I didn't think the arguement was about weather or not he SHOULD be recast, but weather or not it was "OMG IMPOSSIBLE TO LIVE UP TO LEDGER'S PERFORMANCE~!" if they did choose to recast.

I hate how they cut away from the puzzles every few seconds to reaction shots. I'd like them to stay on the puzzle so I can have a chance to play/figure it out as well.

Why would there be backlash? If he did as good or better (Yes, it is possible to do better than Ledger) nobody would shit on the movie. The only people who would shit on it are the people who shit on this one for Nicholson not being Joker. You see how much money they set the movie back with their backlash. Just because Ledger died, so no one can take his role? In fact, if somebody like Depp was cast and did a great job, there'd not only be no backlash but a wider audience because he's a superstar with his own following of fans.

Oh yeah, when I read people talking about "the pencil trick" I was expecting Joker to do that thing where you make the pencil look like it's bending. I was disappointed with what actually happened, because I thought that would have been hilarious. "Want to see a trick?" *waves pencil around* "It's rubber!" *Stabs dude in the eye with it*

I agree that there's no need to bring back The Joker, but I still don't think it's fair to say if they did it won't be anywhere near as good.

Yeah, I'm not saying I would want The Joker in the next movie... I just wouldn't see the reason to get upset if he was. It can still be a great movie, with an equally great performance if they get the right actor.

Again, in any good movie the actors disappear into their roles and you forget you're watching the actor and believe in the character. I'm not trying to take anything away from Ledger, he did a great job, I just think oters could do a great job as well.

Yeah, I'd much rather never see him again. I mean, what more do you need from the Joker, and why would you want something that's not going to be as good as Ledger was? It's pointless. Okay, Ledger did a good job, but it wasn't a mind blowing "NO ACTOR CAN EVER COMPARE!!" job. Most of the reason Joker was so good was becasue of the character and his lines. His mannerisms? How much can you give Ledger credit for, and how much was Nolan's directing? He could have been telling Ledger exactly how he wants him to deliver the lines. I think that most good actors could have pulled as good a performance out of The Joker in this movie as Ledger did.

I don't get why fans would be pissed. They'd rather never see The Joker again than let someone else take a shot at it? Those are their only options.
