I don't either. But they're not unlistenably bad. On the whole, they're pretty bland, but nice enough to do some foot-tapping.

............... ............... ............... ............... ............... ...Burn!!!!!!!

To avoid catching shit, I won't mention that I found myself tapping my foot and bobbing my head during the chorus. And I won't mention that I did so in a non-ironic fashion.

Yeah, I like Pygmalion more, too. I was just inspired by this shoegazing topic to listen to Slowdive again and Soulvaki was the first of their CDs I found lying around. I like the 5 songs tacked on at the end that were originally on the 5 EP better than the songs that were originally on the CD.
-
And then go to Souvlaki. I like Slowdive.

On my fantasy baseball thing it says that I got points for David Ortiz stealing a base...Under what circumstances did this occur?
-
So, is Jeff Weaver really thatmuch of an upgrade over Sir Sidney? Brian McCann would say not. And for the hometown hero thing, I think it's obvious who the Astros pick should be... Larry Dierker.
-
So, is it better than Waking Life?

Don't straight edgers not have sex? If so, I'm not a straight edger cuz I gets more booty than Blackbeard, sucka. And I smoke cigarettes, but I don't drink or do drugs. But I have lots of sex. Lots and lots of sex. As soon as I finish typing this, I'm going to have sex. Lots of it.

That is why Jon Miller is the greatest TV baseball broadcaster in the game today. He was trying to be funny, when he made that comment. Yeah, that's what made it so funny. The comment, in and of itself, was not that funny and only slightly clever at best, but he gave the line with such gusto and conviction that it made the line great. Either that or I was just glad that Joe Morgan quit talking for a minute.

I'm not going to any of the 'Stros/Mets games this weekend, but I'm hoping that the 'Stros can pull something great outta their collective ass. Brandon Backe's scheduled to make his return start on the 22nd, and I think we've got Buchholz starting the opener and probably Roy for the other game. Hopefully we can sweep the Cubbies and get outta this 3 games under .500 thing we've been in to for the last little while.

I probably wouldn't marry Avril Lavigne because my girlfriend would get mad. She's not big on me marrying other people. As far Avril and the guy she married...I say...good for them and it doesn't affect me in the slightest bit.

I didn't really dislike "How Soon Is Now?" until I heard that cover version of it that was the theme song to the sexy witch dramedy Charmed. Prior to that, I only didn't care for it because it was overplayed to the mizax, yo. After that, I just stopped really liking it regardless of how often I heard it. I like the Smiths' s/t more than Meat Is Murder, but for no conceivable reason of either's quality. Either way, The Queen is Dead is the money record. I don't even really listen to alot of their original LPs anymore, anyway. They just have so many compilations and such, of which I own most. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea isn't the greatest record of all-time or anything, but I think it's one of the best CDs to come out in the last 10-15 years. It gets in your head....man.

Hmmm...I haven't listened to CYHSY since it first came out. I remember liking it mostly, but finding it to get annoying after awhile. It was kinda all over the place and spastic, which sometimes is good, but can get a little tiresome. In orther news, I'm excited to see Wolf Parade at Austin City Limits this Sept. I think they're going on right after Gnarls Barkley, so it should be a good 2 hours of exploding mayhem.

Yep. Knew it. So, there's been a total of 4 blown saves in 2 innings now...I bet this goes to at least 15 innings. How long till Bobby Cox starts warming up starters?

Cripes Jiminy... I bet that run doesn't hold up.

are you kidding? Totally kidding. I like Huff and I think he's a great addition to the team. I was just making a mockery of the oodles of bandwagon fans over at the astros.com messageboard who were talking about Huff like he was the Second Coming last nite after he hit a 3-run shot and calling for his head tonite after he didn't get a hit. thats good. im glad i asked. i was about to freak out. although i dont think aubrey will do much for the 'stros. Meh, he's better than the alternatives at this point. He's a second half player. The Astros are a second half team. He's on a contending team for the first time and in a contract year. All reasons why I think he'll help out big big. I haven't been watching the Braves-Friars game. I just turned it on to see the Braves blow it, but I did hear that the Braves blew a 5-1 lead. Is that...correct?

Yeah, the three times I've seen the Arcade Fire there seemed like there were certain parts of their stage show that were somewhat pre-planned out, but all three times I've seen them they seemed super-energetic and passionate without seeming fake or insincere. Still TV on the Radio are the best live band I've ever seen. Those guys don't give out an ounce of rehearsed passion or exuberance.
-
Damn that Aubrey Huff! He had an 0fer and struck out swinging to end the game. We need to dump him and get somebody that can hit. Oh well, maybe the Tejada for Everett/Lidge talks can be revisited...
-
Ah well, maybe I just need to get about 5500 more posts before I voice an opinion. Yeah, the Arcade Fire are great live. Supposedly their new album that they're recording now includes a church organ that induces tears upon listening. The producer of said forthcoming CD has already declared it a masterpiece. I can't wait.

yeah it got really stupid when thye had Urkel have a transformation chamber, a cloning machine, a teleportation device, etc. then it moved to cbs and they replaced Harriet with a new actress, and had Urkel get together with Laura.it was pretty unwatchable by the end. by the way we all know about the youngest sister Judy just dissapearing, but what happened to Rachel? suddenly she was gone but her son Richie was still living with the Winslows Speaking of that, Step By Step really took a severe nose drop when Balki replaced Cody. At least Al was hot (and still is). Wait a minute...Balki was on Step By Step? And it took a nosedive when he joined the show? Man, I stopped watching TGIF waaaaaay too soon. Balki makes every show better. Another show that started off really good and interesting was MTV's The Real World. It was really good and interesting the first few years, like...thru the San Francisco show and it went downhill quickly every year after that. I haven't watched any of it since the season with that guy Lars that was into techno music and the guy that got his tongue bit off, but the few minutes of it I do see are just so ridiculously bad and out of touch with real people and what the show started off being about...or the show now is in touch with real people and I'm just horribly out of touch...

The Astros made another move. They placed Morgan Ensberg on the 15-day DL retroactive to July 10th and called up outfielder Luke Scott. Hopefully this works out, as Ensberg's been looking really bad for a while now, so maybe the time off will help him heal up and sort out his head. And hopefully Luke Scott's learned how to hit a breaking ball...
-
Hopefully he can make up for it by scoring on this double to bring the Astros one game closer to the Cardinals...
