Benoit dropped HHH when he was in the car on top of the forklift? I think what made 2000 so good was the opening four PPV's of the year. The ME's had unbelievable heat and everybody worked their asses off to create the success Actually, it would've been interesting if Benoit had done the forklift dropping to HHH. As silly as it would be, it would also be pushing a new star. (BTW, it was Austin playing forklift guy.)
