Well, 'Stros lost. Seriously, the Rockies in the West. Jennings, Cook, and Francis are looking awfully good...and most of the hitters are hitting better away from Coors than at Coors. Oh well, at least every team in the Central besides the Cardinals lost to keep us in the upper third of the division. Hopefully we can get a good start from Pettitte on Pink Bat day tomorrow.

Uh....well, Ryan Wagner and Chris Snyder both graduated from my college. Boo-yah~!

Michael Barret does seem like a bitch. I remember the Barret/Oswalt deal in 2004. That was hilarious. Well, I guess if the team won't win, they gotta at least do something to make the fans wanna come back.
-
Well, the 'Stros won at home tonite, pushing thier home record to a ML leading 15-4. Seeing Lidge pitch in the 7th was really weird live, as he usually comes out to a video and Drowning Pool's "The Game" when he comes in to close in the ninth, and it was just weird seeing him come out to it in the 7th, but, he had a 123 inning for the first time in forever, so that's progress. According to Phil Garner, Lidge is gonna be pitching earlier in ballgames for a while to build his confidence back. Either Qualls or Wheeler's gonna close, hopefully Qualls. He's on my fantasy team and has better stuff. Oh, and I didn't see the game, but I saw highlights...what was Michael Barret so pissed off about vis a vis Dave Roberts?

Yeah...maybe not Harang, but I've just always enjoyed his work, so it's good to see him start to succeed. Hopefully if he continues this good year that he's having so far, he'll get some recognition.
-
Two more pitchers that popped to mind just now that are quite underrated, methinks-Aaron Harang and John Patterson...especially Patterson. If he would've gotten some run support last year, he could've won 16 or 17 games.

Yeesh, nuts to this...I'm going to House of Pies~!

FOURTH PLACE ISN'T FINE. Hey now...I never said fourth place. But at least they'll always be ahead of the Pirates... C ompletely U seless B y S eptember (Spring?)

Is it time for the annual "Fire Dusty" campaign? If all the DL guys come back I think the Cubs'll be fine. I don't think they'll finish in the top 3 in the division, but I think they'll be fine. But seriously, what does Dusty Baker see in Neifi Perez and Jerry Hairston Jr.? Those guys are not starters. Hell, they're barely defensive replacements. The Cubs seem to be in this weird phase between rebuilding and trying to contend, like they call up these kids from the minors and don't even let em play hardly. Wuzzupwitdat?

Lots of stuff by Townes Van Zandt...lots. Mostly "To Live is to Fly" and "She Came and She Touched Me". And for my dramatic death scene-"Funkytown".

Well, at least Juan Pierre robbed Bonds. He might hit like a girl and throw like a girl, but he robbed it. Small victories.

I've never tried stuffed mushrooms. I do, however, love some stuffed bell peppers.

Well, the 'Stros lost their 5th in a row. Even DAVE~! Borkowski gave up a bomb. Pettitte hasn't gotten into a groove yet. At least it looks like our hitting's coming back a little bit. Hopefully Buchholz can pitch well tomorrow and Lidge won't blow it. I'm not feeling like a Cubs fan yet. Mostly cuz we scored more runs tonite than the Cubs have in their last six...

See? He's so underrated, people don't even know how to spell/pronounce his name. I thought he was the best Astros pitcher in 2004. He's been the Opening Day starter five years running, but with Clemens and Pettitte on the team, he was always relegated to "the other guy". Now with Clemens gone, it looks like he's finally getting the recognition he deserves, but I wouldn't take a Harold Reynolds mention to be proof of that, as I think Harold's always been the least partial of the BBTN analysts. Now, if John Kruk starts throwing props out to Roy Oswalt on a nightly basis, that would be something else entirely...
-
The most underrated pitcher in all of baseball is Roy Oswalt, but that's probably because of his reserved attitude. However, after he wins 20 straight games for the third season in a row and gets the Cy Young award that he deserved in 2004, people hopefully will start to notice him. He deserves it...except last nite. He was pretty bad last nite, but he's usually good. Yeah...really good. I think the most overrated pitchers in baseball are the two Cubs' aces, Wood and Prior. Every single year it's the same thing. People get all excited, they start the season the DL. People get all excited. They come back, pitch a few games, go back on the DL. Kerry Wood struck out 20 Astros in one game, but if he ever starts 20 games in a season, color me surprised.

They got this Chinese Buffet right by my house that has really great food. I can chow down on some General Tso's Chicken...that and any of the beef stuff...and some wonton soup. Every time I've gotten seafood at a Chinese place it's been terrible. Last time I went to one, they had these two little Hispanic girls...probably about 4 or 5 and they went to the buffet and each got themselves a whole freakin' plate full of oysters on the half shell, and they went back to their table and I swear they both ate all the oysters they got. They proceeded to eat about three plates of oysters each. It was amazing.

Crab rangoons are freakin' delicious. Anybody that would waste a crag rangoon deserves to be kicked out of a restuarant. Seriously, though, if there's kids, why not take em to McDonald's or something instead of going into a "grown-ups" restuarant and wasting all their food? I mean, that's disrespectful anywhere, but I believe that it's even more disrespectful in Asian cultures.

That reminds me of a bizzarre incident that occured a few years back ago when the Astros played...I'm pretty sure it was the White Sox. There were runners on 1st and 3rd with two outs and the 'Stros pitcher threw a pitch that bounced on homeplate while the batter swung through it for strike three and the ball somehow bounced up and landed right in the umpire's front pocket. Brad Ausmus popped up and ran around looking for it and nobody could find it. Meanwhile, the runner on third waltzed home, followed by the runner on first, and then the batter made it all the way to second before the ball was found. As far as Bonds, I'm hoping very much that he doesn't play tomorrow against the 'Stros. He's 4-4 against Oswalt with a homerun, and I just really, really, really don't wanna see him tie/break the record against the Astros in San Fransisco. However, if he were to tie/break the record, the 'Stros would finally get on Baseball Tonite and Sportscenter, so that would be good.

I think we're all forgetting that a band called Foreigner released an album in 1977. It contained the smash hits "Feels Like the First Time", "Cold as Ice", and "Headknocker". All the other great albums released that year, The Idiot, Talking Heads '77, The Clash, Low, none match the brilliance of Foreigner.
-
Damn 'Stros just got swept by the Rockies. The Rockies look like they have a good club this year. I'll make an out of the blue pick and say the Rockies take the West. Oh well, Everett once again sparkled on defense, making a "play of the year" candidate to save a run, and DAVE~! Borkowski pitched great again. He's pitched 9 innings, struck out 10, given up 4 hits, walked 2 and surrendered no runs. Dave Borkowski-the new Houston Astros closer. Oh well, the trek through the West continues tomorrow with Roy O getting the start against Noah Lowry, and without Alou and Bonds not likely to play, hopefully we can get out of this skid.

The theme song to "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" ...chillin' out, maxin', relaxin, all cool, yo.

I would just like to note that the Chicago Cubs have an E# of 128, as of May 7th. Let the panic grow.

She's just some coquette... And she takes it up the poopshoot.

Yeah, it's a good thing we've got Sluggin' Brad Ausmus to drive in runs for us. Adam Everett might be short, but at least he's taller than Juan Pierre. Actually, I just checked, and he is actually the same height as Juan Pierre...and 30 pounds lighter. Good Lord. Oh well, at least he's uh...better than Neifi.
